Almost 2 years ago, was having issues with coughing up blood. Went to have tests done, but problem didn't become apparent. Then my wife suggested I go to her cardiologist, Dr Akhtar, he interviewed me, got past info on my medical. Afterwards sent me to have two other specific tests. It was found I had Severe Mitral Valve Regurgitation. He sent me then to a surgeon who scheduled me for surgery.
I am grateful for Dr Akhtar's help.
And to God who gives knowledge and ability.
Last Sunday I walked 5 miles, and leading a descently active life at 74 years old.

This is the most caring, thorough doctor to which I've ever been. He explains everything. Is non-judgmental. Spends plenty of time with you. We count ourselves as being so fortunate to have found him.

addition as of 7/30/25. The doctor performed a procedure on my husband today that both he and I were stressed about. Dr. Akhtar was so reassuring prior. and couldn't have been kinder afterwards. I must add that Ryan in his office was extraordinary in his support. I must reiterate how wonderful this doctor is in all aspects.

This doctor, he don’t care about his patient. He cared only about to make money. He just tried to push my mom to do something. She don’t need to do it So I asked to change him for a different one for a second opinion The other person disagree with what he want to do

9 years ago, I had a massive heart attack and Dr. Akhtar and his medical team saved my life. He is the epitome of kindness, grace, professionalism, empathy and competency. He is so exceptional that my wife became a patient as well to monitor her heart health and overall wellness. He is hands-on, and takes time to see you & address your concerns. We have recommended him to friends & family alike. He deserves a 10 star review!

I was so excited to find this office at first the reviews were amazing! However, I Was rescheduled twice by staff. The first time I had to call to verify my appt in which they said oh were sorry the doc is out for two weeks we have to reschedule you. I asked why no one called me before the day of my appt was then told I didn’t have an appt.. Finally got my (2nd scheduled) appt as a “high risk referral” two months later and waited an hour listening to the staff talk About the doc not being there, considering rescheduling patients. I missed two hours of work and the communication doesn’t seem to be that great in this office. I declined rescheduling I’ll be finding a new cardiologist.

Dr. Salman Akhtar and staff are friendly and ensure that we were properly informed about our health care. The first thing that impress me about the staff (two people in particular-Maria and Rebecca) was that they were friendly and professional.  Also, When calling the office. - the staff pickup the phone on the first ring..that's a rare commodity.  Staff is amazing and waiting time is respected.
Dr.  Salman Akhtar is a very good about taking the time to get to know his patients.
He explains symptoms after careful diagnoses, spends quality time to answer all questions with very high attention to details. Does not get flustered when patient ask questions.  We highly recommend Dr. Akhtar..

Your name is on my credit report for owing $52 by PLUSFOUR, INC (a collection agency?). I have never heard of you or Plusfour in my entire life. I know that my SS# was stolen by an illegal trying to get work, the IRS sent me a notice. Anyway, you need to remove this immediately, it's costing me money. If you want to damage my reputation I can do the same to you, on a million websites, with a million names. You're very reckless and it's almost unbelievable that you don't check ID or know the people who's credit you are ruining. If it's a collection agency that made the mistake then YOU pay them off or let them know about their mistake. Just that you send $52 to collections tells me what kind of a practice you run. Ewww, seriously, gross. $52??? You have nothing better to do? Email me or reply to this message if you want to get this sorted out.

And folks, if you don't see a reply and you don't see me adjust my rating to 5 stars and/or delete my review then be wary of this business. I don't know who he is or what he sells but keep your identity safely hidden and pay cash if you MUST use his services.

Dr. Salman Akhtar is a very good about taking the time to get to know his patients. After my heart attack he made me feel comfortable about what I had just gone through and was genuinely concerned about me changing my diet and lifestyle. He took the time to listen to my concerns and answer all of my questions. I definitely would recommend him to anyone having heart problems.

It is very rare for me to write a review on my visit to a doctors office. Not that I have something against physicians; rather its the experience which never inspired me to do so. This is coming from someone who was diagnosed with the heart disease at age 31.

My experience with Dr. Akhtar was something unique; a) he offered genuine concern towards my health; b) showed through his actions the willingness to understand the history and prior treatments; c) empowered me by sharing knowledge about my condition as well as the benefits of proper treatment; more so it was his persona and the style of communication which impacted me in really listening and agreeing with him on the treatment choices.

I haven't within the last 7 years been empowered by a clinical physician in such a way; where I wasn't intimidated by their wisdom and opinions; rather was empowered to understand and naturally endorse their advice on treatments that would better my health.

It is true that everyone gets to study the same human anatomy while in medical school; but what makes one a complete doctor is not just the school they attended or what specialty they majored in. Rather, it's the answer to the question(s) 'why did they chose this profession in the first place, what is their personal & professional life experiences; who are their mentors plus how that wisdom impacted their career growth and finally how they live their life outside their professional circle.'

Creating a "Positive Memorable Experience" for each life a physician touches could only be gained through right intent, willingness to empower along with a strong commitment to hospitality & genuine care. That is what I got from Dr. Akhtar and his staff; very grateful!
