I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Sedona Ranch Dentistry. I hadn’t been to the dentist in over 9 years and was extremely anxious going into my appointment. I was definitely a nervous (and probably slightly dramatic) patient and needed a little extra patience and reassurance, and everyone made me feel completely comfortable and cared for.

Millie was absolutely wonderful. She was so patient, kind, and understanding with me throughout the entire appointment. Dr. Vargas was equally amazing — incredibly nice, reassuring, and never made me feel rushed or embarrassed about how nervous I was.

I ended up getting both of my cavities taken care of AND my cleaning done in the same visit, which I genuinely did not think I would be able to do when I walked in. They made the entire experience so much easier than I had built it up to be in my head.

For someone who has avoided the dentist for years because of anxiety, having a team treat me with this much patience and kindness meant a lot. I’m genuinely so appreciative of Millie, Dr. Vargas, and everyone at Sedona Dentistry. Thank you for taking such good care of me and making going back to the dentist feel a whole lot less scary. ❤️

My daughter went in last Saturday for a tooth-extraction consultation. They offered to perform the extraction right then and there—impressive, or so I initially thought.

I even left a message that same Saturday informing them that my daughter has two insurance plans. When I called again on Monday to follow up and question the copay she was charged, I asked for the name of the person assisting me. Veronica responded that she was the manager—although I hadn’t asked for her title. Her tone made that title very clear.

She informed me that the claim had already been submitted and that I would simply have to wait until the insurance payment was processed before the issue could be corrected. Apparently, collecting the payment can happen immediately, but addressing a possible billing issue—even after I left a message about it—requires patience.

So yes, the same-day extraction was fast. Unfortunately, the customer service and handling of the billing concern were not nearly as impressive.

Thank you for your response. I understand that coordinating two insurance plans takes time—that was never my concern. My concern was that although I left a message on Saturday and called again on Monday about the secondary insurance, no one asked me for the information. I was simply told to wait, and the phone conversation lacked the patience and professionalism mentioned here.

Only after I posted this review did Mimi contact me and request the secondary insurance information, which I immediately provided. I appreciate that the issue is now being addressed, but it should not have required a public review for someone to ask for the information needed to process the claim correctly. Thank you for finally addressing this matter.

This place was great! Easy to schedule a day and time to be seen. The staff was very kind, friendly, and helpful.
They were quick to assist me with getting my insurance information and even let me know of cancellations to come in sooner, which I really appreciated.
Staff explained what my dental treatment would entail. Staff went over the procedures and cost before anything was done.
They allowed me to choose which part of the entail treatment I wished to start with. No judgements from the staff. They listened to my needs/concerns with care.
Not a fan of being left in a chair for 20+ mins after treatment was completed.

Just got all 4 wisdom teeth removed at the beginning of may. I’ve never had any surgeries done before and everyone was very nice and eased my mind. Clear instructions and took my insurance. Easy to schedule. Took X-rays when I arrived and was out and recovering less than an hour. Very funny staff. Highly recommend if you need your wisdom teeth out.

I had an appointment this morning as a new patient. The girl at the front desk was prompt, kind, and very helpful…sadly, that was the only positive thing I can say for this business. The hygienist wasn’t warm or welcoming, and she had a bit of an attitude. The dentist was even worse. He walked into the exam room (to which my back was facing away from him while laying in the chair) and never said hello and introduced himself or even showed me his face. I got a cold “Megan? I’m the dentist…” before he looked at x-rays, told me very briefly what he saw, and said he would be right back to clean my teeth. During the cleaning, I winced several times out of discomfort and pain and not once did he pause to ask if I was okay or show any form of concern. He didn’t ask any questions other than “do you floss?” and “when was the last time you had your teeth cleaned?” After he finished the cleaning, he said “thank you” and abruptly got up and left the room never to be seen again. The hygienist rinsed my mouth then let me get up…I looked in the mirror to find blood all over my chin. Neither of them bothered to wipe it off my face before they got up and walked away. The hygienist also had a bit of an attitude when I declined the fluoride gel she tried to put on my teeth before telling me to make sure I schedule my next visit in 6 months.
I never got either of their names, and never even saw the dentist’s face. I was confident this would be a good dentist experience based off the number of positive reviews online, and I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism, courtesy, and downright unfriendliness of this place.

Made an appointment for a check and cleaning. After check up i was given the choice of extra cleaning options that weren’t covered by insurance above the general cleaning. As soon as i turned those down which would have been all out of pocket cost i was told id have to be outsourced due to staffing issues. I feel it unprofessional to lure people in to charge up all the check up fees and then turn you away from what you made the appointment for. I went to this Dentist office nice office and exam room. I get there expecting to get treatment done. And they didn't exrays and gave me a $5000 quote? All I wanted was a filling and a cleaning. They said $1,200 for a 3 year warranty and Lazer cleaning was $600 They left me siting in the exam room for an hour and a half. I just walked out. I will never go back to this place again. Our experience with this dental office was extremely frustrating due to poor insurance coordination and billing practices.

The insurance coordinator, Emily, repeatedly insisted she understood our insurance policy better than we did as the policy holders. My husband was told he needed to pay over $500 out of pocket to continue treatment. After a significant disagreement, she agreed to submit a pre-authorization, which came back showing $0 out-of-pocket responsibility, exactly as I had been saying from the beginning.

Despite this, Emily claimed the pre-authorization was “done incorrectly” and insisted we still had to pay to proceed. Because my husband urgently needed treatment, we were pressured into paying upfront with the promise that we would be reimbursed once insurance paid.

Fast forward 1.5 months: we received the final EOB from our insurance confirming—again—that the service was paid in full. This was not a surprise, as it matched both the benefit and the pre-authorization. When I contacted the office for a refund, Emily claimed they had not yet been paid by insurance and therefore could not issue a refund.

At this point, I have escalated the issue directly to our insurance company. This office appears to double dip, collecting money from patients for services that insurance has already paid—or is paying—for. This is unacceptable and unethical.

Communication has been poor throughout, and the dentist seems either unaware of or unconcerned with front desk billing practices that put this office at serious risk. While the dentist himself was fine, the administrative side completely overshadowed any positives.

Unfortunately, my husband completed treatment here only because our X-ray benefits were already used, leaving us unable to transfer offices until next year. We will not be returning and do not recommend this office.

The positive reviews are shocking. I regret letting them influence our decision to visit this office, as we had no positive experience.

My mother had an emergency with broken teeth and a bridge. Sedona got her in the same day with a very reasonable cash price on X-rays and evaluation and a clearly priced treatment plan.

Her pain level was monitored while they removed her broken teeth and the dentist responded accordingly to any discomfort . He listened to her concerns. I'm very fortunate to have found them.

If someone has to have an emergency dental appointment, they are not having a good day. Sedona did their best to treat both me and my mother with the care and respect that anyone would want when facing this sort of dental distress.

Loved how fast I was able to get scheduled in. This location is in a newer developing corner right by 7/11 on Nth 5th & Ann. The inside was nice & clean, the front seemed small but once you get passed the door it was business time! Enjoyed the music & watching Netflix while waiting. Walked in today for some information and Elizabeth was so generous to answer all of my questions! She was so nice and welcoming and i have never felt that way in a dental office before!!! This is more than 5 starts!! This is going to be my new dental office! Im so glad i walked in!
