Had my surgery today 7/30/26 around 11:30a….ive been to this location a couple of times in the past. I was extreamly nervous and Dr.Selznick sat with me and talked to me and helped ease my mind and nerves till I was okay to go under. I would def recommend this location and all the staff are always so helpful and friendly. For Context: I don't usually leave reviews unless my experience was either Terrible or Perfect.
I had to have my wisdom teeth removed and Dr. Selznick made the experience so easy and comforting. Before I left they explained to me everything I needed to know to recover from my surgery. I genuinely could not recommend anyone more qualified than this office. I would argue better pricing for a lot better experience. I hear scary stories from people all the time who got their wisdom teeth elsewhere. But my experience was absolutely nothing like that and was actually a positive one. You can tell they actually care and love what they do.

From the moment we arrived, Dr. Selznick stood out for being efficient, friendly, and exceptionally wise. I was referred to them by my insurance. I called to
make an appointment due to the fact that my wisdom teeth were infected and I wanted them out as soon as possible. She made my appointment for a Tuesday at 8am. I moved around my schedule and rescheduled an appointment with my primary physician that I had been waiting a month for because this was more important. I asked to be sent a confirmation but never received it. I show up at 7:45 on Tuesday and no one was there. I tried calling and no answer. Looked online and it showed that the office hours were changed 2 weeks prior and they now open at 9am. I waited in my car for the hour and went back in at 9. Doors were still locked. I called 3 times and only got the answering machine. I waited about 15 minutes and still nothing. I called my dentist to give me a different referral and will not be returning back. This was very frustrating and unprofessional.

I give four stars to Dr. Selznick for pulling all four of my wisdom teeth in 20 minutes with no pain at all and an easy recovery. I cannot say the same with the front desk which is impossible to reach when I had a mixup with my antibiotics, they had prescribed me an antibiotic which I’m allergic to. Which is why I had to dock a star.

Trying to reach the office to fix the mistake was impossible. Nobody on the phone and even after hours office didn’t get to reach them! I had to go to the pharmacy for them to get paged and still nothing!! I was left to go to UMC quick care for antibiotics which I was left 3 days without it when I could’ve had it on the day of surgery if it wasn’t for front desk not answering the phones.

This doctor has the worst assistants and receptionists of all LV dentists. You will easily be kept waiting on the phone in the lobby for hours without them acknowledging you or saying anything. If you want terrible service, go visit this doctor and face the most arrogant assistants and receptionists in Las Vegas.

I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're looking to have your wisdom teeth removed. I just had all four of mine extracted a couple of weeks ago, and the healing process has been great. Everyone I met at this office was extremely kind and attentive. Dr. Selznick and his assistant did an excellent job of explaining the procedure to me and even provided me with post-care instructions as well as extra gauze pads.

Dr. Jay Selznick! I am elated I waited and listened to my gut when I switched my original referral to him! My dentist whom processed the referral stated that the nerve was pretty deep and could cause complications that made him uncomfortable with the procedure to do himself! Dr. Selznick handled it with ease! His office is a comfortable, & a clean environment! The Doc on a brief personal level— I can tell he is a jokester! Made me laugh, & was very personable! Definitely go to him if you need an oral surgeon! He’s probably the best in Vegas! 🤘🏻👏🏻

Ok so Dr. Jay is a really down to earth tell you like it is Dr. He was very helpful IN my consultation app. Now the front office staff absolutely sucks. They do not return phone calls. I had to call the insurance over over and over several times and then the dentist office back. The insurance told me what needed to be put on the preauth and have them resubmit it once the pre auth was corrected. Instead of the office staff doing what the insurance company asked for in order to approve the medication needed for surgery, she resubmitted the exact same pre auth no correction at all. Then when you call the office staff to see what is going on with the pre auth that was their JOB to call you back and explain to you in the first place they want to catch an attitude with you because they didn't do their job in the first place. Dr. Jay plz work on your staff. Had the girl who answered just said hey we take your insurance but we still going to charge you for something I could've been stopped calling and asking for information. Sucks to have a good Dr and crappy staff... jmo

I have been a patient of Doctor selznick for 25 years. I keep coming back due to how great him and his staff are! My insurance had issues approving IV antibiotics when I have been living off of oral ones and it has not taken care of it so I was hesitant to schedule surgery without Iv antibiotics. The office manager helped me by getting it done so I can finally schedule my surgery and be out of pain. As I live in pain daily with the tooth infection. I was so impressed that she cared and not only that she went out of her way to get it taken care of. Fighting insurance is a pain in itself! I cried because it was the nicest thing anyone could have done for me. I can't begin to express how thankful I am to the staff for being so great and caring but also to Dr. Selznick to being a great knowledgeable doctor!

Over priced. It says tooth extraction 750.00. I was 350 up front. Then I got another bill and was charge 300. That is with dental insurance. If you get sedation and you are 1 minute over 15 minutes you get charge another 750 is that fair. I don't think so. Then they charge 220 for antibotic. Now do I really know that I had that? I just have to trust them. Did I authorize it? No. The staff is okay but if you question pricing they are rude and let you call and hang up about 5 times until they finally answer me again. I will never recommend them. I also told my dentist who recommend him to me that he is such a rip off.

The staff here is incompetent. First let me say the staff is unbelievable and so friendly. Dr S is the frickin' man he has to be the most straight forward caring dentist I have ever met. Not only did he put me at ease he let me know so much more on this next step of getting dentures. Dr. Selznick was Very Friendly & took time to Show Me what was happening in my Situation, after a Recent Serious Fall on my Face. I Fractured Numerous Bones and was a Consideration for Surgery. Instead of just Saying 100% have Surgery, Now, he Assured Me To Wait & See, to Recheck a week later to see how I was Healing. By doing that, Twice & Watching my Fractures, that are Healing on their Own & If it keeps up, I won't have to have Any Surgery! Would rate a zero if I could. Gissell & Jaime were very rude and unprofessional. placed me on a long hold in the middle of our conversation and did not even tell me she was placing me on hold. Held over 20+ mins until I hung up and called back. Calling to schedule a simple appointment. I’m not sure how people so rude and unprofessional have a jobs.

Dr. Selznick is hilarious. Awesome, laid back bedside manner. My daughter has high anxiety when it comes to the dentist, and the laughing gas seemed to have given her the opposite effect when she tried to get her teeth extracted with our regular dentist. Her orthodontist referred Dr. Selznick to us so she could get her 3 teeth extracted. Because he is so good at what he does, the office was full, and the wait did take about an hour to an hour and a half, however, the procedure took less than 15 minutes to get done. So glad we went with Dr. Selznick!

This surgeon is amazing. I've had oral surgery before and Dr Selznik is hands down the best! He makes you feel comfortable and communicates with you .. I dont even remember falling asleep but remember small talk to make me relax. I had 2 extractions one of which was a completely broken off tooth . I have minimal pain ( which never happens) and no bruising whatsoever ever . I also suffer from TMJ and didn't experience any "locked jaw" after the procedure . I trust Dr Selznik 100% and if any of my babies need something (wisdom teeth) I will DEFINITELY be returning !

I just got 4 wisdom teeth pulled today and it was ZERO pain. I was so nervous at first but then Dr. Selznick and his assistant did an amazing job! It has been 8 hours after the surgery and I’m still feeling comfortable (no pain at all). I forgot how to take my prescription and I called his 24/7 office number. I cannot leave a review on the doctor, but dealing with his staff who answer the phone is very difficult. This office definitely has very serious training issues, as every time you call you will get conflicting and different information. As an example, we called and received a quote on extractions for an upper denture. In subsequent calls we were told they would never quote a a price without a consultation. So I guess they're now calling me a liar. And the list goes on with other misinformation we received.

Dr Selznick is terrific I have had a total removal and of my left mandible and I also had extensive reconstruction he knew what surgery had been done he was capable of doing my extractions and a removal of some kind of bone growth in the middle of my upper palate been to about four dentist and and none had ever made me feel so confident done at start of virus I was quite leary everything done according to sterile technique and cherry on top he's a nice guy!

I'd give this doc zero stars if I could. He's kind of creepy. He hit on his young assistant in front of a room full of patients. I could tell she felt uncomfortable, and I don't blame her. Anytime the boss hits on you at work, you feel as if your job is at stake. Not professional of the doctor, at ALL. Look outside of work, Selznick. I'm sure there are a ton of women who'd be impressed by your superficial charms and the car with the "big engine under the hood."

He also told my son I was out of line inquiring about the anesthesia and whether it would affect him negatively, and whether it's safe. I'm not overly protective, but I ask questions like that about my son, because he wouldn't think to ask them.

When Selznick was alone with my son, he told him, in so many words, that it wasn't "appropriate behavior on my part". I reported him for that to the local organization that oversees dentists.

I'd go to Dr. Hshieh at Smile Haven every time, rather than Selznick.

This review is completely overdue. Dr Selznick changed my life. A long time ago I was assaulted and hit over 20 times with brass knuckles .My teeth were knocked out along with the bones in my gums shattered. Dr Selznick took bone grafts from my jaw and was able to replace the bone in my gums and give me the most perfect veneer implants that gets me compliments till this day. I can't even explain the difference Dr Selznick made in my life. He is straight to the point and gets the job done. This review should have been done 10 years ago and I still think about how great of a surgeon he is till this day.

I never in my life got disrespected and talk down to as I did from dr. Jay Selznick. He is dishonest self righteous and would rather be right than be president. Hey call me he is an Orthodox Jewish doctor and if his spirituality is a representation of the path that he's following I would want nothing of it. He told me after I had two teeth extracted that from day 3 to 5 was was going to be the worst pain and from day five to seven could be just as bad. I am severely deconditioned because I have been bedridden most of the last 9 years. I need a hip replacement a shoulder replacement surgery on both sides of my neck and have COPD. I'm close to losing to my boxer dog from from cancer and lost my Mom 2 years ago so I am by myself. On two conversations I had with dr. zelnick telling me it's normal to still be in extreme pain the worst between day 3 and 5 and could easily continue from day 5 through 7. He he told me Friday night May 18th to take my own medication two tablets Witcher 10 milligram of Oxycodone every 4 hours which I did. When I met him Monday morning and I told him my pain was still real bad he said this is normal so continue to take my medication if I needed for pain which I continue to take notes on how I took it but Monday night May 21st 2 Wednesday morning May 23rd. When I spoke to in the guy name HImie on Tuesday I asked if i should continue his instructions as far as the pain medication which I did. He then call me Wednesday morning and said the most degrading things to me for 10 minutes and will not let me get a word in edgewise. If he didn't want me to continue taking the medication while I was in extreme pain he should have stated so Monday morning when he gave me a prescription to cover the last two and a half days and again Monday night when the pain was getting worse and I didn't understand why. But instead I'm doing this I just trust in what he said that it was not abnormal for me to be in this much pain and continue to take the medication. Through all my other issues with my hip and my shoulder needs to get replaced meaning surgery on both sides of my neck I have managed to get by with a minimum amount of medication either 12 hours apart one tablet in the last 8 months at the pain center with 8 hours apart one tablet. I'm also proud to say but I have been in recovery and March 26th I celebrated 23 years clean. There is a pamphlet called and Times of illness where you have to take medication which I have been sponsored through this and I have more medication and I was supposed to. This doctor degraded my recovery and acted like a dr. Jekyll and d people next to me one speaker where he repeated this three to five day and this 5 to 7 Day time frame to me. Again he then contradicted and said in 10 years he never had a patient that needed to take the medication more than a couple days and that I was being an active addict in this situation which is completely the opposite what he shared with me Friday night Monday morning and Wednesday morning besides HImie from his office on Tuesday telling me to continue his instructions on this medication. He's a disgrace spiritual course that I am on and I promise whatwhat he with my blood pressure and my heart rate. He should answer to somebody. Nobody should have this much power in the medical profession.. II think mentioned I have two witnesses when I had it on speaker phone that also overheard his instructions to me. I know in his mind he's recovering addicts who who has been Clean for 26 years and 32 years would be to other people that he would talk down to but I have found the people in the program that are truly working on themselves to the 12 steps of recovery I would take over anything he has to offer. This story of what happened to me needs to be heard by the public. I hope somebody on this email got the heart behind what was written so no one else can be taken advantage of as I was. I have had the pleasure of being assisted by Nevada Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery twice in a year and a half. The office staff are very pleasant and were attentive during my visit. And then to my daughter as well, during her visit in August of 2017. I love that the back office dental rooms, they are very well kept and inviting and the wait time is never long. My visit was short and simple, a wisdom tooth had been pulled by another dentist and a piece was left deep in the gum line. That dentist referred me to Dr. Selznick, who recommended that it not be removed and that it would possibly do more harm than good if removed. I followed his advice and haven't had any problems. My daughter unfortunately, had a more severe problem. She had sustained several facial fractures in an unfortunate situation and we were referred again to Nevada Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery offices. We saw Dr. Selznick and he spoke to us about his recommendations on fixing the problem. I agreed with his advice, technique and the procedures taken. I trust his opinions and respect his honesty. He and his staff are wonderful in general and go above and beyond for their patients. I wish all care providers had the same initiative towards all patients. If you are looking for an EXCELLENT oral surgery, Dr. Jay Selznick is the one to see!! He's the BEST if you ask me. He will bring a smile to your face knowing that you are in good hands!! I have Medicaid. There are only 2 oral surgeons in the valley that accept Amerigroup. This doctor, and the UNLV school of dental medicine. I was not going there. Although this office is super busy, and you may have to schedule your appointment months out, it's so worth it. The doctor and his technicians are so nice and efficient. The whole process of having my wisdom teeth removed was straightforward. His front office employees got me back in quickly when my mouth was slow to heal to help ease my anxiety and pain. Highly recommend.
