I gave Summerlin Vision Center a one-star rating because I was not informed that my appointment and any follow-up exams would not be covered by my insurance. I only found out at the end of my visit, which left me responsible for paying the full cost out of pocket. This lack of communication was very disappointing and unprofessional.

Patients should be clearly informed about insurance coverage prior to receiving services. I would appreciate it if you could review this matter and take appropriate steps to prevent similar situations in the future

My first visit of 4 but I enjoyed my experience so far. Very helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and nice. I am getting the IPL for dry eyes but for my whole face as well as the opus laser, and the prices are really good! I am very hopeful for my results 🤞🏽

Update: the doc burned my skin & said that's normal because the skin is thin on my forehead. Incorrect, I've had IPL before and the previous doctors did not burn my skin. It was too strong for my melanin (Filipina) and they wouldn't admit it. Wouldn't recommend.

The doctors and front desk staff were great when I've gone which grants the star (would have been 5 stars for them), but now I'm strongly inclined to find another office. The lady who sells glasses and contacts is so rude and offputting. I can't remember if she has been there when I have gone in prior years since I never buy from them.

She is like a used car salesman: she either has no idea what she's talking about and tries to gaslight you because she's clueless, or she's a scam artist trying to pressure you into spending more than you need to. Either option isn't a good look for Summerlin Vision. She didn't give me options for what types of lenses I'd be buying, even though every other place I've bought lenses gave me a menu of options with prices and explanations of benefits. She didn't even tell me what she decided to order for me and just told me the total. When I asked, she quickly ran through them without clarifying what they meant. She also made some comments that clearly indicated she was just trying to upsell when she had no idea what she was talking about. She makes a big show about knowing what she's doing when she said several incorrect things that were obviously to upsell. She also billed insurance incorrectly. When I made comments about my experience with the glasses she ordered both prior to the order and after they were received, she tried to gaslight me and was incredibly rude when it all could have been avoided if she listened to me the first time. She doesn't even give an itemized receipt when you make the order, which is incredibly shady. I think her name is Nelly. The last thing anyone wants when going to a doctor's office is to feel like they're being scammed and gaslit so they can't trust the office's recommendations.

Seeing at least two other reviews had the same experience with this rude lady should indicate to the office they need to reassess her employment there. I bet other people have just left the office without providing feedback.

I am extremely unhappy with the service I received from this eye doctor’s office following my last appointment, and unfortunately this experience has cost them a patient.

To be clear, my appointment with Dr. Madsen was pleasant and went smoothly. However, I later discovered that the contact lens prescription I received was written incorrectly. When I attempted to place an online order for contacts in late 2025, the retailer informed me that the product description and specifications on the prescription did not match, making the order impossible to fulfill. The prescription itself was wrong.

After being notified of the discrepancy, I contacted the office and spent a significant amount of time trying to explain the issue over the phone. After repeating myself multiple times, I was eventually told that a revised prescription would be emailed to me. However, I was also told there was “nothing they could do” about the fact that my 2025 contact lens benefits went unused as a result of this error and the timing as we are now into 2026.

This is incredibly frustrating and unfair. Had the prescription been written correctly in the first place, this situation would never have occurred. Instead of taking responsibility, I was met with deflection. At one point, the staff member I spoke with even suggested that I must have placed the order incorrectly, which was simply not true. I was also advised to contact my insurance company myself to see if they might offer credit for the unused benefits. Again shifting the burden onto me to resolve a problem I did not create.

Mistakes happen, but how an office responds to them matters. In this case, there was no accountability and no meaningful attempt to make things right. I will not be returning.

This has been my favorite optometrist for the past 4 years since I moved to Las Vegas from Dallas TX. I like that it’s close to home and it’s conveniently located next to a Costco shopping center and close to the 215 freeway. The location is perfect! Dr. McCraffrey is amazing. My experience here was outstanding then absolutely horrendous. I’m pretty sure when I asked for my current glasses to be tightened and adjusted they broke my frames and without telling me replaced them with the stock on the wall. The staff brought them out to me without communicating the situation and the woman who presented them to me was aggressive and seemed mad at me when I wasn’t even aware of the situation. On top of that I was charged incorrectly and had to complete a remote bill settlement online after leaving. I’m sad this experience was so horrible. Since they made me feel very insecure I left without the glasses being made just right and they flew off my head that night almost causing an accident. I’m very disappointed in my experience.

The doctor is amazing - the office staff is mean. I felt so belittled and attacked regarding my situation. The staff failed to communicate the details of how and why my frames were broken. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough which was a mistake because I needed to go back to get my glasses adjusted. I’m beyond upset and will NEVER buy glasses from Summerlin Vision again. If I could go and avoid talking to any staff besides the doctor I would.

I was there several weeks ag for an exam I had my exam and picked out my glasses. I was first annoyed that even with my vison benefits that allocated me one frame per year that I still walked about paying almost $400 its ok though because when I first started coming here $400 was like $4 to me so I didnt trip on that part so much. I asked how long it would take and was told 10 days. So normally I am super impatient but waiting 10 days seemed normal. So then 2 week passed no phone call, no text no email I was told I would receive a text. Mind you I received a ton of text message leading up to my appointment from them so I know they had the number. So today June 27th I called because I need my glasses and I asked for status. They woman whose name I didnt bothered to remember smugly told me that my glasses had been there since the 18th. She said her colleague texted and emailed me that day. See I dont text much so any text I would have seen it so knew that was a lie and I checked my email no email. So this review is not about Dr Civia its about the staff who doesnt give you an itemized price breakdown of what you are getting when you get glasses that just give you a total and then they dont call you. Today they lost a customer and I will not be back sucks cause I work in walking distance of this place

This was a great experience. Summerlin vision was first class all the way. The exams were thorough and really insightful. I learned a lot about my vision and everybody was incredibly nice. Excellent first-time experience for me and my son. I was looking at three Optometrists and went with Summerlin Vision based on their reviews. My first impression was the friendly and professional staff. The nice and clean office. I really liked the atmosphere and vibe I felt when we first walked into the office. It was my son and I first eye exam, and we went to our appointment thinking we were going to be seen by Dr. MacCaffrey, but we were seen by Dr. A. but it was okay. Maybe the lady that booked our appointment over the phone said it will be with Dr. A and I may not have heard her clearly, but anyway, I was happy we were able to get an appointment asap. Our experience with Dr. A. was excellent. She took her time and explained everything to me, including my sons exam. She was friendly, professional, kind, and patient, and we didn't feel rushed. Brooklyne was very kind, friendly, patient as well and was very helpful with picking out our frames especially mine and he also took his time explaining to me how the progressive lenses I chose work and just making sure I made the right choice for myself and I appreciated that because it's important that I'm comfortable with it because it will be new for me to wear glasses all day especially at work. Overall great experience.

Great experience. The staff was fantastic and very helpful. I have struggled for years with getting contacts that fit my eyes, and Dr. McCaffrey made it clear she’d get them in. I just got the contacts and was able to get them in. Everybody was professional and personable. It was a very pleasant experience.

Dr. McCaffrey is absolutely amazing. I took my 8yr old daughter for an eye exam. Instead of getting new glasses (since my daughter in an athlete) Dr. McCaffrey suggested another solution, which has been a true blessing. My daughter no longer needs to wear glasses and her vision is perfect. I can’t thank Dr. McCaffrey enough. If you have children in sports or you are an athlete yourself, I highly recommend seeing Dr. McCaffrey.

I had a fantastic experience at my optometrist’s office! I came in to try out contacts, and they also gave me pricing for glasses without any pressure to buy. It was such a relaxed and enjoyable visit. The staff was friendly and professional, making sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I went here for the first time today and the staff was so nice from the minute I walked in. I was really nervous because my eyes are very sensitive and I have had bad experiences in the past. I’ve been a patient here for several years, and Dr. McCaffrey is very knowledgeable and professional. I recently saw Dr. A for the first time, and she was excellent also.

The office is very efficient and I have always received great service. Their frame selection is excellent and the pricing is far better than other offices I have visited in Las Vegas. They have a wide variety of frame choices and I am always surprised at what a good value my pricey prescription ends up being here! I’m able to get glasses + sunglasses for what I would pay for just my frames at my former provider (same insurance coverage.)
