My first visit to Ascend Dental was three days ago. I waited to see how my total experience would feel like. This is it, after a “deep cleaning”, I can sometime feel a little discomfort. Nothing this time, my hygienist, she was extremely detailed and gentle! My teeth & gums are breathing quite well now, that’s the feeling I’ve been left with. The doctor, after reviewing my cleaning & x-rays explained the history and present status of my gum’s and teeth. As well as the do’s and don't s for my future maintenance. I totally enjoyed my visit. Be extremely cautious when considering this dental office. From the beginning, the experience felt more like a sales pitch than patient-centered care. I was advised to replace the implant crown on my front tooth, and I agreed to proceed with the treatment.

Unfortunately, after three separate attempts to correct issues with the crown, the situation only worsened. The process involved what felt like excessive and aggressive manipulation of the implant area, and I was left with a loose implant crown that protrudes outward and sits noticeably crooked on my front tooth.

I have since sought opinions from two specialists, both of whom expressed serious concerns about the work that had been performed. As a result, I have decided to start over with a new dentist because I no longer feel confident allowing anyone at Ascend, including Dr. Luong, to attempt further corrections.

This experience has been stressful, expensive, and disappointing. I encourage anyone considering treatment here, especially involving implant work, to seek a second opinion before moving forward.

This office, formerly Dr. Tozzi’s practice, recently changed guard and I’d say it’s been a net positive experience. The new dentist, Dr. Luong, immediately found 4 cavities on an X-ray that the former office had taken yet never pointed out to me within seconds of our initial meeting. Dr. Timothy Luong, DDS is the current owner. I have been a patient at this location since the original owner and there was a few years after she left where multiple dentists covered the office and care was patchy.
The New Ascend office has an Excellent Dentist, Dental Asst, Hygienist, Front Desk and Billing. I don't want to misspell any of their names I'm still learning them all! This is Now the best dental office I have been to since moving to Las Vegas in 1990. Their extensive experience is evident in each of their positions and they work well together as a team. Dr. Luong offers laser gum treatments which are not expensive and their new liquid fluoride treatment I need is much better than the old gel version. He mentioned botox injections are now available to relax jaw for TMJ, but I'm confident he uses the most up to date evidence based practice for whatever your conditions are. Another HUGE improvement is their billing professional, who is on top of her game. Billing is handled SO much better. I came out of my exam and she had my paperwork with prices and how much both my insurances would handle. My costs were minimal for 2 crowns. I find their prices are more reasonable now and Dr. Luong is mindful of treating the most urgent problems first and spacing out work you need so it's not a financial burden. He explains everything, answers questions and emphasizes preventative care which I agree with.
I have been Dr. Luong's patient since his first days taking ownership of Ascend in January 2026 and the rest of the staff existing and as they came aboard and feel that I'm a good judge of medical and dental skills and professional conduct. I was an RN over 10yr including work in Quality Management at acute care hospitals. I wrote hospital policies and audited medical providers. I am also a Very experienced dental patient due to the vast amount of work I've had since childhood, including multiple oral surgeries, grafts, implants and 3 sets of orthodontics.
If you've had bad experiences with other dentists, you should try this highly competent Dentist and his Staff. I guarantee Ascend dental will give you ethical care that is superior to any other provider in Las Vegas.

I can no longer recommend Ascend Dental Studio in Henderson. They seem to have let go of the best people who made the place worthwhile. The professional, kind, and truly caring staff--including Dr. Matt, Tracey, and the hygienist--are gone, and the quality has suffered dramatically as a result.
I recently went in for a routine cleaning. During the procedure, I was told I had to wear the black plastic protective glasses, or I wasn't welcome there and should leave. When I explained to Dr. Timothy Luong that I'm severely claustrophobic and have a history of panic attacks from previous life-threatening surgeries, he showed zero empathy. He didn't listen to my concerns at all--he simply insisted on the glasses and, when I couldn't comply due to my medical condition, asked me to leave immediately.
This complete lack of compassion and accommodation for a legitimate health issue was shocking and unacceptable. No effort was made to discuss alternatives or understand my situation. I felt dismissed and disrespected as a patient.
I will never step foot in Ascend Dental again and strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this practice.

I had an extraction done yesterday by Dr. Luong for a tooth with an old root canal that simply wasn’t holding up anymore. The entire procedure was incredibly quick and completely painless. He removed the tooth in a single pull, which I truly believe was the result of his thorough and careful prep work beforehand.

I’ve had similar extractions done by two other dentists in town, and both times the procedures were much more difficult and drawn out. Dr. Luong’s technique and experience really stood out to me — he made what could have been a stressful situation feel easy.

I’ll also be working with him on an implant for this tooth, and based on this experience, I’m confident his work will be just as exceptional. I highly recommend Dr. Luong to anyone needing dental work done with skill and care.

My first time here. Came here on a recommendation and cause my previous dental officed closed. I’ve been coming to this dental office since I was five years old—over 30 years now! Over the years, dentists and some hygienists have retired, but the quality of care has always remained excellent. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to scheduling and billing questions. I truly appreciate the care I’ve received from the hygienists through the years, and it means a lot to now have my own children seen here as well. 😊

Update - Feb2025 - I wanted to update & share my experience again at Ascend Dental. I had to have a tooth treated & was pretty anxious about the needle(s). The hygienist was very understanding & helped relieve some of the stress by using the air/water machine to help me think of something else. It honestly distracted me just enough to not feel the needle. I am super thankful for her empathy as well as Dr. Luong’s light touch!
