I had a really positive experience at Desert Hope Treatment Center in Las Vegas. The staff were one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed my time there. They were caring, supportive, and genuinely wanted to see me succeed. The food was also surprisingly good, and having decent meals made a big difference during treatment. Most importantly, the program helped me a lot personally and gave me tools and support that I can take with me moving forward. I’m grateful for the people I met, the staff who helped me along the way, and the experience as a whole. I would definitely recommend Desert Hope to someone who is serious about making a change and getting their life back.

Worst place to go get clean, they have people selling drugs in there, they let them stay after finding out who it is, they say they are a couples rehab but they are not they don't let you do anything but couples counseling once a wk don't solve nothing and you go to group together and chow but you walk in circles around the building they try to get you to worry about you not how you can leave in a relationship or help each other stay sober and they will discharge you then say you was unsuccessful and kick you out to the streets the day before you leave to go home also they say they will email you paper work to show you was there for court but still haven't received anything

Worst detox to go to they lie to you and the rooms are dirty most the time they don't clean up right they have bugs in your room and your shower there are some great staff there but then you got the front breaking hippa law calling the people here for help junkies also they try and hold your wallet like you are in prison. They threaten you and tell you if you don't go to all four groups they will kick you out and put you out in heat that can kill you most the time the temperature outside is in the triple digits....Why would I contact you directly so you can do the same thing to me I just wanted to be treated equally...But like I said they ha e some great staff but not as many as there should be

What an incredible staff and facility. Desert Hope gave me just that. Hope for a better future in recovery. The staff was amazing, all of them! There wasn’t a single staff member I didn’t like…and if you know me….that says a lot! Can’t recommend this institution of wellness enough. By far, the best treatment center I’ve been to. A special thanks to April, Jay, Hunter and Maria. ❤️🕊️🦋

I lost a very lovely soul at 21… I would never blame anyone easily as I know my friend and employee had drug addiction…this place is the worst she had a boyfriend after a 30 day stay she could vape and not go to therapist appointments based on healthcare? The stories she told me being able do have sex etc…she was dead a week later after this…don’t it it’s the worst and then tried to bill a 110,000 bill for 30 days that killed my friend..horrible people horrible place do not send your loved ones here please let’s make places like this to not exist 💪🏼🙏

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME let my partner leave 15 days early telling him and full of hope and all the things and he’s right back where he was before he left giving absolutely no cares. This place is an absolute joke. Shame shame, shame on this counselor Daniel Kahn. Can’t reach a single soul there all they have is third-party soulless vendors that don’t care and won’t help. Do not send your loved ones or family members here. Shame on the VA t! Shut this place down now

I truly cannot say enough good things about this program and the people here. They gave me my life back during one of the hardest times in my life, and I will forever be grateful for the care, compassion, and support I received here.
Every staff member I encountered treated me with kindness and respect. The nursing staff was absolutely incredible, always making me feel safe, heard, and cared for. The case managers and therapists went above and beyond to help me heal emotionally and build a strong foundation for recovery.
A huge thank you to Ms. Roberta in the doctor’s office, Hunter, Jay, Richard, AJ, Olga, Ms. Rhonda, Maddie the alumni coordinator, and everyone who worked to make this experience as smooth and supportive as possible.
I want to recognize Ms. Rhonda for how thoughtfully she handled the transition downstairs. She did an amazing job planning everything out so patients wouldn’t have to deal with unnecessary stress or abrupt change. Even down to keeping room assignments and views as similar as possible, despite being on the other side of the building, it showed such a high level of care and consideration for the emotional comfort of patients during transition.
I also want to thank Aida from housekeeping for being so kind and always greeting me with a smile. It may seem like a small thing, but those moments of warmth and positivity truly made a difference in my days there.
The kitchen staff also deserves recognition because the food was consistently great, and I honestly had no complaints during my stay. They clearly put effort into making meals enjoyable and comforting. If you have special dietary needs, the nutritionist comes every Monday and Friday, and you’re able to review the menu with her and discuss what foods are best for you, which I thought was incredibly helpful and thoughtful.
And finally, I want to sincerely thank Joe at corporate. He helped make it possible for me to receive my Brand Promise, and that meant more to me than words can fully express. I’ll always be grateful for his help and advocacy.
Recovery is not easy, but having a team like this behind you can truly change your life. Thank you all for helping me find hope, stability, and myself again.

Absolutely LOVED Desert Hope! They helped me so much in my recovery, without judgement. Hunter was an amazing Nurse and always made sure I was okay and I had what I needed medically. My counselor Nisha really helped me get to the root of why I was drinking and gave me the tools I needed to maintain sobriety. Maddie was my favorite, she is so down to earth and completely understands the daily struggle. Being an addict herself she had a no nonsense but down to earth approach that I really resonated with. She definitely goes the extra mile to make sure you’re okay mentally. All in all I’d give it a 10/10 and would reccomend it to anyone struggling. It takes a village!

This place is amazing. Great place to detox and get clean no matter the DOC (drug of choice). Councilors, staff, nurses and TPA's are the best. Very clean and comfortable. I was a self pay and didn't have to deal with insurance stuff but they are exactly what I needed. I came from Tennessee and it was worth the trip. That said, it doesn't matter what they say or do you have to want to change. And, if you do I would highly recommend Desert Hope in Las Vegas.
Update: Almost a year later I'm still clean. To me this proves that they work. The best of the best.
Another update... 3 years later: Im still clean and its all with the help of these folks. Thank you vary much!

My cousin went to this place before going to another. This place is a big facility tucked away in the ghetto I don't understand why most of the places are like this in Vegas I don't know if it's because people can drink and get high 24/7 pretty much but my cousin is having a hard time he does not seem to want to leave Vegas, but he's always getting into addiction. But then again he's like that everywhere he goes so I don't know if it's the facility or just him. I just hope I get him some help

Desert Hope truly changed my life, but what sets them apart is the alumni program. Recovery doesn’t stop when treatment ends, and Desert Hope really understands that.
The alumni program makes you feel supported, connected, and remembered long after you leave. From check-ins to events and ongoing encouragement, it reminds you that you’re not doing this alone. It helped me stay accountable, build community, and continue growing in my recovery.
The staff genuinely care and want to see you succeed long-term — not just while you’re in treatment, but in real life after. I’m so grateful for the support, relationships, and foundation Desert Hope gave me.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for treatment and real aftercare support.

Went through the program and it was nice. However, I relapsed and have tried to return but they have three times made my appointment and then turned me away for some reason or another. Want me to do detox before coming, realized the old insurance I had didnt cover them despite being told it did. Another time I had a week sober and went to go to their day program but they refused me saying I needed proof of completing a detox. Huh? They will turn you away crying and loaded without a second thought. They will tell you you are all good to come in on the phone, then change when you arrive.

Accomodations are great, there's only 2 to a room. They assigned you a therapist, a doctor, you have access to a nurse 24/7, a great facility. You eat 3 meals a day and is cared for in every way. I only have issues with having group 7 days a week for around 7 hours a day, they should give you a day or two off. Other than that I would recommend this facility.

Desert Hope is a decent treatment center overall. One of the nice things about the program is that residents are allowed to have their cell phones, which helps you stay connected and not feel completely cut off from the outside world. The facility is clean and organized, and the staff seem to genuinely care.
That said, there’s definitely room for improvement. The food could be healthier—especially for those trying to build a lifestyle around recovery and wellness. The groups can feel a bit dry at times and would benefit from being more interactive and engaging. It would also be great to see more outdoor or extracurricular activities, like BBQs or friendly sports competitions, to remind residents that sobriety can actually be fun and full of connection.
All in all, Desert Hope provides a safe and structured place to start your recovery journey, but with a few improvements, it could be an even more motivating and well-rounded experience.

So I am currently at the inpatient desert hope treatment center in Las Vegas and I have nothing but good things to say about the facility. The facility is nice and the food is great. My caseworker, Sabrina, has gone above and beyond all expectations and has helped me tremendously throughout the process. Desert Hope truly lives up to its name — it gave me hope when I needed it most. From the moment I arrived, I felt supported, understood, and cared for. The staff genuinely care about your recovery and go out of their way to help you feel safe and heard. The counselors and therapists are knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to helping each person find their own path to healing.

Desert Hope truly changed my life. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, supported, and understood. The staff genuinely care about each person who walks through their doors — they don’t just treat addiction; they help heal the mind, body, and spirit.
The therapists, nurses, and recovery coaches Special Shout Daniel (counselor ) went above and beyond to make sure I felt safe, encouraged, and guided every step of the way. The groups were powerful and eye-opening, helping me uncover the reasons behind my addiction and giving me the tools to build a healthy, sober life. Especially the Techs
The environment was peaceful and full of hope, surrounded by people who actually “get it.” I learned so much about myself and built a solid foundation for recovery that I never thought was possible before coming here.
If you or someone you love is struggling, I can honestly say Desert Hope is a place where real change happens. I’m leaving here stronger, healthier, and truly hopeful for my future. Thank you, Desert Hope — you gave me my life back! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was a patient there exactly 5 years ago.
I relapsed at the airport and couldn’t make it back home thanks to the quality (or lack of) care that Desert Hope provided.
AAC charges $5,000 a day if you’re out of pocket and God knows what they charge insurance. It’s a scam to make money. They really don’t offer much beyond advertising the AA program. Addiction treatment in the U.S.A. fails because 1) the treatment philosophy is stuck in the 1930s and 2) there is a lack of available health care.
After I returned home, it took me another 6 months before I ended up homeless. I moved to a state with free medicaid, they helped me get SSDI, and after another 50 ER and hospital admissions which now I could afford thanks to Medicaid, I got on a MAT program and became sober.
Please read about how European countries approach addiction. They have far better results with much less money spent.
As for this place, the staff were mostly untrained, did not care, or were just flat out rude to you. There was a lot of inappropriate relationships between patients; many of which are included in other reviews.
The main Desert Hope “campus” is OK but after two weeks they move you to Resolutions which used to a hotel. Discontinue treatment and check out DO NOT go to Resolutions!!!! I would rather go back to a psychiatric department at any hospital rather than that place. The food is terrible, the facilities scream relapse not rehab, and there is basically no staff around ever to help you.
Science is needed to fight addiction. Medicine is needed. That and a new place to start life over. You can’t be expected to stay sober if you’re returned to the same circumstances that triggered your use in the first place! Wake up people! You don’t need lectures on how great AA is!

My soon to be ex-wife was there until 2 weeks ago, she milked me out of 10,000 dollars and supposedly successfully completed the program to leave this facility with another patient that she had been in an intimate relationship with for well over two months. She is divorcing me because she found the love of her life and is shacked up with him. This place should be shut down for allowing such inappropriate behavior!

While in and out of treatment he goes back one last time where they tell the former NBA player he can come back but he has to be at the pot sink washing pots and pans for i think they said around 10 hrs a day for days. He goes on to state "I found myself at that pot sink".Desert Hope has been MY pot sink and I am truly grateful! 💜
The staff from front desk to housekeeping are fantastic. Shout out to Ari the clinical director for making miracles happen for me, my case manager Vivian (if you decide to do the next right thing and choose Desert Hope request her), April (counselor), Nisha(counselor), my favorite TA's (Stevie, Brittany, Linda, Mark, Booker, Tommy), the kitchen staff especially my boy Jimmy, Nurses Karen and Olga, the people who run our little store here, the housekeeping staff and last but definitely not least Richard (he is my bread and butter). I want to give Richard a special shout out. I can't say how grateful I am for you! Thank you for caring enough to tell me things I may not want to hear but need to, thank you for standing on business, and thank you for caring enough to push us daily to prepare for struggles that may arise (cause there will definitely be struggles)! Oh cant forget Ms. Roberta. Thank you all again!
I want to share with you something i wrote while in treatment:
Into the unknown:
Over the years I have gotten sober and have even been able to stay "dry" for 3 years one time, but I have NEVER worked a program of recovery. This is what I say is my 4th time (many many more times than that, but 4th treatment center) and this time I am walking one foot in front of the other "into the unknown", for me anyways. This time I had reached MY rock bottom and am willing to do ANYTHING to fight my way out. From flying across country for treatment, to getting up EVERY morning (some days my feet dont wanna hit the ground but im doing it anyways) at 4:45 so I can be walking from 5-6 (its not about the distance but that im getting up and doing it), im listening to positive affirmations while im in the shower (I may cuss the lady on Youtube occassionally because I think she is too happy, but I do it anyways), I
got denied financial assistance for sober living so I took it upon myself and typed up a financial hardship letterand submitted it and was accepted on the spot (a HUGE win for me because I didnt play poor pitiful me, I showed up for myself and didnt take no for an answer, and most importantly I FINALLY at the age of 43 dropped to my knees for the first time while bawling and told God im turning it all over to him and asked him to show me the way. As I walk into MY unkown I do it now with confidence because I now know I CAN DO HARD THINGS!!
I hope if anyone is struggling with addiction I hope you know YOU ARE WORTH IT, YOU ARE LOVED, AND YOU ARE ENOUGH!

Desert hope is so amazing and has always helped me further along I've had to return multiple times and most people take it as a bad thing but I can't cause each time I've found more that will always help me in life I just wish I could return the same love to them and be a true graduate from them for once it's my fault and no one else for not being able to complete the program but I'm greatful no matter wat and everyone of the staff are amazing and passionate in everything they do for the patients ur not only a person your family to them and they help everyone become something I love you all and thank you forever for every moment you have given me and I hope to one day be able to show the true gratitude and complete my recovery finally but for now I'm still struggling and never giving up like u all taught me is the most important thing to your sobriety always come back and pick urself up if you fall

I just wanted to make a clear statement about desert hope treatment center! When It comes to case management, Terri has been the most caring delightful blunt case managers I’ve ever experienced! She is direct and to the point but with the concern and care of a loving mother, who wants to see people succeed! As if I was her very own child! Ari the clinical director will go to bat for the clients as well! These two together were a unique dynamic duo that have their own individually, but when push comes to shove these women and the nurses alike go above and beyond for those who are serious! I recommend Desert hope because their; they genuinely Care and gave me a sense of family like I haven’t experienced since I was a small child! And because of the Addict of a tyrant mindset he could never come out! Now my life is filled with the glow of the inner child within each of us! My life is filled with love joy peace patience kindness goodness meekness faithfulness and self control! All I’m saying is I wouldn’t be who I am today without the love, concern and care of the desert hope team! A big Thank you to God first and Thank you Terri and Ari secondly for helping God save me through y’all’s facility! In Jesus’ name I pray Amen and Amen!

Carolyn( caseworker )Karen(nurse ), and Emily( T.A) are the holy Trinity of desert hope. These woman are kickass and got me to stay all the way threw my treatment. Carolyn is a very detailed caseworker and honestly taught me while also making me feel cmsafe to share things I don't even share with my partner. Karen put up with my mood swings and when you meet her she will show you what a nurse is supposed to be. She's the best nurse I've met and I've worked in healthcare. She's incredibly caring and hardworking. Em convinced me to stay threw my detox. I wouldn't be 20 days sober without her. If any of you guys ready this THANK YOU

Desert Hope should be ashamed.
They flew my stepson from Florida to Las Vegas for treatment, then gave him the bill for his airfare. After just three weeks, they kicked him out, claiming they found pills and urine in his room. Whether that’s true or not, the result is the same: he’s now stranded 2,000 miles from home, and they’re calling us to figure out how to get him back to Florida.
Is this your idea of care? Recruiting vulnerable people from across the country, billing insurance, and then dumping patients on the street when things get complicated? No support, no accountability, just abandonment.
This isn’t just unethical, it’s dangerous. It’s practices like these that contribute to the growing homelessness crisis in Las Vegas. Desert Hope should be investigated for insurance fraud and patient neglect. Families, beware!

I can honestly say even though this was my first time in recovery it was an incredible experience the staff were amazing and understanding which helped greatly with the process of healing I would recommend this place to anyone going through addiction looking for a safe place to not feel judged or belittled I would say don’t hold back and if your really looking to get sober they will help you get there an even when you feel like it’s to much remember what you do it for remember the losses and let it out and go this is the best place to do it and if you don’t believe me go check it out for yourself and they say they won’t hold you back from leaving but they’ll always be there when you decide it’s time and come back-Dejhon

Okay let's start with the beginning! Intake is great! They are respectful and friendly! The Ladies at the front are great upon intake. Now after a few days. They expect you to start going to groups which are four groups a day. Now this is where my issues arise. They give you a detox window which is great but I was told by my counselor one day that if I didn't start going to group everyday. That my electronics would be confiscated and that if I messed up again I would be kicked out of the program. On top of that I had some medical issues arise and when I took it to the nurses station I was pretty much ignored first. Second I was told and I quote "you are fine drink more water"! It seemed to me that to get anything actually done that you had to be a certain ethnic group to get it. Now the facility itself is clean the food is great. And I do understand that some people come in eat food sleep in the bed and then just go back out there that they're not really trying to see recovery. But what I think that this facility and most of these rehab centers don't get it's not everybody the same and they shouldn't treat everybody as the same. In some aspects well most aspects because it seems to me my observation was that certain ethnics were helped more than certain others. If you are a addict and are a first-time program cover I do recommend Desert Hope . But if you are an alcoholic or an addict that has made a relapse I do not recommend Desert Hope!

What a SAD SAD place.... In the short time there i never saw anyone successfully complete the program. Unsuccessful discharge after unsuccessful discharge.... The nurse's try their best. But it's a unorganized mess.... Small chances of true sobriety... Don't let them trick you into flying across the country you will be stuck trying like hell to find a way back home or somewhere else.

My name is Barry Love and my experience at Desert Hope was absolutely life-changing. I never thought a group of complete strangers could change the direction of my life so dramatically I had such a great experience at Desert Hope so many knowledgeable professionals that were on my side understood my story and helped me in anyway possible I have to say Miss Pinkerton was probably my favorite music therapy is always been my jam. As far as the attention that you get at this place, it’s the best I’ve ever experienced anywhere. They really care about the people they have in their facility and they really want to get everybody clean that goes in there. I absolutely love this place. I would love to go back to see everybody and tell them how great I’m doing on my journey and it all started with them. Thank you guys very much. I love all of you. Peace love positivity.

I went to this place twice a few years ago and it was a great place. The food is great, staff is amazing the rooms are like hotel rooms. If you are detoxing they make you feel comfortable and are very caring. I wish I could go back so bad as I'm back getting high. For some reason they don't take medicade anymore for impatient not sure why but it's really hot me upset cause I don't want to go to a psyc ward for detox cause that's all that's offered now if ur broke and on Medicaid. Hopefully something will change in the near future and I'm not dead yet and I can go there cause I'm really ready now. But I'll shut up cause I'm just dragging on now. So yes it's a awesome place and the people that get to go are in great hands at a great facility

Overall I got a lot out of my treatment and the peers I met there and some of the counselors I'll never forget. I believe they definitely spearheaded a change in me. I found a higher power and the drive to push forward in a different direction than I have ever been during a journey to sobriety. The reason for 3 stars mainly has to do with the fact while I was there the staff allowed racism to go forward as long as it was back on white. There was multiple incidents with one person against many different people of Caucasian ethnic backgrounds in front of and away from staff. This man was allowed to rome free and nothing was done. There was verbal abuse and swearing at women and men for no reason and they constantly allowed it. I finally had to take matters into my own hands and confront this person because nobody seemed to want to handle it. This created an unsafe feeling for me with him around because I was more on guard than focusing on my sober journey. I do hope this doesn't happen to anyone else again but I don't know what they will do. This had to be addressed because it left me with a sour note on top of the positives I saw there. Great place but poorly run at times and inappropriate behavior is allowed by some and not taken care of.

Desert Hope Review
This Sunday, June 22nd, will mark the beginning of my 3rd week in detox/recovery at the Desert Hope in Las Vegas, Nevada. My experience here , as well as my bounce back recovery in motion has been overwhelmingly positive in just about every aspect. I am emphatic when I recommend Desert Hope as it is certainly a top notch facility with an excellent staff, soup to nuts. One in need should not hesitate a second to put your life in the very capable hands and give yourself the best possible chance of healing your broken self . You will be provided the tools to maximize an outcome which embraces a long term solution to changing your future towards a much better, more rewarding life.
I implore, particularly humongous Las Vegas corporate institutions such as Caesars, MGM Grand, Circa, and Station Casinos Group , to name a few, to devise a continuous funding & charitable network aimed at keeping facilities like Desert Hope functioning on the highest level possible helping recovery for individuals with substance abuse issues. Scaling the long hard journey up the mountain to life saving healing & sobriety is an all to common thread in society and all the help that facilities such as Desert Hope can offer to battle the problem is a welcome addition to cities nationwide and especially Las Vegas for all the obvious reasons.
Below, I wish to recognize some of the many great professionals that make up the staff at Desert Hope. These staffers have been immeasurably important to saving my life and setting me on a solid path forward into the future. They have helped me remember my self worth and sense of well being.

Never got a therapist. Most of the activities never opened. Nobody knows anything about your treatment. They put me on a taper and then kicked me out before it was done which is very dangerous. They kicked me out due to lies by the staff. They even checked the camera and agreed but it was too late. They won't prescribe what they were giving you so they just cause more addiction and dangerous withdrawals.

Desert Hope is an amazing and tranquil place for detox and recovery. Beautiful atmosphere and extremely kind, understanding and knowledgeable staff. In patient detox is very comfortable and lots of help and group processing is extremely helpful. Outpatient is a beautiful experience as well. Top notch counselors that are very serious about helping the recovery process and providing important resources. I learned a lot about my disease of addiction and was given the appropriate tools with unique approaches and group processing. I was extremely blessed to have Miss Jacklyn as my counselor and mentor. Not only does she have a fun approach with her teaching methods, more importantly she understands what individuals are going through and treats everyone with dignity and grace. I have a family member that was at Desert Hope for 30 days then they transferred her to Resolutions (out patient facility) without ever letting us know what was going on even though she signed information release forms. They haven't done anything to prepare her to return home, in fact it feels like they are trying to keep her there as long as my son's insurance will keep paying. NOT 1 SINGLE ATTEMPT HAS BEEN MADE AT FAMILY COUNSELING IN OVER 3 1/2 MONTHS TIME. NOT 1 UPDATE HAS BEEN COMMUNICATED THE ENTIRE TIME. NOT 1 TIME HAS THE FAMILY BEEN INCLUDED IN ANY ASPECT OF THIS TREATMENT PLAN. For you to advertise this and everything else on your website is deceitful, and an outright lie. My son is left at home to take care of their 4 kids and help them get through this, having absolutely no idea what is happening with her or her progress, and absolutely zero support or communication from anyone at Desert Hope, Resolutions, or anyone else involved. He has no idea when her target date is to complete the program! I have thought about complaining to whoever licenses rehabilitation facilities for the state of Nevada but am so busy helping him that I haven't found time to research it yet. We live out of state and sent her there because Addiction Centers of America told us it would be a great place for her - promising family involvement in her treatment and updates regarding her care. Not only have they betrayed us, but even worse, they have betrayed her by not helping her get ready to return home to her kids. We have called and left numerous messages with case managers, counselors, etc. There has even been times the phone just rings, and no one answers it at all. I have 4 grandkids sitting at home who would strongly disagree with your claim of "Healing the whole family" as not 1 single attempt has been made to do a thing to help them, or ANYONE ELSE in the family.

I want to thank the amazing staff at Desert Hope for my recovery. I’ve had the privilege to be there several times (yes it is a privilege to have the opportunity for inpatient recovery) and had wonderful experiences each time.
Everyone from the front desk, including clinical, nursing, housekeeping, and culinary staff, is excellent. Treatment is like anything else; there will be challenges, but at the heart of this organization are highly skilled, passionate, and dedicated staff who are there to help you put your life back together. This is no easy task. I am immensely grateful for the level of care and service they are able to provide.
From my experience, if you do decide on treatment and Desert Hope is a good option for you, soak up all the information possible. Advocate for yourself in a patient, understanding, and professional manner, and the Desert Hope staff will be there to assist in any way possible. I have seen them work some miracles and navigate thru the complicated journey of recovery, insurance payments, FLMA, and Part-time disability among other way to finance the treatment.
Highly recommended!

I've been to this facility a few times and it is a great facility to go to for your substance abuse problems. But on the other hand they are absolutely trash as far as any kind of compassion or seeming desire to help! The last time I was there I discharged ama and am being punished by not being allowed to be readmitted! I was told that I had to wait 3 months before I could be re-admitted and I have waited now about 5 months and when I called just now to see about getting a bed they just told me I had to wait 6 months from the last time I was there even though I am on the phone with them crying and begging for help! I told them all I wanted to do was detox and go back to their so we're living program called resolutions. And all they did was tell me that they could not do anything until the 6-month period was over even though I am out here on the streets in the cold and begging begging for help!

As far as detoxes in Las Vegas go, this one is the best that I've been to. The rooms are like hotel rooms not hospital rooms. The food is amazingly good and you can have as much as you want. More importantly, they detox you from your drug of choice in a very professional yet compassionate manner. As long as you take your medications when and as prescribed, your suffering will be non-existent. Terry helped me out so much finding me aftercare for when I was done I am very grateful to her. Oh and the best part is that after a couple days you can have your phone.
PS If you smoke, make sure you bring plenty of cigarettes because they do NOT provide them to you here.

My son went to Desert Hope with high expectations. He left there Instead he left there bottles of Pills and discharge papers that said he didn't need any follow.up treatment...clearly that was not true. His family is shattered... his wife and children still cry for him.
Having his ashes will never replace his arms around each of us.

Just spent 25 days at Desert Hope and they definitely deserve 5 stars! I enjoyed all of the group's and have such a clean and fresh mindset. The nurse upstairs (Mrs.Roberta) was AWESOME if you have any problems at all ask her for help. The T.A.s were also great! My therapist and case manager handled all my needs for aftercare! There were lots of complains from people about having to leave early bc of insurance but I didn’t have any problems with that. Oh and the food was top notch; not what you would expect at a rehab. The rooms are like a hotel but no T.v. (Housekeeping comes and cleans them every morning) However you can watch T.v in the Rec rooms, play ping pong, board games, cards etc. they also have a volleyball court outside. You can smoke whenever you want, and you get your phone back after 72 hours. Awesome place! If your looking for serious help I definitely recommend here.
(Pictures of meals because they were amazing!)

This place is lucky to get 1 star. I was lied to many times and treated with no respect as well. Drugs all over the facility and is more of a homeless shelter than a rehab. 3 yrs ago was a much nicer experience. I don't know where to begin as far as there lies go but seeing the doctor was one. The TA said I would be seen by 12 that day when I asked why I was not seen it was on there notes I was seen! I went up but the doctor wasn't there n the lady said I didn't wake up but I was literally in my room waiting all day then just said what I wanted. Next it took 2 days to see a doctor on a separate instance! Worst was the way they handled my payment. My wife drove 5 hrs to take them cash n I told admissions 3x to not take the full payment as I needed some cash on my discharge as I lost my wallet. They not only took the payment but didn't notify me! Once I told them she said she already processed payment. This was after her opening the door saying she was closed n what did I want! Of course my case manager had let her know I was going over as it was urgent only to open with those remarks. On the days before my discharge again I talked to the business office about me possibly having to leave a day early due to my transportation n asked if I would get a refund for that day she said no way I would get that money back. They put me on the maintenance program and the doctor and case manager wondered how that happened without seeing a doctor as that's not protocol. On the day I left the nurse station was confused because no one had noted I was leaving that was after telling my counselor, case manager, and someone from the business dept I was leaving again no communication and everyone was lost. That's not to mention the non working AC in alot of rooms, ants and bugs, dirty pool, dirty trash the whole place smells like sewage and the horrible food. I am going to talk to my lawyer based on the lies, the place they handled everything while I was there, specially the way they handled payment and were willing to leave me high n dry with no cash n no wallet! Both ladies at the business dept need to be looked at. This place made me worse than helped me. If it wasn't for me meeting Tommy n finding God through him I was say nothing ABSOLUTELY nothing good came from this place! They owe me money an apology and my lawyer will see my options

I was told I'd get help, all they did was detox me and give me a case manager that didn't bother doing his job. I called my insurance company and ended up finding out they completely screwed me over by making me pay for transportation there when transportation would have been covered by my insurance, and upon calling my insurance again I found out that american addiction centers lied once again about the step-down facility ( resolutions) stating I'd be charged out of pocket. They don't care about you getting better, they only care about being able to charge you more money. They uncharged me on the trip there by 110+ on top of the 206 plane ticket. DO NOT GO HERE unless you have money to blow on people that'll just rob you

Kitchen staff is very unfriendly. They got upset with me when I said I didn't eat pork and wouldn't accommodate my diet. I had to go speak to supervisor to get chicken instead. They are super tight on the food you get. I asked to get another ice cream because they were so tiny after I seen one girl go up four times. I was told I couldn't get another one. The gym is the smallest I have ever seen. All the basketballs for the court are flat. The staff are rude and unfriendly. I wouldn't recommend this facility. Even rooms are hot in the desert and the ac is broke and won't go past 70. Dirty water. Place is not clean.

Overall great experience. I think that having patients hit the ground from Day One is awesome, the staff were incredibly friendly and polite, and the group sessions were very informative and well-explained. The Nutrition class, I found especially interesting, and that is impressive in itself because up until then, I wasn't interested in nutrition, but the instructor got into the nuts and bolts of it, what happens chemically, etc. Great instructor.
If I was going to make improvements in any areas, I would make sure that every single patient got a patient handbook or itinerary. It was three days before I got one, and I had to ask for it. My roommate never got one either. Also, it takes an awful lot of time to get something done there, usually. For instance, I never did get the extra pillows for my broken arm that was ok'd by the doctor in my first week. I didn't really need them, so I didn't remind anyone, so it was on me, really.
But, as far as level of care goes, they did an outstanding job and I would recommend these guys to everyone.

I have been to Desert Hope both times I relapsed and each time I’ve gone I’ve had a good experience. Not only are the groups always diverse on topics and educational but the staff goes above and beyond . Both times I was at Desert Hope I had the pleasure of working with AJ, never have I met someone who goes above and beyond for her patients. If it weren’t for staff like her Desert Hope would be like any other treatment center

Desert hope has the most amazing nursing staff, each individual has their own counselor, and case manager to help them on their journey to a healthy sober life. Sabrina's processing groups has made me open up and feel comfortable with being uncomfortable. Food is ok, nurses or doctors have no idea how to taper addicts, they sent me home on 8 mg suboxone and 20 mg Valium cold turkey just for me to go into a seizure and have a panic episode right after detox putting me in the ER, this is how they make their money. Don’t try to fill out a MAT form because the doctor will deny it after they already put the order in. Some of the staff was very nice, some not so much but you’ll find that at any facility. Beware of any rehabs in Vegas other than Virtue

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
I could give this place a negative 5star I would. They don't even deserve the star u was forced to give them. They marketed as a luxury treatment center and the truth is far from even a good treatment center. The food was horrible. Everything is processed, small portions, no seconds, pasta, beans, rice. There is NO deserts or snacks. They will promise you whatever you want to hear. The staff is ridiculously rude. I was threatened on a daily basis to be kicked out out. It is a step up from being in jail. Everything about this place made me think of jail. The pictures look good but when you get there it's a totally different story. The resolutions step down for PHP shows a pool. They claim to have a pool but it's only for pictures. It's a perfectly good pool that sits locked up for pictures only. The program was filled with people straight out of jail. They carry that jail mentality . I saw 3 fist fights, 1 resulting in woman getting punched in the mouth by this huge guy. There's drugs all over this place. It's hilarious all these peers of mine running around using meth and Fentynal. They had 3 over doses while I was there and one was someone I had gotten really close to and now she's dead. They found her early in the morning dead in her bed and tried covering it up. I have no clue how this place keeps there doors open. I am horrified, never have I seen anything this bad.

My daughter is there and has no way back home. They flew her out there she has completed her treatment and our family can't afford a plane ticket for her to come home and this place won't help with that. If they can fly people out there then they should be able to fly them home and not make them stranded. On top of that I was on the phone with my daughter and the workers were screaming and yelling at her for no reason. She was just talking to me. Very disrespectful and unprofessional workers.

My son was in Desert Hope Detox for5 day. On December 21, 2023 he was supposed to be transferred to a 3 month program. The hospital waited to long and the bed was given to someone else's. So the just dropped my son off if front of a homeless shelter, not knowing if there were bed available. Had the did the job and at least called the rehab things could have been different. There was zero concern. It was cold, raining and my sons 35th birthday. Don't believe everything they tell you. There's really only concern when the insurance is being charged.

The staff is really incredible. I felt very supported and very safe, however American Addiction centers lied to me, and told me that my treatment was 100% covered. Then the day I got moved up to the second level of residential I was told that I had a $3,000 out of pocket payment. I had to leave because I could not afford it. I don't blame desert treatment centers but if you get there through American Addiction centers be careful. I heard stories about couples who were told that they could share a room and that wasn't true. I also heard stories about people who were told it was $145 for their ticket here only to find out when they got here that it was $700! American Addiction centers will do whatever they can to get bodies in the place just beware

I have been working in Recovery inpatient facilities for a decade and had my own battle with addiction that I needed to address. The day I made the call to find a place for myself, I found myself on a plane 2 days later heading to Desert Hope in Nevada. My plane ticket was paid for in advance by Addiction Centers of America. My arrival was late and I had a staff member there to greet me and provide transportation to the facility. I was caught off guard by some of the rules I wasn’t informed about prior to coming but that’s semantics. The overall facility was very lovely. The grounds are well kept , the housekeepers are amazing wonderful ladies who work very hard at keeping our rooms and bathroom and rooms and bedding clean, which I did not expect and was very impressed with. The food, and the beverage centers were nothing short of AMAZING! They feed you better then most people probably eat in their own homes. So many choices you couldn’t not find something to meet your dietary needs. The RNs.are the real Hero’s! They do everything within their powers to assist and you know by the way they fight for you that they do this job because they care and want the best for every patient they have under their watch. The rooms are def like Very nice hotel rooms. I was surprised at the beautiful grounds. Waterfalls, were gorgeous. Basketball ball hoops, volleyball, luscious grassy areas. Smoke pits available for those who smoke and vape. The TAs were for the most part truly amazing. One in particular saved me from what could have been a very bad landing during a seizure I had in the dining hall. From what my peers told me , he came flying across the dining room and caught me jusI before I would have hit the ground. Immediately I was surrounded by nursing staff , a crash cart etc. within minutes i was in an ambulance headed to a nearby hospital and upon my return and for the days following the kept a close eye on me assuring my medical safety.
Sure there are things that could be done better. Like my meds for seizures weren’t properly dosed or even given when I know my dose but that is on the Dr and with so many patients coming in and out and very few Drs, these things can happen. It was finally sorted. My advice is this, BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE! The squeaky wheel gets the grease. But if your medical issues are that significant, take care of those before coming into treatment for your addiction. This is not designed for your medical needs and conditions that are unrelated to your addiction.Make sure you convey any medical health issues to make sure they can accommodate those needs prior to arrival. It’s your job to make them aware PRIOR to your arrival. I had a few grievances while there and they were taken serious, once they knew of my complaints they did their best to address. Again the RNs were fantastic. I was there in Aug of 2023 so some names I have forgotten but Harvey & Maria you are a TRUE Angels 😇 in disguise! And so many others! Reggie, an agency staff member, met with me on Sat , a counselor type of level, my one time meeting with you was life changing. Your words I still carry with me today. Some perks were the freedoms you have that most places would NEVER ALLOW. Like smoking, if I woke up at 2 am and couldn’t sleep, I could go smoke, you could have your phone after detox. The things that I wasn’t pleased with are so insignificant in comparison to the care I received. Do pack appropriate clothes , because it’s a coed type of environment ,or they will confiscate it and keep it in your suitcase until you leave. I’m a shortie but that made no difference lol they took all my shorts and left me with my sweatpants that I only planned to use while in detox , not the biggest deal. I’ve worked in the nicest and the roughest inpatient treatment centers and I’d still recommend this place and return if needed! Be the change you wish to see in the world! They can assist but YOU have to be the one who is willing to do the work! 5 months clean and serene today 🥳 Thank you Desert Hope ❤️🩹
