I always enjoy my examinations with Dr. Malik. He takes his time and explains what he is looking for and what he finds. Very informative.
I am a professional musician. He understands my needs. I can talk with him regarding my professional distances that I need to see with clarity and speed. I do not have to speak to him using athletic metaphors. I use my musical vocabulary instead which is comforting to me. He understands the me looking a my music, a conductor, another musician or an artist some distance away, an iPad or changing patches on an electronic sampler and lastly a stage hand.

I had a wonderful experience with Eyes & Optics. My initial interaction with Tyler was amazing he was very helpful and professional. After 5pm., when Tyler was off work, I called the office and spoke with JAMES because I still had a few questions I forgot to ask earlier. James was equally knowledgeable, very understanding, and precise with his answers. I visited the store today and personally met JAMES just to thank him. It’s rare to find staff who are this reliable, professional, and courteous, especially when answering calls and addressing concerns so clearly. We called Eyes & Optics today to follow up on my husband’s appointment scheduled for January 21st. We spoke with Dane, who according to Valentino is in charge of insurance appointments and claims. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
The online registration system is not user-friendly and does not provide enough information, which is why we had to call for clarification. Instead of receiving proper assistance, we were placed on hold and eventually told that our insurance might not be accepted. Dane said she would contact our insurance as the next step and promised to call us back, but we never received any follow-up. We also left a message for Tyler, who was very helpful when we originally scheduled the appointment, but again, no return call from Dane. For a new patient, this was frustrating and time-consuming. If a staff member is unable to answer basic questions regarding insurance and appointments, proper training or at least a courtesy call back should be provided. It is difficult to recommend this clinic when something as simple as confirming insurance and an appointment becomes a hassle. We were referred to Eyes & Optics and expected a smooth process, but just following up on our appointment already became an issue. Better communication and staff training would greatly improve the patient experience

I was referred to Dr Mahlik by my retina surgeon. My retina in my only remaining eye had detached. Once recovery was sufficient Eyes & Optics took the baton and seemed to relish the challenge. As an artist I was immediately eased by the atmosphere since there were many objects d'art and posters, drawings, paintings and prints on the walls. No clinical atmosphere here! I am literally inside my car with a lump in my throat because I am emotional. I went to Dr.Malik two years prior because I always frequented the Trader Joe's and wanted to try this eye place out. I remember the cool aesthetic and how detail oriented the doctor was! I really liked this place but then my insurance changed. So,I tried places that were accepted and free through my insurance so I couldn't see him after that first time.

Now I am never going anywhere else. A little background is that I have been dealing with dry eyes and my right eye progressively gets worse and blurry throughout the day. It gets so bad at night I absolutely fear for my life while driving because all the lights gets huge rings around them. This has been going on for about two weeks now. It was so sudden especially since I got new glasses in May this year so 5 months ago. I was so desperate I knew I had to get them checked out. I saw someone at the center for sight and all they did was prescribe me some ointment and told me to make an appointment for next year! I went home disappointed because I knew something was wrong. I was so desperate I ordered an eye massager, eye lid wipes, rinsed my eyes in warm water for 5 min, put in systane and refresh eye drops and even purchased blue light glasses.... Then I knew I had to go get them checked for new glasses when I couldn't even see the street names when I was driving home.... So I called Dr.Malik's office. They squeezed me in last minute.

Dr. Malik sat down with me and did extra testing so he can get to the bottom of this. He noticed my numbers changed a lot from two years prior and looked at my prescription numbers from other eye places too. He took the time to listen to my story and how I purchased a lot to save my eyes since I couldn't really see much at night. I didn't even ask but he emailed and faxed and even gave me a copy of a letter to the medical eye doctor that saw me last week to retest me and to actually give me more treatment for my dry eyes. The consideration and time he took to walk me through what I had and what they could do for my eyes..... he said I shouldn't go through this at 31 years of age and something definitely is going on. He validated my feelings. I am so thankful. he said to call that office and make an appointment if I don't hear anything from them. He is truly an angel and I'm so thankful he helped me. He advocated for me in the best way possible I didn't expect walking in. I just thought I would maybe get a different prescription for my glasses! Not only is he kind, his whole staff is too! Even though, my eyes are not fixed and I have a journey ahead of me, I feel relieved and hopeful. All thanks to Dr.Malik. Thank you!

As far as Dr. Malik himself, he's a true professional and master at his craft. I've been a patient of his for roughly 15 years... And would happily recommend him to anyone. There is a large frame selection... Trendy and designer stuff. Entire facility is somewhat music inspired with memorabilia throughout. The doctor is also a musician and involved in the community.
