My last pcp left Intermountain Healthcare, so I made an appointment in March for the Sunset clinic (which is near my house).

I scheduled with Dr. T. but they put me with Dr Yun, which was fine. But he gave no indication he was leaving! I just called to make a follow up appointment WITH MY NEW PCP DR YUN...and he's no longer there??
He sent me for a diagnostic Mammogram and apparently no one is following up?

I have been a patient since it was called Healthcare Partners. I have a lot of medical history. But all of my PCPs magically disappear once I am an established patient.
Dr Mcanallen, Dr. Wakefield, now Dr Yun...disappeared.

Now I have been scheduled with someone new, but not until August 15.

This is not cool.

I requested a refill of my medications. Dr. Yun said he wouldn’t refill the medications unless I came in for an in person appointment, even though there were no available appointments for a week. When I go more than twenty-four hours without my medication I begin passing out and vomiting. Luckily, they had a cancellation later that day. So, I asked for the address. I packed my 7, 3, and 1 year-olds into the car and went, even though the 7 year old had an ear infection. I discovered once I got there that the address I’d been given was incomplete. Lost, I called twice for directions. Both times no one picked up at the clinic. When I finally found it, it was precisely 16 minutes past my appointment time (I checked). Dr. Yun refused to see me. Desperate for the medications, I offered to wait until he’d finished with all other patients. He still refused to see me.

Dr. Yun has put me in a medically dangerous situation. I don’t understand why he would provide a refill until I could get in for a physical appointment. Apart from the physical risks, I was disappointed with the lack of humanity and kindness toward a woman with sick children and a husband away on military work. Clearly, he was doing the bare minimum and that didn’t include compassion. It also didn’t include taking responsibility for an incomplete address and unresponsive office staff.

The Dr was good. The staff excellent. Getting the appointment? That was something else entirely. Six months to actually get in to see your primary is somewhat ridiculous. Plus, I had no idea what would be going on the week of my appointment because it was six months out. Turns out my husband was out of town this week and the appointment coincided with drop off for school. I tried to reschedule, but I wouldn’t have gotten in till Christmas if I had.

Out of all of the doctors and doctor's offices that I have been to in my life, I have never once been made as comfortable as I have when coming here. I, for one, have always been terrified of needles but the team at this office made me feel welcomed, relaxed, and cared for. I had an interaction with each and every single team member and they met me with nothing but laughs and smiles.

My parents recently moved to Las Vegas to be closer to me, but their experience with Dr. John Yun is making them reconsider this decision. My mother, who is diabetic and has always relied on steady medical guidance, had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Yun. I arranged for an interpreter to assist my parents, who do not speak English, but I was shocked to hear how dismissively they were treated.

Despite having her medication bottles with her, Dr. Yun reportedly insisted my mother verbally list her medications. His rushed manner came across as insensitive, especially for a senior patient. At one point, he even said, “I’ll give you five more minutes because I have other patients to see. Tell me what it is that you need,” which made her feel unimportant and unsupported.

After learning about this, I reached out to the practice manager to discuss what happened. I speak fluent English, yet even I have difficulty pronouncing some of the medication names. This interaction has made me question how Dr. Yun speaks to and supports his patients, especially seniors. I sincerely hope this feedback encourages him to rethink his approach and adopt a more patient-centered, compassionate way of interacting with all patients, particularly those facing language or age-related barriers.

I had a virtual appointment on 10/10/24 and I somehow missed it. However, I called the representative (Justine) explained to her what happened and connected me at the office. Spoke to Cassandra and she was very helpful and understanding. She told me that Dr Yun would see if he could call me and he did.
