Dr Ameer was so patient and understanding. I had to have a crown placed from an old cavity gone bad. He took his time to make sure I was comfortable. I was amazed he was able to have my crown made and placed the same day! I was their last patient way past closing. The whole staff stayed after hours to finish my crown and made sure I was happy with the results.

A hidden gem! The admin staff and assistants are great at what they do, and Dr Willard is very genuine and easy to talk to. He will listen to you, tell you what you need and wants you to understand everything as well. My teeth are in great health thanks to him. But I also visit the office more than just for my dental checks, because he does biostem laser treatment for my jaw discomfort and it is amazing! Affordable treatment for tmj/jaw pain is not easy to find. I’m so glad I found something that gives me instant relief and can be done as often as needed with zero down time! Trustworthy! Great experience on all levels. I usually am stressed out at the dentist, but today I can, for the first time in years, say that I had a very low stress, positive experience. Everyone at this practice works together as a respectful, cohesive team. There was a consistent level of care and professionalism from the cheerful receptionists (who spent a great deal of time gladly figuring out my insurance benefits), to the x-ray tech, to the assistants, the hygienist and dentist himself. The dentist was un-rushed and spent quality time with me truly applying all his expertise to thoroughly assess my case and give me solid advice I hadn’t heard from anywhere else. I was immediately put at ease as far as wondering if I was potentially going to be over-charged, misdiagnosed or ripped off when they took the time to show me the iTero Scan they had taken of my teeth. I was able to see & understand with my own eyes how two of my molars had become crooked, particular areas of wear, natural indents that I thought would be a problem but weren’t, and how my bite was not optimal & cause multiple issues and was therefore the starting point for treatment. Their out of pocket rates were reasonable and they did end up taking my insurance. Best of all, the hygienist took a long time and thoroughly educated me on flossing (again different kinds of tips I hadn’t heard anywhere else). Sarah, the hygienist, also saved me $$ by honestly telling me that some of my teeth could use a deep clean but if I was willing to see, she could try cleaning them without the whole numbing process to see if I could tolerate it. I HATE deep cleanings. She was done with the few “trouble teeth with extra plaque” in minutes. I did have minor pain but only here and there. Her careful hands and time spent educating me saved me a LOT of time, money & anxiety. The best part was she equipped me to hopefully have little to no plaque build up at the next visit by pointing out a better toothbrush option & explain where and how I need to brush & floss more effectively. Their expertise, patience and professionalism made for one of the best dentist visits I’ve ever had. Thank you guys! P.s. they have the best views from the rooms.

I was seen on an emergency basis. Even though I don’t live in Las Vegas and I hadn’t planned on having any treatment done by Dr. Willard, I was treated with compassion and respect. When I arrived in the office, the receptionist greeted me and listened patiently while I explained my situation. A dental technician also came up to listen and explain some options. When I had additional questions, Dr. Willard came up to the reception desk to greet me and further explain my options. Excellent dental practice with a great staff. Dr. Shields is meticulous in his work and the staff is friendly. Recently had a couple crowns done issue-free. Also had a filling replaced and after the novacaine wore off I realized that the bite was slightly off... was able to get in quickly to have it shaved down. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist!

Dr. Shields and his staff do a really nice job on all fronts. When I first visited them, they came up with a treatment plan, including graphics to outline which tooth had which malady. They worked with me to prioritize what really needed to be done before my insurance rolls over in the next year and more dollars are available. And, in the chair, Naomi and Dr. Shields are both caring and competent. I've had three crowns, a bridge, and a filling, and even very shortly after the anesthesia has worn off, I felt no pain. I think you'll be happy if you give them a try.

For the 1st time i got educated on what was wrong with my teeth and how to take care of them. I was told i needed deep cleaning by different DS but none ever explained why. Best decision to switch to this practice, with a referral from a friend. Thorough and so very friendly. Love it that it is a family practice. my temporary crown fell off multiple times in my sleep. When I went in to get it fixed I got rushed temporary which again fell out in my sleep. They continue to criticize my phobia while I can’t sleep. They’re definitely going to get an ear full. Came out with more pain than when I went in.

I've been a patient at Shields Family Dentistry since 2009. I initially chose them from a flyer that came to my home, and have been completely happy with my choice since my first visit. Dr Shields is the best dentist I've ever had, in all ways. He is warm, friendly, considerate, and does excellent work. He is dedicated to a painless experience for his patients and is very gentle.
The office is up to date and the environment is pleasant. Every encounter I've had with office staff, hygienists, and assistants has been courteous and efficient. The staff is wonderful.
When anyone asks if I know of any good dentists, I always recommend Dr Shields.
