I probably should have left this review years ago.

I can’t say enough about what Dr Sharif has done for me.

I was born with spinal stenosis that I didn’t even know about until 2020 when a chiropractic incident led to me being rushed to the hospital. I couldn’t walk unassisted after the spinal injury. I needed a fusion in my cervical (neck) to keep me from becoming permanently paralyzed, and also needed surgery on my thoracic (middle back) and lumbar (lower back). I was terrified.

Then I met Dr Sharif. He put me at ease (somewhat) after our first meeting when he said “James, with most people I decide whether or not they need surgery but with you, it’s a question of how much surgery you actually need.”

Fast forward 6 years and a cervical fusion, thoracic laminectomy and lumbar laminectomy later and I am independent, pain free, and extremely grateful to Dr. Sharif and his amazing medical team.

If I ever have spine issues come up again, which I very well may, I will go to him each and every time. He saved my life in 2020 and over the next few years made it so I don’t get numb legs every time I walk.

I highly recommend him to anyone in need of spinal surgery and am incredibly grateful for what he and his team have done to keep me liking and free of pain and numbness.

I saw Dr. Kevin Sharif after extensive research, including reading his bio and patient testimonials, and I believe I chose the right surgeon. I’ve noticed some low-star reviews mention wait times, and while you may wait a bit for your appointment, it’s absolutely worth it. I would rather wait for a good doctor than be seen on time by a bad one — especially when it’s a surgeon who may be operating on you. In that situation, you want the best, not the fastest.

Dr. Sharif was very freindly and to the point, answered all of my questions clearly, and made me feel confident about proceeding with surgery. His scheduling team contacted me immediately, everything was handled easily via text, and scheduling was seamless. Based on my experience so far, I feel confident I’m in very good hands.

Waiting time 1 hour and he looked at my MRI results and I still had to do an x-ray and he didn’t even care about my pain level and he just kind of said well gets nothing’s broken so go to pain management. Very frustrating. I was hoping that this will give me some sense of relief of my back pain but here we go again to another empty promise another Dr bill to pay.

Front office staff not super friendly but accommodating enough. I was very impressed with Dr Sharif’s video but he comes across much more patient friendly on video than at my 40 minute late appt which lasted less than 5 minutes. It was obvious he wanted out the door to get to his next appt than to make sure all my questions were answered….he didn’t realize or seemed to care if I had questions. Fortunately he said I don’t need neck surgery but then & therefore he seemed to feel the appt was over. Very disappointing. And I’m sure this review will get a generic response rather than improving his demeanor with non-surgery patients; which would be much better response.

Was on time for my appointment and still had to wait over an hour to see Dr. S, about my back issues, we had agreed that I would do physical therapy and see if that would help with my bulging disc and pain/ numbness issues! Despite me saying that the physical therapy was helping he still wanted to do surgery. I declined and indicated that I wanted to continue with the physical therapy. He wouldn’t give me a referral to continue it! I called the next day to get more information on the surgery for future reference and have yet to get a call back from his team! So unprofessional! This place is a joke. They told us to come 30 minute early, and the were running 50 minutes behind. It took us 70 minutes before seeing a doctor, and they said that is pretty typical. Doctor saw us for 5 minutes, and then took another 20 minutes to check out. Why do we subject ourselves to this? Get your workplace in order. Be more efficient. Don't schedule so many patients that your patients lose their patience.

I have been a patient of Dr Sharif's for several years now, in the past I had a ACDF - (Anterior Cervical Discectomy Fusion) and it took care of the problems prior to the surgery, which were causing pain, along with my arms and hands going numb.
I also had a severe loss of muscle strength.

Now I have to get a additional surgery similar to first to alleviate my Pain In The Neck.... Pardon the pun! Along with additional issues.
Dr Sharif is kind, caring, and very informative on any questions you may have. He takes the time to explain in detail what the procedures are going to involve.
He was making rounds at the hospital to check on his patients the evening after their surgeries to make sure that they were doing the best possible to achieve a speedy recovery. I was surprised he was the one making the rounds, not leaving it up to an assistant, or Nurse. He cares that much about his patients!
With being through a surgery in the past and him being the doctor that did the surgery without any complications. I look forward to my next procedure, and I'm very comfortable with the expectation of a positive outcome.
I recommend Dr. Sharif with the highest regard!!

I always feel rushed at my appointment. He seems to not know what to tell me as far as what's going on. He just looks at the monitor screen & says ok. Surgery didn't fix my problem or pain.! I'm very disappointed in how things are being handled. He did surgery on my back through the front of my neck on 9/13/22. After surgery I couldn't talk at all. Plus I struggled to breathe or finish a sentence in one breath. His reply was, well we weren't anywhere near your lungs. I thought that was an odd thing to say. It is now Dec & my voice still isn't back to normal and neither is my breathing. I'm so upset. I've gotten no explanations or answers. I wish I could have had surgery back in Illinois where heath care is so much better than here!
