Let me preface this review by saying that overall, I really like this location. Their dentists and hygienists have always been wonderful. However, the lack of communication and transparency from the receptionists has now become a serious problem.

Several months ago, I had an appointment where I was given a consultation for some gum work they recommended. Without giving me ANY information about recovery time, potential restrictions, or what I should expect afterward, they attempted to charge my credit card over $1,800. Once I asked about the recovery process and was told it would be similar to a wisdom tooth extraction, I immediately put the brakes on the procedure and had the charge refunded. I was extremely frustrated that something that significant was being scheduled and charged without first explaining what the procedure and recovery would actually involve.

Unfortunately, I experienced another issue today. My wife made an emergency appointment because she was experiencing pain from a potential cavity. They determined that she had a cracked filling in the area and recommended replacing it, but advised that insurance would not cover the procedure. After telling her that she would receive a discount, they discussed a payment plan and told her it would be approximately $66 per month.

What they DID NOT tell her was that they were signing her up for a credit card.

There was no clear explanation that she was applying for a credit account, and she was understandably upset when she found out. She had to go back to the office and request that the account be canceled. That's great, but the damage is already done: her credit was checked as part of an application that she did not realize she was making, and now she has a credit account that was opened and immediately closed.

These are not minor details. If you're asking someone to finance dental work or opening a credit account in their name, patients deserve to have those things clearly explained BEFORE the transaction happens.

I'm not sure if this is simply a lack of training, a lack of communication, or a "we don't have time to explain this because there's a game of Solitaire waiting" situation, but it's unacceptable either way.

Having this happen once could be chalked up to a mistake. Having it happen twice is a pattern.

I genuinely like the dentists and hygienists at this location, which is what makes this even more disappointing. I really hope management takes a serious look at how the receptionists are communicating with patients, because I would hate to have to find another dentist over something that should be so easily preventable.

Dr. Ligon and his team have all been so kind and patient with my case. I’m getting my two front crowns done. I’ve had a lot of trauma to my left front tooth, which has given me a lot of anxiety about it. I consulted with another dentist before this, and he made me feel so small for wanting to explain my fears given everything that tooth has been through.
Speaking with Dr. Ligon was completely different. He was so kind to take the time to hear me out, and he assured me that if I’m patient with the process, he’s going to keep trying until I’m happy. And he’s kept his word. We haven’t crossed the finish line yet, but I felt the need to leave this review now because he and his team have been so kind and supportive. I truly believe they want me happy more than they want a closed case. I wanted to leave this as a small gesture of my appreciation.

I've had a love-hate relationship with a few dentists in my life, finding the right one is hard and there's a lot of good dentists with horrible office staff, or vice versa. But Maryland Parkway Smiles Dentistry has a great combination of staff and dentistry that was great to see and I plan to use for years to come.

Loved the online scheduling tool for my first visit, as well as the heads up from staff that Delta Dental wasn't showing me as a patient yet (why do insurance companies make it so hard?), prompting me to push back my appointment while insurance got their act together.

When it was time for the appointment, office staff was welcoming and guided me through the online forms which I did from my phone. I would have preferred a tablet version as it was hard to see all of the fine print from my phone, but let's be honest it's not like I was going to see something in there and decide not to get my teeth cleaned that day.

Kristina took care of my x-rays and worked to get through the process as quickly as possible before taking me back to Astrid for some pre-cleaning prep. Then Dr. Ligon came in, who was incredibly friendly and walked through what he saw (basically nothing, A+ teeth cleaner here!) and even stepped in to do my cleaning himself, which I had never had done in all my years. That, to me, says a lot about a dentist, if they are willing to come in and do the more mundane work like a cleaning, especially when that's the primary reason more folks go to the dentist.

The visit ended with my choice of teeth cleaning kits, featuring a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss in a handy zippered pouch that is totally going in my work bag for those days of garlic-infused lunches!

Really a near flawless visit--though I could do without the dentist, who I'm willing to bet is a fair amount younger than me referring to me as "bud."

Dr.Ligon and his staff have been extremely friendly and very professional, from my first experience with them, I had broken my front teeth and was referred to them from my daughter, who has gone to them for a a while, even though I live about 30 minutes away it is worth the drive with the experience I received… Summer and Linda both front desk explained to me all all what my insurance covered, both very professional. I had a fantastic experience with this office while visiting from out of town. I was actually referred here by another office that Samantha also manages, and somehow she once again made the impossible happen. She worked her scheduling magic and managed to get me in to see the endodontist, Dr. Saro Oknaian, even though his schedule was extremely busy. I honestly don't know how she does it, but I'm so grateful she made it happen. Samantha truly went above and beyond for me - without her determination and kindness, l honestly don't think I would have been able to get the care I needed so quickly. She was incredibly supportive throughout the whole process and made what felt like a stressful situation so much easier to navigate.
I was very nervous about needing a root canal, but Dr. Saro Oknaian was truly exceptional. From the moment he walked in, his calm and confident demeanor immediately helped put me at ease. He took the time to explain everything clearly and answered my questions patiently, which made a huge difference for someone as anxious as l was. You can tell he is incredibly skilled and experienced - the procedure was smooth, efficient, and far more comfortable than I ever expected. It's very clear that he genuinely cares about his patients and takes great pride in his work. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better specialist to handle something I was so nervous about.
I also want to mention the wonderful assistant who was helping him during the procedure (I'm so sorry I forgot his name!). He mentioned he was originally from Hawail and he was amazing at calming my nerves. At one point he was even holding my hand and reassuring me - which honestly felt like the VIP version of dental care. If every dental office had a calming "assistant from Hawaii," I think a lot more people would look forward to dental visits!
The whole team turned what could have been a very stressful situation into such a positive experience. Huge thank you to Samantha for once again making the impossible happen (I swear she has superpowers!) and to Dr. Oknaian and his team for taking such great care of me. If every dental experience were like this, no one would ever be afraid of going to the dentist!

This establishment almost makes me enjoy going to the dentist. I’ve been with Jaclyn for years and I love her, and her team. Everyone is pleasant, personable, and really good at their job. I’ve had dental as well as periodontal work done here. I believe they also have an Endontist. The specialists only work in-office a couple of days a month, but the communication and collaboration between the team as a whole is phenomenal as someone who has had a lifetime of ongoing dental/periodontal/general mouth issues that they have helped me address.

Their team is also very compassionate and understanding. Prior to my first visit with them, there was a stretch of time I couldn’t prioritize/afford regular dental cleanings which made me feel kind guilty/ashamed. I just explained that to them, and they never made me feel bad about it (like previous dentists/providers I have had) re: the state of my oral health. Even the hygienists are personable and offer soft reminders of ways I can improve my dental health that I want to follow because they actually seem like they care.

There was a different period of time where I lost my insurance for a couple of months after regular cleanings with them. Once I was insured and able to make an appointment with them again, their office manager Samantha (who is INCREDIBLE) remembered who I was when I walked through the door. She empathized with my situation, and always remembers who I am. She is the ONLY health professional I’ve ever met who clearly explains & breaks down EXACTLY what I am paying out of pocket VS what is covered by my insurance. I’m talking down to every line item (I wish all health providers did this). If they offer a service that isn’t covered by insurance (but will probably help in the long run), there’s no pressure to pay more and no price gouging.

Anyways, 10/10 I can not recommend enough.

How often does anyone leave the dentist and give 5 stars? The ppl here deserve it. Like many, I have not taken the best care of my teeth and I recently went here for a crown. I’ll start by saying that the people up front, Dajae (I’m sorry bud, I know I spelled that wrong), and Summer were so kind and helpful. Star of the show here for me was Chris Ligon. Nobody likes the dentist, but I tell you, Chris took so much anxiety away. His chair side manner was the best I’ve ever experienced. While it’s impossible to avoid discomfort for dental procedures, Dr. Ligon did such an amazing job minimizing all of it. He’s exceptionally communicative and empathetic. He knows we don’t want to be there, but his nature allows for a solid comfort level. He takes time to talk thru procedures and he kept me posted on what to expect, when to expect it, and where in the process I was. As awesome of a dental experience can actually be, this was the highest level of one I have ever experienced. I highly recommend if anxiety or worry is an issue, give Dr. Ligon and his staff a shot. It’s not just about the process for them, it’s about creating the experience you probably need.

I had my first appointment at Maryland Parkway Smiles Dentistry with Dr.Christopher Ligon. I was extremely nervous and in alot of pain. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Ligon as well as his amazing staff. Yami, made me feel so comfortable. She was so kind, and attentive. She stayed by my side the entire time. Dauznae was also amazing. He was going over payment plans with me and making sure we went with the best suitable option. I love how they are willing to help work with you for we all know teeth are extremely expensive but also very important regarding our health. I have had the absolute worst experiences with DENTISTS. However, this was the first time I left a dental office feeling very pleased with the outcome. Dr. Christopher Ligon was very thorough and compassionate. He truly, won my trust. Hands down he was the absolute BEST provider that I have seen in my 28 years in Nevada!!! Not only, was he a great listener, but he also truly cares for his patients. Very warm, and welcoming. The entire staff was friendly, and simply amazing. Dr. Christopher Ligon deserves the utmost respect, and recognition for his amazing work, and kindness. Some people do their job because they simply need a paycheck. However, you can tell that Dr. Christopher Ligon does what he does because he genuinely cares and that truly means everything! Going to the dentist can be a frightening experience, especially when it's been YEARS since you've last gone and there's a lot of work to be done. The front desk staff Michelle and Doujee (sp?) Are so warm and welcomed me by name! Dr Richardson was so patient and clearly explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand. And Annie, the dental hygienist was so encouraging and motivating, not focusing on what I'm doing wrong but instead educating me on what I need to do to upkeep. No one puts any type of pressure on you to make decisions that could easily make them more money. They are truly focused on you!

The state of the art technology and devices makes things that much easier as well. I had a crown done the very same day! I highly recommend Maryland Parkway Smiles Dentistry for all your dental needs. They are caring and gentle, all you could ask for from a dentist office.

I have had terrible dentist anxiety and therefore needed quite a bit of work done. I've had everything from a cleaning, root canal, oral surgery, and it was always a breeze. Everyone from front staff, to the hygienist, to Dr Richardson who I see, has been kind, patient, and clear. I've never felt more comfortable at a dentist office. If you have any dental anxiety, worries, or embarrassment, I cannot recommend this office enough.

The front staff, the dental hygienist (Annie), and Dr Ligon have all been ethical and helpful. I have seen several other dentists at this practice over the years and have experienced great care with each. I apreciate the transperancy at this practice. I have never been surprised with charges or additional procedures. Wish they had specified that no food or drink for 8 hours before surgery included no water. I said that I had 2 sips of water an hour before and the contracted surgeon didn't operate on me. The receptionist was able to find me another office same day which I was very glad, but I also wish he had asked the surgeon before taking my payment as now I have to use all my cash because I don't have enough credit on my card to pay the other office because the refund is processing.

Dr. Ligon and his staff are incredible! Everyone is so sweet and friendly, and I’ve only seen compassion from them. I don’t have great teeth at the moment and I’ve never gotten a hint of judgment from anyone, only compassion and support for me as a human instead of as a customer.

The office is also open every other Saturday!! I can’t take much time off work (regular 9-5), so it makes setting appointments so much easier.

Also, Dauzhae has always called me by my name and asked how things went on appointments I didn’t see him, wonderful wonderful admin work; I felt cared for even though he wasn’t providing me health care.

First impression - this dentist office uses state-of-the-art devices unlike other dentists I have been to over the years.

I was seen by both dentists Richardson and Ligon. They were both friendly, patient and professional. Never felt rushed during the procedures (I only got fillings and routine checkups). Annie the hygienist is the reason why I want to keep up with flossing! She is so encouraging and genuine in wanting the best for your gum health, on top of her gentle manners and sweet disposition. I first have to say, that I HATE dentist visits. I can say that this location works great for me and upon contacting this office, their service was friendly. Went in for deep cleaning which required some numbing (SCARY), gratefully my Dental Hygienist had the patience to deal with me. I am thankful for Annie on being able to calm my nerves and also for all her information and advise she gave me on proper tooth maintenance. Now after another visit feeling welcomed and cared for, I truly recommend Annie for any dental cleaning. The front desk also does not push any uncomfortable pressure and clearly explained payment options. This office gets an A+ from me.

Office is easily accessible and clean. Duazhae was warm and welcoming as soon as I walked in. Dr. Ligon was pleasant and did a great job. He also ended up doing my cleaning because the hygienist was on vacation.
This was my first dental cleaning in about 2 years and as a new resident of Las Vegas im glad I found a great Dentist . I would have given 5 stars, but being brutally honest the dental assistant thay did my xrays and polish treatment kinda ruined it for me. She had an attitude the whole time, and was very rough with the xray portion and did a very half ass job with my polish. Overall they gained a smiling new patient.

Don't come here if you are pregnant. You will be wasting your time, as you will not be seen if you don't want X-rays or don't have a clearance from your doctor. Which I have never needed during any previous pregnancy before. The doctor won't even examine you! An exam poses no harm to a pregnancy! Dental health and hygiene is extremely important during pregnancy and I take mines very serious. I have a background in dentistry. Typically, the doctor will examine you and ask if you are having any pain or problems. Perform periodontal charting. Visually inspect for cavities, and as long as there does not visually appear to be any issues or you don't need a SRP (deep cleaning) you can proceed with the hygienist coming in to clean your teeth. However, if the dentist spots a problem or concern, he or she will then request X-rays and any necessary treatment that can't wait until after the birth of the child to be approved by your OB doctor. I chose this office because they are in very close proximity to my home and because of the wonderful reviews I read. I can't speak on the treatment as I was brought to the back to only be told by the doctor that I couldn't be seen, she did however, provide me with the office fax number to have a clearance sent over. But I don't want X-rays. X-ray's should only be done during pregnancy if deemed medically necessary. Not because the office just wants to bill the insurance for profit. I did have a 20 minute wait in the lobby before being called back. Other than that the staff was very professional and polite even over the phone while scheduling my appointment. Just a forewarning to anyone who maybe pregnant.

Don't go here if you need a procedure that leaves you in pain. They spent an hour twisting and pulling a tooth out. I left having no idea I would experience the level of pain I had. When I called later in terrible pain, I was not given appropriate pain management. Worst experience I have ever had with a dentist. Leaving a patient in tears, nauseated, and dizzy with pain is terrible patient care. Thankfully only had severe pain for one day, but I will never step foot in this office again.

This is hands down the best dental office I've ever been to. I've already sent at least 6 of my own friends and family here and they are all loving it. This office is just so organized and efficient. The thing I hated most about any other dental office I went to in the past was the sitting and waiting around part. Maryland Smiles has their process down. If you have a 10am appointment you're in the chair at 10am and they are working on you a few minutes later. The office has all the state of the art equipment, I had a crown made same day while in the office. The staff are all amazing, professional and extremely nice. If I could rate them 10 stars, I definitely would.

Highly recommend this office!!! Everyone is so polite and very accommodating. I was able to book an emergency appointment for the next day with Dr. Richardson over a concern I had. The office took x-ray images and Dr. Richardson was very thorough with explaining the issue and recommended a solution for me. She answered all my questions and it really helped calm me down. She scheduled me for a root canal with an endodontist, Dr. Saro Oknaian. I was really nervous about the procedure but it was truly painless! I had a lot of questions before the root canal and Dr. Oknaian was really understanding and did not rush me with my questions or the root canal.
He was also very accommodating as I was concern with breathing with being in an incline position for a long time (I over think things a lot). The root canal from start to finish (not including the numbing ) took maybe 25 mins tops?! Didn’t feel a thing, not even the shot to numb! Truly amazed/impressed at how comforting both Dr. Richardson and Dr. Oknaian and the staff made me feel. I use to dread going to the dentist but I guess it’s because I’ve been going to the wrong place/people. This office has changed that for me and I appreciate all their efforts and kindness!

I went to Marilyn Parkway, Smiles, Dr. Robinson for dentures they made beautiful beautiful top dentures. Then I needed 13 teeth on the bottom pulled. The oral surgeon came in. Did that work actually painlessly they made my bottom denture and placed it after they pulled my teeth hurt a little bit so I took it out and Doctor Robinson has gone through three or four appointments with me. To make them right and they are so right, I love them. My smile has Drastically I am so impressed with this place. I was referred by a friend of mine and certainly glad I went there. You will never ever be sorry .Maryland Parkway, Smiles everyone from the very front when you walk in is so pleasant And so professional, you won’t be sorry
