This practice is superb. The doctor is great with our foster baby and the front office is friendly, professional and helpful. They answer every question and seem genuinely interested in and caring towards the little ones.
I had a hard time finding solid healthcare in Las Vegas but finding this office has been a great relief. I feel comfortable bringing future babies to Dr Nishihara. I definitely recommend Meadows.

Dr. Nishihara is the best pediatrician a parent could ask for. He has been the doctor for my two daughters since the day they both were born. When I was pregnant with my first, I set up a consultation with him. I listed him as her pediatrician at the hospital for her birth. He came to the hospital every day (sometimes multiple times a day) while I was there until we were discharged. Even after we were discharged, he met with us on Saturday and Sunday when my daughter needed visits. He is very punctual, and we never wait on him while at his office. On days my daughters are sick, he always fits us in the same or next day. He goes above and beyond during our appointments, as well. He gives us printed instructions and free samples, which makes it so much easier on us. When my daughter was sick on a Friday, he called me on Saturday night to see if she was feeling better. Moreover, his staff is great. His office requires patients and families (not little kids) to wear masks. He is very serious about not spreading sickness, so he keeps everything very clean. I cannot say enough good things about him. I feel very blessed to call him my daughters’ pediatrician!

I feel so lucky that we found Dr. Nishihara. He treats both my infant and 4 year old. He was amazing when my baby was in the NICU, so kind and such a fantastic doctor. And my 4 year old actually cried on the way home because he wanted to go back to “play with the doctor”. Its a calm and wonderful office and the whole staff is outstanding.

I'm so thankful to have such an amazing pediatrician for our first baby girl. Dr. Nishihara is truly an amazing person and is very personable. My child was seen at Meadows Pediatrics in 2021 for a midline growth. While the initial care seemed reasonable, the follow-up and communication were lacking. The pediatrician did not order a recommended scan or follow-up as advised by the ENT, nor was the potential seriousness explained to us.

We were told the mass was 'just' a lymph node, and since my child is slim, it was more visible. In May 2023, I called to schedule a well-check appointment and school vaccines but was told there was a 3-month wait, which would have delayed the visit until after the start of school. This seemed unusual, so I took my child to SNHD for the necessary vaccines.

In 2024, I noticed the mass appeared to be growing. When I tried to schedule an appointment, I was again told there was a 3-month wait. I asked if a referral for imaging was possible while waiting for an appointment, but it was denied due to the time lapse since our last visit.

Attempts to address these issues directly with the doctor went unanswered. That is why I decided to leave this review to share my experience and concerns with others. I encourage you to look at the photo of the mass in my child's neck and consider whether you would accept this level of care for your child. I'm not sure whether the front office staff is making poor decisions without Dr. Nishihara's knowledge or if he is aware of and complicit in these decisions—if the latter, it's concerning.

We've since moved on to a new pediatrician with awesome staff who immediately addressed concerns, ordered necessary tests, and referred us to a new ENT who is arranging a biopsy.

I took my first son to Nishihara’s office after having poor care at another pidiatrician. He addressed my child like he was a person and took additional time to make him feel comfortable and not scared. Nishihara is not afraid to step on parents toes or speak his mind about the care of your child. If you can’t handle that then this might not be the place for you. Also if you can’t be on time this is also not the place for you. You are seen at your appointment time.
All three of my kids love going to see him since he makes the visit fun and makes them feel comfortable. The amount that he cares about the kids is very evident and I wish that all doctors were as amazing as him.

This is a really great office with a really great doctor. I didn’t have to wait, they got me right in for my appointment. And if your kid is sick and you need to bring them in asap, they have certain times a day that they will take them, that way your kid can still be seen but the patients with appointments still don’t have to wait. A very organized office and the staff is amazing. The doctor is incredible, my 1 year old was always terrified of going to the doctors, but this doc made him laugh and smile the whole time, even when checking his ears, it was incredible.

Let me tell you about Dr. Nishihara.

The day after our daughter was born, Dr. Nishihara was the first one in the hospital room to visit us at 6am. He greeted me, then greeted our baby like they were old friends. As he is chatting away with her, he starts to do her first exam, and finds she has a dirty diaper. Did he ask me, a still bleeding and bedridden new mom to change the diaper? Did he wake up my sleeping husband to change the diaper? Did he call in nursing staff to change the diaper? No, no, and no--Dr. Nishihara did it himself; no complaints, no fanfare.

After his exam was finished, he made sure I knew that I should be resting as much as possible. He gave the baby back to me, washed his hands again, and then picked up a kit of disinfecting wipes and spray he had brought with him. Dr. Nishihara sanitized our entire hospital room single-handedly. As he talked to us about the importance of frequent feedings to lower the baby's bilirubin levels, he wiped down the blinds, the sink, the cabinets, the railings on my hospital bed. He even wiped down my husband's convertible chair/bed.

I have never felt so thoroughly taken care of by a medical professional before or since then. I feel it would have been going above and beyond for him to call staff in to say "hey can you please change this diaper" or "can you make sure to sanitize the surfaces in the room they are likely to touch", but Dr. Nishihara did the dirty work himself, without expectation of praise or reward, because he genuinely cares about kids and families.

I have read a couple of complaints here about the late policy at his office, but my husband and I love it, especially during this pandemic. Even when we arrive early for an appointment we don't wait in the waiting room more than 5 minutes before the nursing staff take us to our own exam room to weigh and measure the baby. I appreciate that Dr. Nishihara and his staff respect their time and my time, and I love that I don't have to waste the day waiting for my appointment with a newborn. If you're the type of person who is chronically late then this isn't the office for you.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr. Nishihara and his staff. We are beyond lucky to have him as our daughter's pediatrician.

Update two years later in 2024: Dr. Nishihara has continued to take above-and-beyond care of our daughter. We called his office panicking the day before Christmas Eve, a Saturday when his office was closed, due to our daughter's symptoms. We expected an advice nurse to call us back, but nope, it was Dr. Ryan himself and he rushed a prescription through for us. I cannot emphasize this enough: he called us himself, personally, the Saturday before Christmas when absolutely everything was closed because everybody wants to spend time with their families for the holiday. When Dr. Ryan should have also been enjoying that time with his family, he still carved out time to take care of our little girl. Dr. Ryan is a phenomenal human being and our family counts him among our blessings. There are no words to describe how grateful we are for Dr. Ryan.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Nishihara! We decided to take our newborn baby girl here after searching for a pediatrician in the Las Vegas area. I called another place trying to get her in, but they were hard to reach. I stumbled upon Meadows while researching through our insurance, and found out a friend also takes her children here. She had nothing but amazing things to say, so I figured we would give it a go.

From day 1, Dr. Nishihara has been so caring towards our baby and so informative. I feel like I always learn something new everytime we go for a visit. He also doesn't hesitate to answer any questions you have. He is very thorough, and is so gentle with our baby. He talks to her and tells her how great she's doing. He also shows us graphs and stats to help us better understand different things he's explaining to us.

He's very strict about being on time for appointments, but I love that. You want him to take his time to care for your child, he wants you to value his time. He also is very matter of fact, which I also greatly appreciate. I respect his honesty.

His office staff is also so kind and caring. I really can't say enough about them.

I highly highly recommend Meadows for anyone's children.

We love Meadows Pediatrics and are so grateful to be a part of the practice. The receptionists and nurses are always so kind and accommodating and helpful. Dr. Nishihara always goes above and beyond at each visit. He helps my kids feel comfortable at every visit so much so that they actually look forward to going to the doctor. We moved from North Dakota where we never waited more than 10 minutes for any médica visit, peds included.

When I returned to Vegas with my small family in tow, I was extremely disappointed at the wait times and all over quality of care in the valley. A coworker suggested I try Meadows Pediatrics and I kept the info at the back of my mind.

Fast forward to today when after the weekend, my daughter was still complaining and acting a little under the weather, so I made a call in the hope they’d take her, a new patient and a sick one at that.

There is some hope for this town!! The staff and dr were so kind, even toward my upset and distressed 3 yr old! They didn’t bat an eye and were so patient with her! Dr prescribed and gave us the medication right then and there and we were on our way…in and out in under an hour, ALONG with quality care.

I cannot say enough good and wonderful things about this office!! Keep it up and we feel lucky to be a patient here!

I did not know that even if a doctor is accepting new patients, that they can choose to not accept new patients with ADHD. So because my son has a condition and actually NEEDS a doctor, you can't accept him to your practice? Feels a little like discrimination. I guess all the wonderful reviews are for healthy children that don't have any issues.

Love this office. We never wait more than 5 minutes tops (just make sure that you yourself aren't late.)
When I call with a sick kid, they get me in the same day or worst case early the next morning. Some times I'll call, and in a few hours I'll be walking out of the office with the medication I need so I don't even have to go to a pharmacy. It's amazing! I just called (on a Saturday) to ask if I should go to quick care because my daughter is sick. He offered to do a telehealth visit right then, told me what to do, and called in a prescription! Much easier than dragging all my kids to urgent care. Can't speak highly enough about this office.

Finally, a good doctor in Vegas! We moved from AZ and had a great Dr there. Since we moved to Vegas we have not been able to find anyone to match. After firing several pediatricians, we found Dr. Nishihara. Dr. Nishihara is very informative, he explains to us how our daughter should be developing and what we can do to help her along. He is very friendly and his staff is professional. Our daughter actually sat still during the examination. Wait time was minimal to get into the exam room and we didn't have to wait a half hour to get our vaccination like some other places that we have been. This is the best pediatrician and staff that we have found in Vegas and we will stick with them.

I can not say enough nice things about Dr. Nishihara or his staff. Some things I appreciate most though:
1. The care, concern, and treatment of the kids. I didn’t realize my 2 year old was being treated like an animal at his last pediatricians office until I came here. All of the staff spoke to him and were very patient with the fact that he was scared of strangers. They were more concerned about his wellbeing than trying to impress me or get things done in a hurried fashion. With my second Dr Nishihara came in on his day off the recheck his jaundice levels and was very quick to turn my sleepy dehydrated newborn into a awake squirmy little man. So besides getting my 2 year old to like him turned out to be great with newborns too.
2. Scheduling: show up on time because this is the ONLY place that I know of that gets you in as soon as you walk in the door. They don’t like germs and don’t like people waiting in the lobby so most of the time you walk in, sign in, and you are brought back for weighing in etc.

We love Dr. Nishihara. He is definitely one of the best pediatricians in Las Vegas. He is super nice and always reserves plenty of time to talk to us and do a thorough exam. I don't think we've ever waited in the waiting room for longer than a minute or two. He usually can squeeze us in the same day if we need a sick visit. One night we called his office late because of a sick child. His answering service pages him and he called us back within a few minutes. One important thing is that Dr. Nishihara is very particular about instructions and taking good care of your child so be warned that he is going to expect a lot of you as a parent to keep your child healthy and safe.

Dr. Nishihara is hands down the best Pediatrician I have gone to. With Dr. Nishihara, you feel like part of the family. He follows up even on weekends after sick visits. Wait time is zero, they are always ready for me which means they respect my time as much as I respect theirs. Dr. Nishihara takes the time to educate the parents and constantly reminds us about things we may have forgot over time.

We love Dr Nishihara!!! He really takes the time to talk to you and your child. We have been taking our three kids to him for about three years and have never had to wait passed our scheduled appointment time. He is super nice and always follows up with a phone call after a sick visit. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatrician.
