I've had Southwest Medical (SMA), for many years. I absolutely love, the care I've received. The staff is great, the facility, used to be located on W. Charleston & Rancho. My Dr. Changed locations, to Henderson. But the many times, I've been to this location, I've loved the service I've received. This location is on Decatur off of W. Charleston. There's an xray, Mamagram along with many other specialist here. The restrooms, are always kept clean. There's a free parking lot, they also offer Valet. The only issues I have, are the parking lot, is way too small and never no where to park. There is a parking garage, as well. The other complaint, is I wish ALL SMA's, had a Pharmacy! It'd make it that much more convenient. The Dr's I've seen at this location are great. The Dr's & P.A's I've seen here, have listened to my concerns. They take the time, to explain whatever the issue is. I have zero complaints, about SMA.. Besides, wishing there was a Pharmacy inside of SMA's.

Very difficult to get appointment to see a specialist . I am suffering from Thyroid cancer . Referred by my primary care physician one month before but could not get appointment to see an endocrinologist . Very long process waiting for to be seen by endocrinologist . Very stressful situation .

Care here has been moving me forward with relief for pain I've been enduring. Recommended treatment so far has been helping. Instead of sending me off with medications, actual steps are being taken to help. Staff is very good and easy going. I see a future working with them for good healthcare.
Updated: trying to reach your doctor is almost impossible. Seems to be if you need a referral you have to make another appointment for more than 1 referral. Care is still ok, but long care here is falling backwards. Will keep updating, but its not looking like a good lasting relationship with Southwest. Sorry you lost 2 stars southwest.

Southwest Medical on Oakey is super improved, I'd say it was a very pleasant experience now in August-Sept. in 2026! A Big & very deserving shout out to Rihanna, Triage nurse, and the wonderful, Dr Ryan McComb. Oh, and not to mention Briana in Scheduling, was Super curteous, caring and efficient also♡ This office runs very smoothly, and in a very human and personal way!! It is truly appreciated. BTW, they no longer treat you like an Old Lady, (if you know what I mean)..which they did, before years ago? I actually walk out, one time because of that! But, Love this place now ♡♡♡ Highly recommend

Some things are great. Some are not. Some doctors are wonderful, but lately most are not very educated, compassionate, or caring about individual health concerns. It's a good place to go if you fall into easy boxes, just want a physical, or an easy script. For anything involving real medicine, or complex care, you'd have to roll the dice on if you're lucky enough to get a good or even decent doctor. I love some of my docs. Some are a waste of time and money.

I had a lot of health’s problems. Dr. Gotardo Anna always read all my notes and listens my questions patiently. Her smile comforted me and my family. She is not only professional but also knowledgeable and humble.
She knows all my health’s history and keeps updated. She asked the nurse to call me regularly to check on my condition. She treats the patient as a friend. She is reliable and accountable for all the patients. She is a blessing for the patients.
We are grateful for her did. She treats job not a job. She devotes herself to work in the value of life.

Have been losing a lot of weight the past five months. Went from 165lbs. to 130 lbs.
I went to Oakey Healthcare on Friday and a colonoscopy and EDD were scheduled right away for the following Monday.
That was very fast.
Adriana Monin is thorough and got my colonoscopy and EDD set up fast.

Worst place ever, Dr's and assistants dont care about you. They smile and all that but it's just for show. As soon as you bring up a concern about a dr and want to switch, they tell you they cant see you anymore and you need to find a new pain management office because they dont switch patients with new Dr's. Unprofessional and unethical. Save yourself the trouble and find someone somewhere else for pain management.

I have been going to this facility (primary care) for several years. I like how easy it is to set up an appointment. They have a, Quest Lab, here so you do not have to make an apointment if your doctor there orders any blood tests. They have many specialists in the building you can be refered to, if needed. The whole staff here are very nice and helpful.

I’ve been to gastro, pain management, urology and multiple pcp there. The one consistent thing is the drs don’t care. They go thru the motions and that’s about it. Dr. Gortardo actually missed a serious cardiac issue on an annual scan that I found just by reading the report. 99% artery blockage. If I hadn’t caught it and brought it to her attention who knows what would have happened. On another occasion with her I had a list of things I need to get done. Her exact words to me were “would you like fries with that?” It was on a video appointment in an office with several other people present. They all burst out laughing. Must be nice to make fun of patients issues in front of others. Hope it made her look big to her associates. Too bad you can’t sue them just for being bad drs. They would go out of business. Avoid if you value your health.

I honestly feel like doctors should be actors, because they’re very good at appearing like they care—until you leave the office.
I’ve been trying for over three weeks to get a simple medication shot handled, even though there was only a two-week window to complete it. The lack of urgency and follow-up has been extremely frustrating. No one reaches out, no one keeps you updated, and nothing seems to move forward unless you physically come back in for another appointment.
It feels like unless you’re sitting right in front of them, nothing gets done.
If you’re coming here, I strongly recommend making sure everything is fully handled before you walk out the door—because once you leave, getting anything resolved becomes unnecessarily difficult.

Dr. Romualdez is kind and caring. She listens to her patients, and wants to get to know them. She discusses results with the patient, explaining what everything means in a way you can understand, and values your opinion about the treatment plan. She doesn't prescribe things that aren't needed, but does make sure she covers the bases for what is needed. The staff is kind and considerate, and I haven't had any problems with them getting the things done that need to be done. When I first saw her, and she learned about my cancer diagonseses, she showed genuine interest and care. She asked questions to learn more, and it felt like a conversation with a friend as opposed to the way doctors are generally perceived.
