We have been going to Shepherd for my son's pediatric glaucoma monitoring with Dr. Rovit. He has been wearing glasses since he was 3 years old. Now he is 9 years old, and we asked his primary doctor about wearing contact lenses at this early age as he was ready, mostly for sports. So we asked and were referred to Dr. Orton since he is an expert with contact lenses.

I finally met him after my husband took my son for contact lens fitting and measurement. Dr. Orton ordered trial contact lenses, and my son can see better and now has less stress over bullying at school for wearing glasses. Dr. Orton was super gentle, very friendly, and had common sense decision-making when his trial contact lens ripped 15 minutes before we had to leave. His technician or assistant was super friendly. I wish I knew her name. She was very friendly and explained the entire process and expectations. It's such a long process to get contact lenses, but I'm glad they take their time to properly measure and ensure that it is done correctly. I was more stressed because I wanted it to work out for my son. This office has relieved a lot of unnecessary stress, and I truly appreciate it.

I am not used to any doctor or staff apologizing for things they didn't do or causing any inconvenience, so it was very refreshing that this office still cares for their patients.

I recommend this location specifically Dr. Orton. I feel the Nevada physician's staff and office are friendlier and more organized with wait times.

Dr Orton is extremely professional and thorough. I have struggled with my vision for years. I would see someone about my prescription but would leave feeling like I couldn’t quite see clear enough. I would get headaches which are common so my complaints were explained by the new prescription. I would struggle with my contacts not settling and then feeling uncomfortable after a few days. But now I can see clearly! I have a consistent prescription! I have contacts that I’m comfortable with! Dr Orton has made life so much easier now that I have my vision under control. His manner is calm and kind, he takes his time to make sure your concerns about your vision are heard. From the first visit I was happy. Now one year later I can honestly say nothing has changed, I am still content with my prescription and no need for an update- finally. He is the best in Las Vegas/ Henderson as far as I am concerned.

During the examination he noticed I have severe dry eye and asked if I could return in two weeks in order to use the eye drops he provided.
