I went to Pecos Dental on the recommendation of my wife. She’s been treated by Dr. Santiago for years and claims he’s the best dentist she’s seen. I finally followed her suggestion and went to see him for a checkup knowing that I was probably going to need some work. My last dental care experience was 7 years ago and very unpleasant.

Pecos Dental exceeded my expectations. The front office has been great to deal with for scheduling and billing. Dr. Santiago is very professional and works hard at communicating effectively with his patients. My initial checkup was comprehensive and the treatment plan made sense. I didn’t feel I was being up sold services I didn’t need.

I spent 4 hours in the chair today for root canals and bridge work. Dr. Santiago and his assistant Martha were amazing! Their attention to detail and my well-being were so reassuring, especially after my past experiences. Five Stars in every way!

First of all let me just say if I could give 10 stars I would! 10/10 I cannot recommend this place enough. They were so wonderful everyone was so kind from the receptionist, to the techs, to the Doctor himself everyone was just so awesome! My oldest son is 8 and Autistic and he was not thrilled about going but when I expressed my concern for him they had no issues whatsoever. They respected my son’s need for time and patience and when he asked them to stop they did and I cannot express how thankful I am for their kindness and understanding. My two youngest are 6 and both had a great experience with X-rays and cleaning. Even had myself checked up and the doctor was very kind and informative and came up with a quick plan to get me squared away as well I can’t wait to take my kids back for another visit. Thank you Pecos Dental for such an amazing experience! This is why they are 5 stars across the board!

I went in for a consultation that lasted an hour and a half(yes, you read that correctly) and left with a treatment plan that felt aggressive and costly. I decided by halfway through my consultation to get a second opinion, and my previous dentist confirmed that many of the recommended procedures were unnecessary. Unfortunately, this experience left me uncomfortable and feeling that they were suggesting more work than was truly needed, so I will not be returning.

Where do I start?! First they tell me that I’m okay doing the fillings for cavities I have, so we scheduled for them. How is it? It was already decided that they were going to do crowns and root canal treatment? Only shortly after Dr. Santiago drills the tooth and says well, this tooth needs a root canal. I can’t believe that they did not tell me beforehand. Originally scheduled only just for fillings and then the day of they just sprung it on me and now feels like I HAVE to do it because well my tooth has a whole in it. Now have to spend an extra 1-2 hours in the uncomfortable chair. Unbelievable. I shouldn’t have came to this office. I was gullible to think all the great reviews people have been giving this office that it was going to separate themselves from other offices. I was totally wrong!

If I was able to put zero stars. I would. First impressions are big to me, and I noticed the ladies working in the front were all dressed like they were going to the gym. Not one person was wearing anything remotely professional. The office was smaller than I expected, and you can see the area where they clean their stuff. I noticed how things were just thrown onto the counter. It looked messy and unorganized. The patient rooms looked old and outdated. The assistants seemed nice at least, but the doctor came off very arrogant with his tone and body language. Dr. Santiago was his name. I am a person who is big on reading people and body language. I can just tell right away. I was excited at first due to how high of a rating this office has but yet it truly didn’t reflect how the office actually is and how it operates.

Coming from a person that does not like dentist, I'm truly impressed by this office. Everyone is amazing from the front staff, to the doctors, and the dental assistants! They have all been very attentive and caring, I definitely found my new dentist office!
Long story short, I'm the type of person that holds off on dental work until I'm in pain or absolutely need it. But after my experience at Pecos Dental, I'm never waiting again. They made my process so simple and smooth, not to mention PAINLESS! I had two extractions and didn't feel a thing! That's unheard of. Dr. Santiago is super gentle and quick, plus he has such a calming voice, I even felt safe. His assistant Yahir is a gem, he is super knowledgeable and made sure I was good through both procedures, which I appreciate so much. Last thing ! Scheduling is a big thing for me because of my big girl job, I can't always take time off, but Eva always worked around my schedule and got my insurance verified before my appointment!

READ BEFORE ATTENDING PRACTICE
My family and I had been patients of the Family Practice, Pecos Dental, for 29 years. Unfortunately, I have had to have several surgeries to fix injuries to my teeth over the years. Last year, I came to Dr. Santiago with an infection cause by an old root canal that called for the tooth to be pulled and bone graphing to be done before a replacement was put it in. After the surgery, Dr. Santiago prescribed me a small amount of pain medication to remedy the discomfort. Post-surgery, I go to my pharmacist and he tells me my doctor had an expired license and i was unable to pick up my prescription. I then went to 3 other pharmacists in town and they all told me the same thing. In pain and understandably confused, I call Dr. Santiago's office and no resolution was offered. But I was okay with that. In my mind stuff happens and I just dealt with the pain for several days after, no big deal. I then have a total of 3 check ups, the following months, and when it came to put my abutment in for the replacement tooth, Dr. Santiago and his office went silent on me. I called, I texted, my parents called, could not get a response from my dentist who had three months ago pulled my front tooth out of my mouth. A total of 74 days goes by until I get a response from the office, at 6:30AM! The office doesn't open until 9am, so why would they return my call before office hours? Because they didn't want to talk to me at all. They told me that they would be dropping me as a patient and said that myself and my family were a liability to their practice. They did not provide any reasoning other than that I followed up too much and they felt that my family didn't need to get involved. Mind you, my entire family was patients of the practice at the time and had been for 29 years. This was a family practice. Also mind you. I had been without a front tooth, working in a professional setting, for over a year at this point. Dr. Santiago then refused to talk to me personally and explain what was the matter. I had to physically go in a demand an explanation and he still could not provide a reasoning that would suffice dropping me as a patient and leaving me out to dry with NO TOOTH in my mouth! During my meeting with Dr. Santiago and his assistant, he told me I was a liability to him because I could tell people he had an expired license. The fact is, I never told anyone that. The Fact is I WAS BEING TOLD THIS BY EVERY PHARMACIST IN TOWN I WENT TO, that this was the case. This came as a surprise to me because after the initial incident I forgot all about it and didn't think anything of it. As explained, I went to several check ups afterwards and Dr. Santiago never hinted at the fact that he would refuse to perform the remained of my must-needed procedures. Instead, they refused my call, texts, and emails for months on end leaving me out to dry weeks before the holiday season causing me to wait several months until I could get an appointment with another specialist. It is unfortunate because I thought very highly of Dr. Santiago and his nurses. They were always kind and helpful. I had been attending this practice for 29 years and to be kicked out and made to feel as if I was disrespectful in any way is GASLIGHTING at it's finest. Despite this practice attempting to make me feel guilty for continuing to follow up for my appointment, despite Dr. Santiago and his staff blatantly disrespecting my family members in front of me, and despite Dr. Santiago gaslighting me telling my family is the reason he is dropping me as a patient, when indeed it was because he was afraid I would tell people he had an expired license... Despite all of this, I looked Doc in the eyes, shook his hand like a man, thanked him for his time and asked one final time, if he could provide a sufficient reason as to why he was dropping me as a patient. He could not.

All of this said, please do your homework before attending this practice.

My visit was due to an emergency on 4/10/23. This is my mother’s dental office. My dentist office had referred me to an endodontist of whom were unable to fit me in for a week. That was unacceptable! The previous dentist I had did not perform very well at all and Dr. Santiago is correcting all the dental work I JUST had done within the last couple years. I wish I was notified Dr. Hsu retired before being seated in the dentist chair. I drove from very far away and paid out of pocket under the impression I would have seen my dentist of seven years. Service was fine but I like to choose my medical providers and I was not even notified of the change until it was too late. It took me a long time to write this, because I really like Dr. Hsu and her office.
But it has been over 6 months since I got a filling done by Dr. Hsu and I am still dealing with the painful backlash of her mistake.
Dr. Hsu saw me for a cracked tooth that needed a filling. She performed the procedure and her dental assistant kindly told me that if anything felt off, or if the filling felt too high: to come back.
This was a red flag. She went on to explain the kind of awful pain a person can have from a filling that is not properly adjusted.
Sure enough the filling was too high. I suffered in pain for 2 weeks when I finally went back.
When I returned, Dr. Hsu 'adjusted' my filling. Once again, I was highly encouraged to return in case it was still off. Never in all the time I've been going to the dentist did this topic ever come up. Why is it coming up so frequently at Dr. Hsu's office?
By this point, I have a constant headache and I started to grind my teeth in my sleep. Eating became painful. Life generally sucked.
Well what do you know, the filling is still off. We are now over a month and a half away from the initial filling. Upset and completely lacking trust, I sought out another dentist. He fixed my tooth right up.
Except this whole ordeal with having had my bite uneven for that long of a time caused me TMJ. The teeth grinding did not stop and now I am seeing a chiropractor to help resolve the TMJ.
6+ months of pain and now chiropractic bills. I am uncertain if I will ever be pain free again.
Having Dr. Hsu do my filling was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made.

I was reluctant to keep my appointment for my regular cleaning as my TMJ has been making it difficult to keep my mouth open. First Eva, was very reassuring and helpful on the phone; then Eugene was amazing as a hygienist. He was relatable, kind and considerate and even had me laughing. Most important to me right now, he was able to give me some empathy and tips to help me with the TMJ until the next step. Sounds so cliché, but he is the best hygienist I have come across.

Emergency visit was scheduled by Maria and I was seen the same day I called! She squeezed me in between patients and my wait was less than ten minutes. Was done in 20 minutes and was completely satisfied with my visit.

Amidst pandemic crisis, I called at 4 PM and Maria scheduled an urgent visit the next day. I was given instructions in advance, and had to call when I arrived. Maria screens you outside—as you sit in your car; only allows one patient to enter at a time, and has patients follow a series of protocols. Inside I felt safe and protected. The office was transformed for safeguards, and my procedure was no more than 30 minutes. This was my first venture out of self containment during the last 60 days, and I returned to my home soon after. Once again, terrific job, Dr. Hsu.

I went to Dr. Hsu with terrible pain and a lot of cavities. She was very welcoming and answered all of my questions. In just a few weeks time she was able to help me get my oral health in a much better place. I've had an extraction and multiple cavities filled. She is very caring and gentle! She was also able to refer me to a great specialist for my root canal, which was also a great experience, or as great as a root canal could be. Haha. I've only had the initial consult so far and from what I can tell, this is one of the best dentists I've had in vegas. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. It's pretty easy to get your mind off your nerves (i usually hate going to the dentist lol) because they like to converse to get to know you better. They are also very informative and are willing to take time to talk to you and teach you about things you are interested in (i.e. teeth whitening, orthodontics). I'm so happy I finally found a great dentist! :)

I come in with special problems and Dr. Hsu is always patient with me. Becky and Maria are great too. Dr. Hsu, Becky and Maria make visiting the dentist almost enjoyable.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Hsu for many years, possibly 15 with a 3 year break as I relocated to another state and then returned. I have also used many various other dentists in my life. I am 100 percent convinced that Dr. Hsu has the best quality
available. She also does not oversell and only does what is needed at the time. When she does her quality work, I have Never had any problems or redos, her work is superb.

It’s hard to find a great dentist in Las Vegas. I found Dr. Tsu 3 years ago and if I have any dental needs, I’m happy to drive from Aliante, up north, to Henderson. Yesterday, I had to extract my teeth. I was very nervous. But everyone was very nice and informative and I felt comfortable. While Dr. Tsu extracting my teeth, I didn’t feel any pain! I was surprised at how fast the procedure was. That afternoon, Dr. Tsu called me to ask if I was ok. So sweet! Not many doctors follow up like that! I’m glad that I found this dental office!

Pecos Dental is the place to go if you are looking for a general dentist in the area. My family has been going there for years and always has a great experience every time. Dr. Hsu, Becky and Maria are very efficient and always make you feel at home. They always ask how my daughter and husband doing and even remember their names.
My crown came off couple of times and they always accommodate me during my lunch break since I'm working when it happens.
Dr. Hsu and Becky are very detailed and thorough. They always explain stuff to me, the way I can understand. And they are both has a really good sense of humor.
And Maria, is very helpful. There was an instance when I called her last minute because I left my dental insurance card and I'm already in the orthodontics office. She faxed them the copy of my card right away.

I had a tooth that needed to be removed and it was a very troublesome tooth, requiring her to remove it in pieces, it was a tedious procedure. Dr. Hsu didn't give up on it and keeping working on it, until it was taken care of. She also called back later to check on me a few hours after the procedure. Not many people care enough to check back up on patients. She is truly an amazing person.

I cannot stress HOW TERRIFIED I am of dentists in general. But the moment I made a phone appointment, to my first walk in, down to my first dental work being done, I have NEVER FELT so comfortable. You come right into beautiful smiles, warming greetings, and incredibly FAST services. They let you know payment options, costs before starting the procedure of course. They help you with the best route possible to help you figure it out financially as well. I'm beyond traumatized from dentist experiences from when I was younger, but Dr.Hsu along with THE WHOLE STAFF, are beyond comforting. Their office is beautiful, tidy, clean, very professionally equipped and comfortable. Pecos Dental completely changed my perspective of dentists. I am now going to be a new regular with Pecos Dental, along with my entire family. Thank you so much Dr.Hsu for an amazing and FAST experience, and to the staff as well.
