I am sharing my experience because I believe patients should understand the importance of getting dental treatment costs clearly documented before proceeding.
I received implant-related treatment from Dr. Lobato & Associates, now Prism Dental Studio. My original treatment information listed a crown at $1,092, an abutment at $500, and an intraoral periapical X-ray at $0. I relied on those amounts when deciding to proceed.
I paid $1,592, which I understood to be the amount required under the original treatment case. I was aware that my insurance did not cover the implant procedure, so I expected to pay according to the treatment plan provided by the office.
I was later charged $1,549 for the crown, $1,004 for the abutment, and $38 for the X-ray, and I subsequently received a bill showing another $999 balance.
I have disputed the additional balance and asked the office to review the original treatment plan and my payment history. My concern is the significant difference between the original amounts I was given and the amounts later charged.
My advice to anyone considering treatment is to carefully review the treatment plan, ask for all costs in writing, and make sure you understand whether the quoted amount can change before beginning treatment.
I am posting this review based on my own experience and the billing documentation I received.

I have been with doctor Lobato for over 20 years, BEFORE that time l went thru 3 dentist, before l met him.
A few years ago they changed my plan and l had to change to another dentist. Which was a very miserable time for my teeth.
I finally got the opportunity to change my health and Dr. Lobato was one of the first doctors l went back to.

I’ve been going to Dr. Lobato’s office for about a decade now. First interaction with their office was having to remove a baby tooth that had no adult tooth underneath that had split in half. They also handled my implant, implant is doing wonderful 6 years later. I go regularly for cleanings. Everyone is super knowledgeable, extremely professional, and very kind. This entire place was amazing! Front desk ladies are so inviting and nice, dentists are usually a scary nervous place for people but all of these employees make sure to make you feel comfortable. I had to go in a few times for dental work unfortunately which was unbearable but Dr. Truong and my tech I believe her name is Sheena always made sure to give me breaks and check in on me or give me more numbing to make sure I was all good. I was very insecure that I had to get this work done and they all made sure to let me know it’s normal and praised me for getting it done whenever I could and that made me feel so much better. I had such a great experience with Dr. Truong. From the first visit, I could tell he really cares about his patients. He was super thorough and took the time to go over my entire dental history, which honestly no other dentist has done like that before. I didn’t feel rushed at all. He actually listened and made me feel heard.

He walked me through his recommendations in a way that made sense and didn’t feel pushy. We talked through different options and he worked with me to figure out what made the most sense for me. I really appreciated that it felt collaborative instead of just being told what to do.

When I came back for my dental work, he even spent time going over photos with me so I could actually see and understand what was going on. That made a huge difference and made me feel way more comfortable.

I came in for a cleaning as a new client and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Dr. Truong gave me the most thorough dental examination I have ever had and discovered a quite large cavity in one of my teeth. Excellent office. Very thorough and kind. The women cleaning my teeth and doing the Deep cleaning did a WONDERFUL job !!! I am diabetic. After 3 months of doing a deep clean (my first ever) I had blood work done. My A1C went from 8.5 to 6.9. Since 1994, I never had my A1C under 7.3 - it shows how important it is to keep your teeth clean and free from as much bacteria as possible. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE and for diabetics to have a deep cleaning done. Also keep a healthy gut bacteria.
