I took my grandson in yesterday. The waiting room was packed and I thought we would be there all day. We went in at our appointment time. PA came in immediately for a first look. Dr Yee came in right after. Very nice and listened to my concerns. Patient was diagnosed with something very serious at another ortho which we wanted second opinion. Lengthy discussion and going back after MRI. I don’t know who says anything negative. I appreciated not getting dismissed immediately. Looks like our prayers may be answered and grandson won’t be on rest for 6-12 months. Try controlling a hockey playing 12 year old. It’s a full time job. After numerous other practices, we love Dr Yee so far.

Dr. Yee may be an incredible surgeon, but before choosing this office, be prepared for long wait times, frustrating communication, and significant delays.

My husband injured his knee in November, and unfortunately, it was the lack of communication and the delays with the office that ultimately led us to choose a different provider.

The insurance authorization process took nearly a month. His MRI was finally approved on December 17, and we scheduled it that same day. As soon as the MRI was completed, I promptly called the office to get him scheduled for surgery with Dr. Yee. I was then told Dr. Yee wasn't available until February.

I also experienced a very frustrating situation when I called the office on Friday, December 20, to schedule a follow-up after the MRI. After waiting eight minutes to speak with someone, the representative finally answered and began scheduling the appointment—only for the call to suddenly be disconnected. Did anyone call me back? No. I had to call again and endure another long wait just to reach someone.

That really made me question what would happen if my husband had already undergone surgery and we had an urgent question or concern. How difficult would it be to actually reach someone when we needed help?

The office is very quick to get you in initially, but after that, the process felt completely different. Between the prior authorization delays, difficulty communicating with the office, and the long wait for surgery, the entire experience became extremely frustrating.

I'm sure the staff are nice people, but the office seems overwhelmed and overloaded with patients. At times, it felt like patients were being herded through rather than receiving the level of communication and attention you would expect when dealing with a significant injury.

If you or your loved one has been postponing surgery for years and isn't in a hurry, this may be a perfectly good office for you. But if you're unable to work until your surgery is completed and need timely care, I would strongly recommend considering other options.

Again, Dr. Yee may be an excellent surgeon. My two-star rating is based primarily on the office's communication, scheduling, authorization process, and overall patient experience.

Dr Yee performed knee surgery onmy left knee. The injury was the result of an auto accident. I am a bottom line person. The bottom line is that Dr Yee performed the surgery this past April at the Sunset Ridge Surgery Center.

I was told to arrive at 6 am, which I did. By 6:15 am I was being prepared for the surgery. I then had the rare experience of the doctor, Dr Yee, being on time. I was home by 9 am with a knee that was more aching than hurting.

I’m very disappointed with this office over the last three days actually over the last two months, but it all started on Monday 7/6 when I got a call saying they couldn’t approve my moms insurance card. Same card they had on file for 2 years and she’s also been a patient of this office for more than 15 years. So let’s get into the story. She had a slip and fall in March and had to do some tests on her knee and came to a conclusion she had a torn acl and meniscus. The Surgey scheduler Joy booked her for 7/13 to which I had to schedule that day off more than a month in advance to get it off from work to be able to take her. My mom is 75 and blind. So 2 weeks before he surgery she had to do 3 tests, chest xray, ekg and blood work for this surgery. She had to go on 3 separate days 3 different places all by herself using ride share through her insurance. Come this past Monday no authorization was ever done for her surgery even though she had her appointment 2 months in advance. Now we are 6 days from the actual date. And nothing was ever done. Very disappointing. So now as of yesterday they got the referral from her primary care doctor and then I get another phone call saying your mom has to come in one more time before we can really get it approved now it’s Wednesday 7/8 and she can’t get a ride that fast through her insurance so I asked a Friend of mine if she can take her which she did and come to find out she didn’t see any doctors or Dr Yee she say a Random PA who tells her they never had any plans to do the surgery that they asked for the referral for and sent her to do the preop testing for. Instead they tell my mom they don’t do those kinds of surgeries on people 75 or older now bare in mind my mom is only 75. This was something never told to her or even to me as many times as I talked to them over the phone so I called the primary care office today 7/9 and asked what was on that referral and was told it was for her repairs acl and torn meniscus. So why is this place lying and saying they never had plans to do my moms surgery and now all the sudden they don’t do them once they are 75 and older. This makes no sense when they are the ones who scheduled the surgery. Very distasteful staff and office and very unprofessional and I would love a phone call from the Dr Himself because They told me only an administrator was above him to make a complaint to and that Dr Yee is not above an office administrator . I’m very sad my mom had to be stressed out over this and this was really unprofessional. Now was what is my mom to do after she was sent to do 3 tests and was approved by her insurance to do this surgery.

May be a good surgeon but not good with patients. Meets for a minute takes phone calls and walks out without waiting for a patient to have questions. Two surgeries, meniscus repair when I needed knee replacement. Second surgery L shoulder rotator repair stated I did not need shoulder replacement as I had been previously told. Woke up in recovery and was given no explanation as to what was done. Dr Yee does not bother to meet with or explain what happened after a couple of days it was obvious the rotator was not repaired. Had to wait for two weeks for the PA to advise the damage was too extreme and I needed a shoulder replacement. Office staff and PA’s are great but if you need a doctor to really listen who will explain and clarify what he did and did not do, Dr Yee may not be your choice. He definitely will not be mine.

As you walk in you get the feeling that you’ll be waiting long however I have never received faster and professional service with the entire team then I see Dr Yee and he calms me and really tells me in terms I can fully understand exactly what to expect and insures all me concerns and questions are answered gently so you really are in and out of there in like 20 minutes!! And you’re educated on the next steps to fixing your issue and becoming pain free!

Randall is quite personable and polite. While he does listen and help , it seems sometimes he won’t go outside of his box of risk. I have been seeing him for about 2 years and it’s seems like I have to plead for things. Today it was about the work limitations and what I needed was not something he wanted to take a risk. This doctor has ZERO beside manner. After saying that minor surgery would fix my knee problem, he then said he WOULDN'T do the surgery because I hadn't bought a walker to use in my condo. And that's the only place I've been and suffering for over 3 months.
Definitely would NOT recommend this doctor.

I have to drive over 30 minutes to Dr. Yee's Office. I don't mind it in the list. From the moment I walk in, everyone has a positive attitude. All the Support Personnel is great and well organized (which talks about the high expectations and training.) Dr. Yee is an outstanding Orthopedist. He performed surgery on my left knee and the results are great. Way better than expected. He is very thorough. He is sending me now to Physical Therapy and to have a Sonogram done. My 1st time was yesterday 2/25/20 to see Dr. Yee, I was so impress with him and his staff. I got to the office a half hour early and was taken to my appointment in 10 minutes. I talk to two staff members who really care about my knee problem. When Dr. Yee came in he was up to date on what I needed and made me feel as ease. I received a shot and because of my insurance they schedule a MIR at a different facility for me. I'm looking forward to see Dr. Yee and his staff for the results of the MRI.

I met Dr. Yee for the first time 9/6/19. He seems to be a nice man and has a great since of humor. But I feel he was rushed. I'd like him to have asked me if I had any questions or concerns after receiving a cortisone injection in my knee even though I had one years ago. And suggest to me, home care. Like, what if any medication(s) I can take or should I take for pain, should I use ice or heat to care for it? I asked him what I should do now that I had the injection and was told to try to stay off it for the next few days and that's it. I will return to him because all in all I think he is a good doctor plus I'm praying for him.

I went to Dr. Yee based on a recommendation from a friend who had both knee and shoulder surgery from him that were very successful. I’m a personal trainer and yoga teacher so injuring my knee was extremely upsetting personally and professionally. I’m very pleased with Dr. Yee. Your time with him will be brief but his staff and PA’s are also incredible (I have called many a time, they were happy to answer all my questions) Dr. Yee is a pro as a surgeon. He did my knee surgery, my 4 incisions are so clean and almost invisible 2 months out. My healing has been extremely smooth. Dr. Yee is a rockstar and did wonders to my horribly injured knee. Quite a skill to do what he does.

Front desk staff is rude and useless. I called and waited on hold 25 minutes and was caller 7. I work near by so stopped in person to pick up a referral and 3 young ladies were too busy chatting and one filing her nails to bother to acknowledge me for 5 minutes. I had left 3 messages for Dr assistant Myrna who never called me back. So now they tell me the referral for MRI given in November has expired and I need to come in for actual office visit to get a new referral.why nothing has changed. He has the X-ray they took, still in pain, just waited for new insurance in January which is better for me, and have been trying to leave messages and get a callback for 5 weeks. Office staff is so infuriating. I waited to save money and I have a new job and cannot keep taking time off. Wish Dr Yee had a competent assistant to actually return a call and listen to what you have to say.

I Previously had knee surgery here over a decade ago. Went well.
This time I wait on hold for approx. 20 min to talk to a "scheduler"
give her ( K Martinez ) my insurance info Primary and Secondary.
First she doesn't get the first letter correct of the id #. It was U as umbrella like i stated .She replies back Z as in Zebra?. shows she really wasn't listening. Then as she goes off line to verify my insurance . Comes back and said "she cant verify". I being nice and patient I send her via email the cards and list each one in order front and back.
after three more calls 20 min hold times . I'm told by someone else that that I need a coordination of benefits and they were sending it over to a "Verifier "and would call me back. (This is something done once a year w ins co.'s. this is late July . Its been done long time ago.)I'm currently seeing other Dr"s and radiologist whom NONE have put me through such nonsense to just to book an appt. None have had any issues. Then I finally get a call back from Ms. Martinez asking again which Ins co. is my Primary? By this time I had booked with another great rated Dr. who was able to immediately verify my insurance and schedule an appt. This review is not directly related to Dr .Yee's surgical abilities. But it is directed at his ability to hire competent people and inability to set up a user friendly process. I see it as . If scheduling a simple appt. is this much trouble what kind of treatment will I receive. . I was charged for injections I never even received by his PA-C, which equates to medical fraud. When I questioned the fraudulent bills sent to me nearly 2 years later, they doubled the bill from about 400 bucks to 800 bucks for services never received. The Doctor does great work when it comes to surgery, however their customer service is lacking.

First of all, trying to get a hold of anyone that can help you by phone is next to impossible. You follow the message prompts to get to his medical assistant, and she never answers the phone. It has gone to voicemail every time. She's also not there friday so if you need something then, you'll have to wait until monday. I once left a voicemail for her around noon on thursday and still didn't receive a call back until monday.

Also, the day of my surgery I was supposed to be there at 10am. I received a call at 8am asking if I wanted to come early because the doctor was free. Awesome! Since I had to fast I headed down there as soon as I could drop my kids off. I arrived about 8:40. The check in people at the surgery center didn't understand why they would call me to come early because there were 3 other patients ahead of me in the waiting room already. They also said that he does this often because he wants to make sure you are there for when he is ready. I wasn't taken back to even start getting prepped until 11am. I was there 2.5 hours early, starving, for no reason.

After that, everything was fine. He's a hell of a surgeon as far as I can tell though. I just with they treated their patients better.

I typically never leave reviews when asked, but I felt that I should this time. After having an accident with my knee I luckily came across Dr. Yee and his team at Advanced Orthopedic’s. I was diagnosed with a torn ACL after Dr. Yee recommending to get an MRI asap after my injury. I’m currently 6 months post op and feel great. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for any ortho issues and feel extremely lucky to have found a great doctor and surgeon.

Dr Yee and his team (PA Tiffany, PA Skip, MA Joy) are the dream team!!! I had Total Knee Replacement two weeks ago and came in today to have my staples removed. Or, I should say I WALKED in today! After only two weeks I am able to go up and down stairs with one foot ahead of the other and walk with close to a normal gait. Dr Yee said hard work rehabbing and following orders would increase healing time greatly and it did.

I am going to have my other knee replaced in 3 months and there is no one else I would even consider having do it. His entire team are caring and always there for you to communicate what's going on as well as take care of any issues or problems that arise.

Dr Yee zero'd-in on my wife's knee damage the first visit. She had a bad head first, four foot fall, dead weight onto concrete driveway. He prescribed treatment, follow-up was excellent, and she was back to walking after 8 weeks. Dr Yee also provided a referral order for physical therapy - one stop service from Dr Yee. Clearly, Dr Yee is very experienced - we highly recommend him and would go back to him in the future, if needed. First class medical service!!

Picked up my paperwork from my PCP office at 2 pm on Thursday afternoon for X-rays on both knees and a referral for Advanced Orthopedic & Sports medicine (AOSM)
Drove to Desert Radiology and had my X-rays done by about 3 pm
Drove about a quarter mile to AOSM to set up an appointment per my referral.
Got appointment to see Dr Randall Yee for Friday at 8:45 am
Front desk gave me the new patient paperwork to fill out, which I did at home.
Was called in for my appointment about 8:55 am - Dr Yee was able to get radiology report right away.
Diagnosed with arthritis in both knees - but right knee was worse than left knee.
Received a cortisone shot in right knee - follow up appointment in 3 weeks.

Quoted one price and charged a higher price. Evidently they did an ultrasound on my shoulder prior to an injection and charged a ridiculous rate. I have yet to receive an answer as to why the ultrasound was necessary and I'm concerned that maybe the person doesn't know anatomy? I have numerous MRI images they could look at. Until I get a call that can properly explain why this happened/purpose I'll continue to think this is a chop shop scamming insurance and patients for unnecessary procedures.

Because of a knee surgery in 2007 l got a Mercer staff infection and ended up losing the bone in my right leg and had to have 13 more surgeries. I live in pain 24/7. Yee did the knee surgery.

I was a little disappointed today.
The wait was 45 minutes to get into a room and than everything felt very rushed and impersonal.
Not like it used to in the past.
But as long as they make me better that's all that really matters I suppose.

My one and only complaint is that Dr Yee didn't do my cortisone shot and I asked for him to do it when I made appointment the girl that did it well it wasn't Dr Yee a lot of pressure and I was sliding off chair don't remember ever having so much pressure when Dr Yee did it or Brittany so whenever I do it again I want one of them or not at all Dr Yee is the best and has best sense of humor always made me feel comfortable
