I was referred to Dr Zhang because of hemorrhoids. He advised me that the recovery from the surgery would be very painful recovery and would take 4 to 6 weeks, but the issues that I was experiencing would very likely be corrected. He gave me his personal cell phone number for texting him if I had any concerns before surgery and any complications after surgery. I tried to follow his after surgery instructions and although the recovery was painful, the pain gradually decreased. Some of the problems that I had been suffering with before surgery took some time to go away, but within 6 weeks they had mostly gone away.

I highly recommend Dr Zhang for the type surgery I had which was Hemorrhoidectomy and would most likely go to him for any other surgery that I might require in the future.

Dr. Zhang is a very good surgeon who takes great care with his patients. From the very first appointment with him thru my final follow up appointment, I could not have ask for better care. Dr. Zhang took his time and explained the type of operation I had to have (colon resection) and explained what would take place during the surgery, how long I would be hospitalized and how long my complete recovery time would be. Dr.Zhang also included my wife in our discussions so she knew what to expect during this time
and her role during my recovery. Dr. Zhang came to the hospital to check on me daily and insure I was doing well. I had two follow up appointments with him after I was discharged from the hospital. He explained the healing takes time and just let the healing run its course.

Dr. Zhang is a fantastic surgeon and an overall amazing human being. The level of care and attention that he provides his patients far exceeds that of any other doctor I've ever known. Within minutes of meeting him you just know that you're in safe hands.

I was diagnosed with a partially obstructive mass in the midsigmoid, cancerous, in mid-July. Dr. Zhang provided all potential options and related statistical information to help me choose the best path forward based on the life I wanted to lead. He also provided examples of reference in terms relatable based on my career and hobbies, which was fun and extremely helpful. He gave me his personal cell # and right away we had a colectomy surgery scheduled by the first week of August. Dr. Zhang visited me every single day I was in the hospital to check on my recovery. After I was discharged, I did have a bit of a hiccup in my recovery, and Dr. Z was readily available via call and text to help guide me through it, and did so daily over the next week to help me avoid sitting in the hospital unless absolutely necessary.

I'm now 6 weeks post-op, recovering nicely and undergoing chemo treatment. I was a ticking time bomb just a few short weeks ago and Dr. Zhang saved me.

In general, having something wrong with your butt is an inherently uncomfortable experience. The idea of people looking at it, examining it, and treating it is strange for, I'd say, most people. It's an easy thing to be uncomfortable with, and it's an area of the body where, if there's a problem, it's easy to ignore. I had external and internal hemorrhoids, with regular bleeding every time I went to the bathroom. Showcasing those wasn't something I looked forward to, and just reading the process and recovery was kind of intense.

Dr. Zhang makes the process as comfortable, professional, and easy-going as you could want.

I've had a few surgeries for different things in my life, and one thing I always look for and appreciate from a doctor is just how rote, everyday, and casual their actions seem when dealing with people. It's not an everyday thing for me to undress or showcase the inner workings of my butt to relative strangers, but when that sort of thing seems mundane and regular to a doctor, the environment gets much more relaxing. It tells you, in some sense, that they've done these things many times before, and also that the experience you're having, which may seem new and unique and unnerving, isn't novel or groundbreaking or even especially noteworthy to them. I enjoy when a doctor looks at me and immediately has an idea of how things are going to play out. That's what the experience was like. He was cordial and relaxed, asked about my life, asked what was going on, I got examined, and I was given the options. That's it.

There's a comfort in that.

We setup a surgery date. I went to a local surgical center. Nurses, an anesthesiologist, and Dr. Zhang talked to me a little bit. I went to sleep, and I woke up an hour or two later with a nurse in the room. Dr Zhang came in afterward and reiterated how things were going to go for me in the recovery, I nodded, and I went home.

The recovery itself was not the most fun thing, but it matched pretty much every case I read online about having a hemorrhoidectomy.

All my experiences with Dr. Zhang were stellar. Easy to understand options, what appeared like a simple surgery to him (that's what you want it to seem like), easy to understand instructions, and a standard recovery.

I received a call from the Dr's office saying the Dr has reviewed my file and will take my case. My appointment was 1 month later. After waiting over an hour, he came in. After a minute, he received a call and left the room. After he returned, he began to tell me he couldn't help me. Then he received a call and left again. That's twice in a very short period of time. I don't believe the doctor was mentally present. I also think this doctor knew from the beginning that he couldn't help me and only saw me to bill the insurance. I find all these 5 star reviews suspicious because he left the room 2 times during my appointment, making me feel like I was of no priority to him except to bill my insurance. If he knows he lacks the ability and experience to help me, then why have his people call me saying he will take my case?

I’m on my way to 80. How bout that!! Life is full of I shoulda, I coulda, and I woulda’s. At 50 my Primary care Doctor said I should have a colonoscopy. I shoulda listened. I ignored my Doctor and at fifty six, 💥 I had stage 3 colorectal cancer. Surgical Procedures, months of Chemotherapy, thirty consecutive days of Radiation Therapy. Dr. Zhang is one of the best doctors here in Nevada. He performed a second colonoscopy, and the surgery went very smoothly. I had found Dr Zhang after a failed surgery from a different surgeon in which I had to fight back from sepsis.

Dr Zhang is a great listener! He was able to understand the things that were most important to me he made sure to address those things. Dr. Zhang is the absolute best!! I live in Los Angeles and came to Las Vegas for him to perform surgery because of his reputation and knowledge. From the first meeting with him, he made me feel so comfortable. We went over everything and he promptly got me into the OR. I did check-ups with him every 6 weeks for about 6 months post surgery. Is truly a blessing. I moved here last year and made an appointment with his office. He is the kindness professional Dr I’ve met so far here with great bed side manner. Very gentle and laid back. He does not rush you he listens and even brake info down for you to easily understand or prints it so you can read it later. He cracks a joke every know and then to see if you’re listening. You can definitely tell Dr Zhang cares and he even gives you his cell number if you ever need him. Which to me is top notch. I thought I would be bothering him he politely told me no you are not I’m happy to help you. Which to me made all the difference in the world. I've had gastro problems for 40 years and have seen a number of gastroenterologists and surgeons. Dr. Zhang is, by far, the finest I've seen. In fact, I've never seen any medical practitioner who was as understanding of my issues and as empathetic as Dr. Zhang. Despite the fact that his schedule is tight, he spent an hour with me during my first visit simply chatting about my background and concerns. He listens attentively and answers my questions fully. Moreover, he is incredibly forthright in his evaluations. He doesn't suggest procedures that other surgeons have, but explains why they not be essential and lets me decide. After all, why should a patient go through rather unpleasant procedures simply because they're in the "manual"? Yet, he keeps an open mind is willing to try things that others don't if there's a chance they will help. Lastly, he's incredibly responsive and gets back to me within minutes of my inquiries...I've never experienced that before!

Dr Zhang is a tremendous doctor who cares about his patients. When I met with him I was expecting the typical 5-10 minute visit with the doctor. He was a little late to come and see me, which is not a big deal because things do happen. I’ll explain why he was a little late a little later. He walks into our meeting room; he apologizes profusely and I told him it’s no big deal. “Your time is important and I don’t have the right to just waste it.” I have dealt with other doctors with narcissistic complex and Dr Zhang is the none of that. The 5-10 minute visit that I was expecting? He spent a good 15 minutes asking question about me, and we talked about art, sciences and literature. He is a renaissance man who is well-educated in a plethora of subjects. During the day of my exam, his crew was very relaxed, which also relaxed me. Dr Zhang is top notch as you could see from the other reviews and I am very thankful that he is my doctor.
***Side note on why he was late
I heard while I was in the waiting room a person who is supposedly famous trying to pull the “do you know who I am line” and tried to “cut the line.” Dr. Zhang didn’t have none of it and told the guy to schedule like everyone else does.

Dr Zhang is absolutely incredible and I feel very fortunate and grateful to have been referred to him for an oversize polyp. He was very open and friendly during the initial visit where he unhurriedly took the time to get to know me and explain options.

Being uncomfortable with idea of surgery, he suggested an initial non-surgical approach then provided a direct number to call him if I had any additional concerns or questions. He took his time during the procedure (almost an hour) and skillfully removed the polyp eliminating any need for surgery.

I have seen more than my share of Dr's. Dr Zhang was highly recommended by my treating doctors. Dr Zhang take the care of his patients personally. When I had an emergency issue I called the office. Dr. Zhang called me back in less than 30 seconds, not the normal go to hospital and good luck answer. Dr Zhang set up my treatment and saw me before the ER doctor was able to. Dr. Ren Zhang is an OUTSTANDING colorectal surgeon! As a fellow physician I can state that he is highly regarded...and he was terrific for the complete evaluation and treatment of my own + Fecal Occult Blood Colon-Cancer screening test, followed by my + Colo-guard advanced screen.

I am particularly high-risk for intestinal perforation due to prior surgeries and he just did a phenomenal job at my high-risk colonoscopy last week which yielded three polyps with absolutely no adverse effects at all--not even any pain or cramping. Moreover, he took the time to make a personal call to review my pathology results--which were benign.
