I have been seeing Dr Hamid, Shania for more than 8 years. She is professional, knowledgeable, and it takes the time to explain any issues I have questions for. Dr. Hamid explains in details any treatment options and makes her patients comfortable. She is also my mom’s doctor and she is very kind and approachable so my mom loves her.
The office staff is very friendly and appointments very well organized.
I would recommend DR. Hamid to others who are looking for a good diagnostic's doctor.

I am submitting this review because I feel compelled to report a concerning experience regarding patient care, particularly when it pertains to an individual's health. My observations are based on accompanying a friend to their second appointment with Dr. Shazia Hamid at the Canyon Gate office (near Target).
My friend is currently experiencing significant and sudden-onset symptoms, including severe back pain, substantial weight loss, and difficulty walking. Despite these troubling issues, previous efforts to determine a diagnosis have been unsuccessful.
Concerns Regarding Diagnostic Process and Communication
• Diagnostic Delay: I initially advised my friend to request an MRI. My friend was initially informed that the office could not provide an MRI, only to be called back several weeks later for a referral, which introduced a significant and concerning delay in pursuing potentially crucial diagnostic imaging.
• Poor Clinician-Patient Interaction: During the appointment, Dr. Hamid's focus was primarily on her computer screen, resulting in minimal eye contact or direct engagement with the patient or me. When I attempted to ask general, non-personal medical questions—such as whether she had encountered other patients with similar symptoms and if a diagnosis was reached—her responses were brief and delivered with a perceived attitude. For example, in response to a question about potential diagnoses for similar cases, she stated dismissively, "I don't know, everybody is different," without lifting her gaze from the screen. This created the distinct impression that she was disinterested in the patient's concerns and unwilling to engage in collaborative discussion about the complex symptoms.
• Lack of Thorough Examination: On the first visit, my friend reported that Dr. Hamid did not perform a standard physical examination (e.g., checking heart, ears). On the second visit, a brief check of the heart was performed, but the majority of the appointment was spent looking at the computer and dictating prescriptions.
Questionable Medication Management
Dr. Hamid appears to rely heavily on prescribing medication without thorough assessment or clear explanation.
• Unsubstantiated Migraine Prescription: When my friend mentioned a slight headache, Dr. Hamid immediately prescribed migraine medication without asking any follow-up questions to properly assess the symptom.
• Ineffective Pain Management and Lack of Explanation: My friend was prescribed a 30-day course of medication. When asked if these pills were intended to cure the back pain, Dr. Hamid simply replied "yes" without any further explanation of the mechanism of action or expected results. The medication ultimately provided no relief.
• Medication Discrepancies: Upon filling the prescriptions, the pharmacist noted that one of the new medications should not be taken with the patient's existing blood pressure medication. Additionally, another prescription was written for a dosage of "two pills twice a day for three days" but the dispensed supply contained only three pills total, indicating a significant error or oversight in the prescribing process.
I believe it is vital to report experiences regarding healthcare quality. The observed lack of thorough diagnostic effort, poor communication, and concerning issues with medication management raise serious concerns about the quality of care provided by Dr. Shazia Hamid. I strongly recommend a review of her patient interaction and prescribing practices, especially given the seriousness of the patient's undiagnosed symptoms.

I recently switched my pcp to Dr.Shazia Hamid and im glad i did. She is very knowledgeable, kind and listens to me when i ask for help with anything. I feel like i am well cared for.
I also brought my wife here who had issues with pain in her wrists and a few other minor health issues and she took good care of her as well.
The receptionist and other staff members were also nice and were happy to help with any questions i had.

Dr. is pleasant so does how the charges from the billing team. Keep an eye on the deductible since dr. charges deductible even the the provider is in network. If you have to pay deductible when dr. is in network. STOP! and think twice.

Awful & dirty back office Best Care on Grand Canyon & Flamingo. ☹️ Checked my weight my height when entering the back office, Didn’t check my blood pressure didn’t check for strep or ear infection… Just checked temperature, oxygen level and my chest. Quickly diagnosed that I have an upper respiratory infection. Dr Hamid was quick to give me medication and exit me out of the door. I felt like I was in a Third World country… Shame, shame shame.

After waiting and hour and fourth minutes after the appointment time , she was totally wrong about the medication and how they clear the body. Unable to dispense the medication that was already prescribed by doctor for 20 years in California. Suggestion.. go back to school to learn what pill clears by what organs, don’t scam people to come when the receptionist knows that you won’t prescribe necessary pills that were given by old time doctors in California.
What a waste of time and energy!!!

I’m a long time registered nurse. I went to Dr Hamid due to having ongoing issues after having Covid. I filled out the paperwork and paid my money upfront. I sat there a very long time in spite of being the only person in the waiting room. They finally placed me in an exam room but when I told her assistant I was 2 weeks post Covid they had me leave the examine room and placed me at the end of the hall. I sat in that chair over 45 minutes waiting to see the doctor. When she finally came to me she was short, exchanged a few words and moved on. She never listened to my lung sounds or asked me details about my current symptoms. No chest X-ray. I was then told to go to the lab, (I had asked her to be my primary carry MD for medication management and any future care). A nasal swab and blood draw were done. I paid $150 to be treated so horribly and without an examination. The doctor said your medications are sent to pharmacy. I asked her what was she prescribing and she said some antibiotics and steroids. I left feeling very uncomfortable about the entire visit.
I called a week later to find out if my lab results were back. I had heard nothing. I was told you must pay $75 to get your lab results. And the doctor refused to do my medication management. I would never give anyone this doctors name for care. In fact I feel the Medical Board needs to review her practice and work ethics!

At first glance it seemed like she was a very caring doctor but my view of her quickly changed. I have been sick for the last 6 weeks and I have been receiving treatment from her since the beginning of December. I have lost weight and have been continuously sick to where I needed surgery, because of this I brought up FMLA. When I called to schedule the appointment I told them that the visit was for FMLA, they went ahead and scheduled the appointment. Once I was waiting to meet with her (after my copay had been paid) I was told that she does not do FMLA paperwork unless I have seen her 8 times. I was amazed of how quickly her demeanor changed and she couldn't care of how much I have been struggling. All she cares about is money and that isn't what a good doctor should be about. I would not recommend her to anyone that is looking for a caring doctor.
