Attending a visit for a physical exam has always made me nervous.
My visit today was very comfortable. The medical assistant checked me in with memory tests and other details about my healthcare.

It is great patients have access to many specialist and many doctors, but I think its getting too big to treat people as such and not as numbers. It's like an assembly line... but the convenience of having services all in one place is what counts for me. I appreciate the doctors that are on time to take their patients. Demanding patients to arrive 15 minutes before appointment to have patients wait 15-30 minutes past appointment time. Take one to give one, is to keep in mind. Rushing to try to get to all patients caused me to get someone else's test results note from the doctor. Not the doctors at fault but the system and the administration.

The bathrooms were dirty, the space is shared with male parients the students were always with the doctor 2 a male and a female I think thats too many people in the small room and in my private business. At this office they do have wipes for before and after exams. I think gloves should be changed if you grab things from drawers or cabinets to hand the doctor during exam to prevent possible germ spread, inconsistent issue as my last visit i didnt get informed it was over or a copy of the notes. This is not the worst i just feel with some minor adjustments it could make a world of difference in my experiences there, for example offer me more than one treatment option especially if I have stated what my goal is and its a major life change involved.

I am so fortunate to have PA Randy as my Primary Care Physician. He is the most professional, prompt, caring person I've ever worked with regarding any medical conditions I encounter. We are so pleased, I have said many times, I will leave Southwest Medical is PA Randy should ever leave. Just from a business standpoint, that "speaks volumes" to me. I love SMA I’ve been here for more than 10 years but from my last visit, I am extremely disappointed with the care I received from this provider, Dr. Maria Landera, I was given information that was inaccurate, and I later learned it was false. As a patient, I depend on my healthcare provider to give me truthful, accurate, and evidence-based information so I can make informed decisions about my health.

I have serious medical problems and have been physically disabled for 30 years. Yesterday I was denied access to a Cancer Center. If you have serious medical issues, run fast, run far away. Southwest is Optum and Optum not only prioritizes profits over my needs as a patient, they deny me access to services they don't offer. Three out of four Doctors are frustrated by administrative rules, and the forth one treated me like I wasn't even there and it was all about her.
But if you're just old and want to be cash cow for Optum, go there by all means. As for me, I'm going to go elsewhere. I can't possibly do any worse. And the one star is really a negative 10.

My deepest gratitude to Ultrasound Tech Caren Munson at the Siena Heights facility. I have scleroderma/myositis which makes it extremely difficult getting an abdominal/pelvic US due to muscle contractions. I also have difficulty holding the water. Caren was told that I was having trouble holding the water and immediately came out to get me for the Ultrasound. When I told her that I suffered muscle contractions the last time, she held my leg and took care of me the whole time. Caren is a great example of the true meaning of being a health professional. She is an ASSET to this company.

Dr. Rodriguez has been my wife's Primary Cordiologist for the past 4 or 5 years. When I was referred to a cardiologist, immediately, I asked for Dr. Rodriguez. Unfortunately, SWM does not have many cardiologists. The doctor was booked and I needed a clearance for a kidney transplant. I was assigned a different doctor, whom I saw once. But as soon as I had the opportunity to switch to Dr. Rodriguez, I immediately took the appointment even if I had to wait a long time. She is gentle, and calm;
she listens to her patients and lets us know when the issues are beyond what she is able to do for us. I like her honesty, and willingness to get us the best treatment. (Sometimes, it depends on isurace approval) in spite surance, they go far and eyond for our health. I really hope they stay for a long time.
