Extremely pleased with my visit with Dr. Nishiyama - very patient, methodical, explained in great detail the options regarding my knee pain. Despite being a surgeon, Dr. Nishiyama strongly urged me to continue physical therapy and occasional NSAIDS and to defer surgery unless there is no other option. Hello, I chose Dr. Nishiyama because he does the newer procedure for knee replacement. I thought a knee replacement was required in my case, but after a very good conversation (clear and concise including Dr. Nishiyama‘s opinions), I’ve decided on a different course of action … Just doing a meniscus repair. and, I’ll be choosing him to do the surgery. I’m quite confident, too!

They’re almost like the Mayo Clinic for bone and body Parts Amazing Pl., Doctor Nishiyama and his assistant Anthony were very thorough and assisting me to what’s going on with my knees. This was my first visit to Dr nishiyama and the whole experience was great. Everyone was friendly and efficient. His PA came in first and spoke in depth with me and then shared that info with the Dr. He came in and explained things in more detail. He kept asking me if I had any more questions. Excellent and efficient. The Front Desk receptionist are very efficient and help you with the check in process. X-Ray technicians are very experienced. Although I did not see Dr. Nishiyama his PA was very forthcoming and provided me with the results of my x-rays and options of treatment. He has a wonderful PA who did offer for me to meet the doctor once we concluded my options of treatment, which she will contact me back after authorization from my health insurance.

After17 days after a partial knee replacement I’m up and around walking. My physical therapist told me I was 120 degrees bending my knee and they would have been happy with 90degrees after 17 days. I’m very pleased with my outcome and I would totally recommend Doctor Steven Nishiyama. I liked how he called me before my surgery and how his team checks on my progress. I give him 5 stars.

This doctor is the most negligent doctor i had to deal with. He is so arrogant and proud that a patient is just $$$ to him. He did a knee replacement on my mothe on July 31, 2024. She has to do another another knee replacement surgery at age 80. I still have to watch her to be in pain till this day. I hope he learns to be more empathetic when we called his two months ago to tell him that there was infection discharge coming from her knee. I was willing to drive to his office four hours so he can see my moms knee. His office said no need to be concerned. Truly sad and heart breaking.

Doctor Nishiyama has been great through the whole process. He gives you alot of options not just lets operate. After trying just PT we decided to do a partial knee operation and it went great. He uses robot assisted surgical technique and it makes a huge difference. I worked hard and was walking with a cane in 5 days and walking without in 8. I called to make an appointment and waited 20 minutes to speak to a person. She said I couldn’t make an appointment until paid $18 balance and transferred me to billing. Billing said they don’t send out bills under $25 and I could have paid my balance when I came in for my appointment. An hour later and after paying my $18, I still couldn’t get an appointment. I have been a patient at DO for 8 years. Customer Service is not DO’s specialty as I learned today.
