The team at The Dentist of Summerlin work like a well oiled machine. Each staff member has an assignment and it is carried out with excellence. After having some sensitivity with a few teeth , I googled a couple of dentists and found an offer for new clients and later hours as appointment options. Excellent reviews and wonderful customer care over the phone while making the initial call.
I was directed to this office due to hours available, sooner appointment availability and location.
The staff and Dr. Simkins were amazing. Very thorough exam, explaining procedures/exams and options for treatment after x-rays revealed trouble areas.
Didn’t seem to rush through anything despite the new client exam, x-rays and consultation.
No pressure to sign up for anything. Payment options explained clearly.
Would definitely recommend.

I had high hopes for this dental office, but after my experience, I would not recommend it.

My appointment was rescheduled repeatedly because of different issues—first the dentist had an emergency, then I was told the dentist was on a plane, and then I was asked if I could move the appointment to this time or that time. It happened so many times that I honestly started losing track of when my appointment even was.

Today, I missed an appointment, and now I’m being asked to pay a $50 deposit to reschedule, despite the fact that my appointment had already been changed around multiple times by the office.

I’ve never dealt with an office that reschedules a patient this many times and then turns around and charges the patient for a missed appointment. At this point, I’ve lost confidence in the office and will not be returning.

They don’t stand up to their own work.

The free consultation a few weeks back was excellent, and the office was clean, quiet, and pleasant. The doctor recommended fillings on both sides of a crowned tooth. Since I am new to Las Vegas and still getting to know local dentists, I decided to proceed with only one filling first.

Before the procedure last week, I specifically asked whether the filling would eliminate the food trapping problem, and I was told that it would. Unfortunately, food still becomes trapped in the area albeit a smaller amount. In addition, the contour of the filling felt rough, like having a tiny stair, and floss became difficult to remove without shifting toward the crown side in the middle.

I returned for a follow-up visit today. The doctor adjusted the filling by flossing the area to smooth the contour and explained that extending the filling closer to the gum line might further reduce food impaction, although no guarantee because of gum recession around the crown on the opposite side. This seemed like a reasonable solution. After checking her schedule, she said she could redo the filling today.

However, a surprise followed! While I was waiting in the dental chair, a staff member informed me that I would need to pay an additional $334 because it would be considered another filling. I explained that this was not a new treatment but a correction of last week’s filling, which had not resolved the issue as expected.

After consulting with the doctor, the staff confirmed that although the procedure would be a redo, I would still be charged the full fee again. This was disappointing and left me feeling that the office was unwilling to stand behind its work.

I had a great experience at this office. I learned a lot about my exam and felt very informed throughout the entire visit.

Dr. Cortes was amazing; answered all of my questions, explained exactly what was needed and gave different options.

Courtney was also wonderful—she explained the entire process in detail and made sure I understood everything.

Whole team was great, Heydi amazing with the scans, Valerie very helpful with outlined the next steps clearly.

Their professionalism and thoroughness made me feel comfortable and well taken care of.

It’s so sad I originally loved this location when i came in November but this time around worst experience and I would not go back. The front desk girl seemed completely confused and did not know what was going on. I was scheduled without ever being given an estimate of charges, and I had to explain my own insurance coverage to her because she was giving me incorrect information.

From the very beginning, I clearly explained that I wanted them to look at a specific concern before doing a cleaning. Instead, they brought the dental hygienist over just to explain the cleaning process when I never even had questions about the cleaning itself. It felt like nobody was actually listening to what I was saying.

Only after they finally looked in my mouth did they address the concern I originally came in for. Honestly, if I hadn’t kept speaking up, I don’t know what they would have done or what I would have been incorrectly billed for.

On top of that, the receptionist sounded high every time I spoke with her, which made the entire experience feel even more unprofessional. Overall, very disorganized office and poor communication.

As someone who has feared the dentist my entire life, I cannot say enough good things about Dentist of Summerlin. From the front desk staff, to the dental assistants, to Dr. Simkins himself — every single person made me feel genuinely cared for and comfortable.

I’ve been a patient here for about a year, and recently one of my wisdom teeth that I’d had for over 20 years suddenly started causing unbearable pain. I was terrified of having it removed and originally asked to be referred out so I could be put under general anesthesia. Within just a few days, the pain became so severe that I called the office, and Dr. Simkins got me in immediately.

To my shock, he removed the tooth while I was fully awake in just a matter of minutes. I felt absolutely NOTHING during the extraction, and now it’s the very next day with zero pain and zero swelling.

I’m beyond grateful to Dr. Simkins and his entire team for making me feel not only emotionally comfortable, but physically comfortable as well. If you have dental anxiety like I do, this is the place to go. 10/10 recommend!

Today I got some fillings done by Dr. Jake with the help of his assistant Erica. Dr. Jake was incredibly kind, gentle and precise. I couldn’t even feel his injections and there was no pain at all! Erica helped make sure I was comfortable the whole time.
I also was checked in with a warm and inviting greeting from Valerie and Susie at the front desk. Heidy the assistant and Dr. Cortes both greeted me as well as I was taken back to the room.
This office and these doctors are incredible and I cannot recommend them enough!!

This office has changed hands. The experience is much different from whren I was there before. Because of my most recent visit I no longet feel my previous rating is accurate. I have downgraded it based on the experience of the staff. In my opinion, they appear to be very new at their jobs. Dr Davis's staff had several years in practice and was well versed in how to treat customers and retain their business. The staff I dealt with seemed a bit immature and unable to handle patient discomfort. Patients should be their own advocates and be able to express concern and raise reasonable questions. However the staff I dealt with seemed unable to handle it, became visibly bothered and lacked the experience handling a routine issue. I never saw that when Dr Davis's staff was in place. They were very patient, willing to hear concerns and dealt with things in a profesional manner. They never walked out of the room and left you sitting there trying to figure out what's going on. I don't know if the new staff was confused or had to review manuals but I could hear them going over what to say. Dr. Davis's staff never had to get multple people to go over the same thing three and four times. They just knew what they were doing and I had full confidence in their skills and ability, and I sincerely based my previous 5-star rating on that experience. Unfortunately I cannot give the same rating to the new folks that I encountered. I actually left very disappointed in them. I went to the appointment hopeful and looking forward to giving the new folks a chance. But ended up thinking maybe this is why many of the patients left after Dr Davis retired. Now when I read those reviews I understand.

I love this office! Dr. Cortes is so nice and an EXCELLENT provider! She is so warm, friendly and relatable, she makes you feel like you’re right at home. She’s very thorough and meticulous about her procedures. The assistants Erica and Teylar were very reassuring and kept the funniest conversation. The hygiene assistant Heidi took really fast x-rays that weren’t uncomfortable at all. Courtney the hygienist seriously gave me the BEST cleaning I’ve ever had! I didn’t feel anything and she did a super deep clean. She also used a laser that helped heal my gums. Susie and Valerie at the front desk got me setup for my next appointment and were so kind about my busy schedule and working around my timeline. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for an amazing dental office. I booked an appointment here for a second opinion on my molars that needed treatment. Dr. Cortes and Erica were very pleasant to work with, and they were very thorough during the diagnosis. They made sure to answer any questions I had fully, showing me the x-rays and explaining everything clearly. I came back to get a crown and a filling on those molars, and they did a meticulous job.

Susie was so friendly and personable and provided great customer service. She walked me through the costs, insurance coverage, and any other questions I had.

I felt like I was diagnosed accurately, the treatment plans seemed appropriate, and I did not get the feeling of being upsold. I trust the staff here and will be coming back for my future appointments!

This office no longer values the patient’s time. At 30 minutes past my appointment time, I asked how far behind they were because I have another appointment. They asked when I needed to leave and I said 1 hour. I was assured I would get out on time. Then later, I was told don’t worry they’ll just do the cleaning, no X-rays or exam. I could schedule them for another date. 20 minutes later still no hygienist. I’m very sad that this office is going downhill so fast. My family and I have been coming here for years and ever since Daisy and Dr. Davis stepped back their hours, it’s really been a completely different experience. I hate the thought of changing providers, but the new staff is completely unconcerned. They couldn’t be bothered to tell me they were running behind and completely unapologetic as well. I would have happily rescheduled had they been upfront with me when I asked to reschedule. They just kept saying it’ll be fine, we’ll have you out of here by noon, just 10 more minutes, until it was so uncomfortable I had to leave.

Our Dental Hygienist Heather did an outstanding job today. She is knowledgable and genuinely cares about her clients. Nicely done Heather. However, I scheduled my next appointment 6 months later for a Saturday and when I went for my appointment, it turns out they are now closed on Saturdays! I got no notice about this! Just what I expected, another government controlled dentist office.. receptionist said when I called on the phone that they did v vdo inlays/onlays to save a tooth even with a big cavity to preserve the structure left... It was a lie.... I wasted my time going there Same old, they told me I need a root canal, a bridge or an extraction.. None of which are options for me. They took an X-ray of the two tooths and even though their roots look perfectly White and healthy meaning ALIVE they kept saying that they needed to do a root canal meaning killing the tooth so I can keep having a dead teeth in my mouth forever. Same narrative.."eventually something it's going to happen.... And all these fear mongering agendas ..the dentist even said that there is probably not much nerve left in that tooth.. common ... if that was the case the tooth would look black....Anyway,.. If anything my teeth have been healing because yes in fact cavities can heal too just like many things in your body but this "people are just so controlled they can see anything beyond what they're told .vAnd they also v don't want to do what the patient or costumer wants. It's like going to a restaurant but you can not have your stake the way you like. I just wanted simple fillings to protect the two teeth that are suffering in my mouth but I guess that's not possible so I guess I have to go to a different country or get a dentist boyfriend who would just do it for me... Hahaha whatever it takes...!
. Btw I know if I would just go and ask them to take all my good teeth out and have implants I'm a 💯 percent sure that then they would have no problem doing That..... Because that's what they want for our future... EVERYBODY having implants yayyyy and li mbs prosthetics too...

They took me in in an emergency when i was on vacation in LV. I had a crown fall out. The initial receptionist and any follow up calls were done with care and professionalism. The only issue I had was with the person that verifies the insurance (Susie). She seemed like she didn’t want to be bothered, and even after I got the insurance company on the phone with her to clear all the benefits that I had she still didn’t get it right and I ended up having to pay at exit and hopefully get reimbursed by the office once insurance pays them. The doctor (Dr. Trobaugh) was also great as was the hygienist that worked with him.

Met Dr Trobough when I found him at Emergency Dental. I was one of those patients that who was SO fearful I couldn’t remember my last dental appointment, but I knew it had been over 15 years. He actually alleviated my fears on this initial visit, started with the informing me of what needed to be done ASAP, but only if I consented. Had 2 front teeth prepared for permanent crowns and told more was needed to be done. After I told him my previous dentist gave me a sedative (Valium) the night before and an hour before my appointment he did the same for my next visit. Such a gentle man and I am still going back to him to do more necessary work on neglected work. His staff is sweet too! Highly recommended

Dentist of Summerlin has new ownership. The New guy, is garbage. Never introduced himself so he made it clear that he doesn’t want to develop a good patient relationship. All previous staff either left or were fired. What does that tell you? Hygentist barely spoke. It was clear they have a bad work culture there that starts with management. My family will not be going back.
I suggest you look somewhere else for your dental needs.

Edit to my review. I had a nice experience with the dentist herself, Dr. Lee. However not with the rest of my experience. I’ve emailed for weeks numerous times without a response from Nancy. I was told when I left the office my balance was paid in full. Awhile later, they start sending me messages I owe a balance. I do not owe a balance, I paid in full, was told I paid in full. I had two visits where this information could’ve been updated with me if they thought otherwise. They continue to ignore me and send me messages that I owe a balance, in which I do not. Just warning others that when you’re told one thing here, another happens. Not a good experience and do not recommend them.

Amazing experience back at the dentist… Unfortunately I have not been in over 10+ years. I was absolutely dreading it, and got a bit teary, and the entire staff was calm, gentle, and checked in with me the entire time. I didn’t feel judged or patronized, just informed and listened to. Not good practice. Overpriced $2000 crown fell out after 6 months so I went back in to have it placed "correctly" this time annnd they charged ME $144 for the Office Visit. While there I asked how much to have one front tooth capped and they preferred to sell me 13 new crowns for $15K!. This place.... smh..
Are all DDS this aggressive and pricey? Will NOT be going back.

Wow! Wonderful people, my husband came in with major anxiety when it comes to dentist and he needed major work done. We were helped with making a financial plan on what we can do to take care of my husband with no judgement as to what we could afford. They worked extra hard to make sure he was comfortable through his prosecutor. Honorable mention to the comfy chairs and the waiting room best waiting room chairs ever! Will be recommending everyone I know to these wonderful professionals.

I didn't see a difference in my teeth whitening. The appt was originally for just me and they pushed that my bf get his done too. Which I ended up doing but wasn't planning on it. Mind you; We drove down here from AZ for the offer, and then got HARD PUSHED to buy the membership package after. I said no multiple times and they still tried to get me to sign up and EVEN asked why. Like I said no, that's enough, leave me alone.!! Also the tip screen the lowest you can put is 15% and that was another $15 x2 (me and my bf) that I didn't feel like was necessary!! Maybe a few dollars but not $30 especially after hard pushing me to get the packageeeee! Also I said I didn't want to book another appointment at the time and they went ahead and booked one anyway without my permission lol. ( mind you there is a cancellation policy) so make sure you cancel that or they'll probably charge you. So I thought that was pushy AGAIN and rude as they didn't listen to me. Nope nope nope. Nope. Not a happy camper. Not a genuine good experience at all, especially for the long drive. I wish I could of not done this or get a refund. 💯

SHOCK! 20 years of Dr. Davis and wonderful staff (Especially Colleen) who cared for myself, my mother and my husband. I show up for my appointment. Guess what, all new ownership, and staff. Excuse me! Where was the letter notifying me of the changes for the business that I patronized for 20 years! I don't go to ANY doctor without research of their credentials. They still list Dr. Davis but he was not there.
This is an extreme case of UNPROFESSIONALISM to not notify me of the change of ownership. Once there, for my appointment I made the decision to go ahead with my scheduled dental cleaning. I did receive a second stage oral plaque cleaning from Dr. Lee. I will say that she did a very good job. The staff was very professional. BUT this does not negate the fact that my commitment to patronize this business for over 20 years was not ever considered to even say THANK YOU and we hope to continue to provide you with the services you expect from us. Let me introduce our doctors and the services we provide. I don't go to a dental office because there is a sign that says "dentist" over the door. I go to the people that I believe will provide the best care available. Dr. Lee has very good credentials (which I have since researched). I will go for another cleaning. I do not believe that my choice for services provided should have been taken for granted.

My first visit, went in for annual cleaning. Dr Michelle Lee was very very detailed and thorough with exam, potential problem areas and type of cleaning recommended and why. I was truly impressed with her level of detail. Even though, I was hesitant about deep cleaning, but very happy I had it done. My month feels so clean and teeth are definitely whiter 😀. And, the office was spotless, staff nice and respectful 🩷. Highly recommend!!

Loved Dr Davis but haven’t had a great experience since he sold. My appointment time was changed without notifying me. I even confirmed it via text message and then a hour before my appointment was sent a text message saying it was 30 min later than the time I confirmed. That’s not ideal when you have to hire childcare. My cleaning was very awkward and painful. I’ve gone to the dentist every 6 months for my entire life and never experienced anything like it.

Since Dr Davis sold the practice this has been a continuous horrible experience. Cancelled appointments at the last minute. Rescheduled without calling and telling me. ALL requests have been ignored. They said they would call me back multiple times and not even one return call. When I finally saw someone they spent more time trying to convince me to do unnecessary work than I care to speak about. Although they did take care to tell me what horrible work my previous dentist work that lasted for over 20 years was and how much better their work is. I was told I was not on my dental plan because my name wasn’t on my insurance card DESPITE my name being right there on the card. Emailed me to tell me they couldn’t call me because they didn’t have my phone number. This was 15 minutes after they called me to ask me for insurance information. I could go on but if you still choose to go there you deserve what you get.

Friendly front desk team, made sure I understood costs and benefits. Great hygienist, talked me through what she was doing and what the dentist would be in to discuss. I booked an emergency appointment and was pleased when I was told an appointment was available 24 hours later. I was told that there was a nearer location to where I was staying on the strip and was given the address of Sunrise Dental and told that I would receive a text message giving me links to forms I should fill out. The text message hadn’t arrived after 30 mins, and as they closed soon I rang back to check they had my number correct which they said they did. I also confirmed the address which I had been given as I’m not familiar to the area. I was told that this address was indeed correct. When I turned up to the appointment, Sunrise Dental had no record of my booking and when they confirmed the phone number I had called the previous day they told me that they have no affiliation with The Dentist of Summerlin. I have no idea how this mixup could’ve happened, perhaps the receptionist was new and was using Google for the address of their other dentist, that is my only possible guess. Either way, a very disappointing experience indeed. Fortunately for me, Sunrise Dental made a space, and saw me.

I religiously have my teeth cleaned every 6 months and this is BY FAR the best my teeth and gums have felt in years.

Everyone here is wonderful. As a new patient, I was extremely impressed with the thorough, comprehensive exam. Full mouth xrays took forever, but Heather was very gentle and efficient. Then some crazy 3-D scan of my teeth and gums -- never saw that before -- very cool. Then the "waterpik" cleaning which was a bit intense, but I could tell it was working. Then yummy tasting polish. With Heather's supreme attention to detail, not a spot was missed!

When Dr. Davis came in, he spent FIVE minutes just getting to know me, asking great questions, sharing a few quick stories -- it was such a nice introduction. His exam was also very thorough and he listened (and addressed) my concerns.

Everyone is so personable, I feel like I made new friends. :) Can't wait for my next cleaning with this amazing crew!
