Dr. Shoemaker is great. Las Vegas Medical Group is pretty sketchy about their billing though. Had three visits, and day before the fourth one of the office staff informs me that I owe them over $1000. I ask for what and she could/would not explain. I contact billing and ask for an itemized statement of professional services with all applicable CPT codes for services provided and no response after 30 days. They simply sent to collections. Point being he’s a great doctor but the office staff need some training in HIPPA and proper customer service. Very sketchy conduct so I would be very cautious about using the services of this medical office. And if you do, be sure to ask lots of questions regarding pricing, hidden fees, etc.

After avoiding doctors for 22 years, I was honestly nervous about this appointment, but Dr. Matthew Shoemaker was excellent. I don’t think I could say enough about Dr. William R Shoemaker; he has been my primary care physician for the last 23 years. He is one of the best doctors I have had. Dr Shoemaker has incredible bed side manner, he actually listens to what I have to say, he doesn't rush me out of the office and provides the best medical care, he has been responsive with a positive attitude and a kind bedside manner. Dr. Shoemaker is the best! I relocated here from Salt Lake and was so happy to find him to be my Primary Care Doctor. He always spends time with me and explains my diagnosis — if he feels that I need a consult to see someone for a certain problem he makes sure that I’m seen in an appropriate amount of time. He also asks me if I have any questions and never tries to hurry thru the appointment. He also answers all my messages on the portal in a very quick time. I would highly recommend him to anyone. New to Las Vegas and looking for a physician. I was born and raised in Vegas but lived in Los Angeles for 42 years. My parents have complained about medical care here in Vegas for years and I'm beginning to understand why.
I will state here that I haven't seen Dr. Shoemaker but was treated so rudely by the front desk I wanted to mention it here.
The health plan website I found Dr. Shoemaker as a participating Dr (Sierra Health) and it stated they were accepting new patients as of last Fri. Today I called and after 3 calls was able to tell me that they're not accepting new patients and when I asked if there was another Dr to see I was hung up on.
