I met Dr. Nguyen yesterday for a new patient visit, and was impressed that he took the time to understand exactly what was going on with my health.

Aside from being very thorough and personable, he is also very warm and caring with a kindness and a sense of humor which is very important when dealing with cancer.

Dr. Nguyen explained more about the kind of cancer I have and explain how different techniques can help to identify whether there is still cancer existing in my body. He also offered a way to discover why I got the cancer in the first place since neuroendocrine cancers are not typically caused by the same things other more common cancers are caused by.

Before I left, Dr. Nguyen asked me if there was any questions that I had. He wanted to make sure that I understood everything that he explained and what the Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada can offer me to ensure that I have the best care from them in the future.

I left feeling uplifted and hopeful, and recommend Dr. Nguyen to any cancer patient wanting the best care from a genuinely caring, knowledgeable, and high energy doctor.

Yesterday was my first appointment with Dr. Nguyen at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada, and I cannot say enough good things. Was referred to this Dr on an important second opinion for prostrate radiation after 2 yr surgery was shut down immediately. We have worked with CCCN for several years since my cancer was first discovered. Dr. Nguyen has been our doctor from day 1 and has provided outstanding service. My cancer was first diagnosed as fatal near term but Dr. Nguyen challenged the diagnoses and suggested I go to a specialist at UCLA who agreed with Dr. Nguyen that the cancer was not only not fatal but was not yet clinically “cancer” although the blood markers were clearly there. Since that original diagnoses, Dr. Nguyen has monitored the progression of the condition. Dr. Nguyen remains interested in my situation despite the fact it I will not require treatment for cancer in the unknown future.

Incompetent staff, I took my referral to office and was told I would hear back from them within 48 hours for scheduling, 9 days later they called and could get me in for initial consultation 20 days later. I can understand that he may be busy but the level of communication was zero. In the mean time I've seen another Dr who has requested all my records scheduled a PET SCAN and will meet with me for a plan of attack 10 days prior to any kind of meet with Dr. Nguyen. As someone who is 75 years old I have seen my fair share of doctors over the years. As a Psychologist, I have a nasty habit of sizing people up when I meet them.

Dr. Nguyen is absolutely one of the most caring, congenial, charismatic and helpful doctors I have ever met. He takes time and explains everything. He actually acts happy when you ask questions. So many doctors act annoyed when you ask questions these days.

Dr. Nguyen and his staff goes way beyond simply "friendly " or "dedicated". They are empathetic to not only myself but to all those around me. As we know, no one wants to be at a cancer center but even when I see a grumpy patient, a hard-of-hearing patient or an Alzheimer patient, this excellent staff is consistently calm, respectful and reassuring. This staff is able to gain their patients' trust using direct eye contact and a gentle approach. It is obvious they truly care and frequently get patients to smile (even laugh) with positive back and forth banter. I feel that this positive atmosphere starts with Dr. Nguyen. Dr. Nguyen is an extremely distinguished oncologist; board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology (he even speaks 3 languages!). Dr. Nguyen is not only highly skilled but is honest and forthright; he sincerely cares about his patients as people. While other physicians may stand at the door and act as if they are on a time clock or they are running to lunch or the meter is running out on their parking space, Dr. Nguyen will sit down and talk WITH you (not just TO you) with direct eye contact! He will totally listen to your concerns and answer any questions you may have. He will end your visit by asking again if you have any more concerns that he can help with (or will he research answers if needed). He will also tell you to always feel free to call the office if you do have any more concerns! Dr. Anthony Nguyen is highly regarded by his colleagues as evidenced by the fact that I was referred to him by not only my primary physician but by other specialists as well!
