I got a paper signed my my primary doctor to have oral surgery. While there a lady who I don't remember seeing before helped me beyond measure. She made one phone call and took care of an administration problem I have dealt with for two years. I couldn't ask for a better doctor and the staff is top notch.

I have been to my doctor's office several times now and I couldn't be happier with the quality of professionalism from everyone. All smiles and very nice and helpful. Every single person there seems to really care about the people coming in. We are not just a number to looked at and told when to return. Aug/28/25

I went here to meet my new primary care doctor. I couldn't be happier. Dr. Mathews seems to really care about me and I am not just another person. I love how she didn't mix words with me about my health. Told me off a lil on the first day. Dr. Mathews also got me great referrals and is. really helping me to get on a healthy way of life.

The reviews have got to be paid for because there’s no way they got 5 stars with their set up. My original appointment was a month ago and I’m still trying to get in to see a doctor for an emergency! First appointment the lady didn’t come in to work they book me at a whole other office weeks out now the lady resigned and they are not helpful whatsoever they treat their faults like it’s on you! Now the best they can offer is an appointment a month out that they’ll probably have an excuse not to follow through with as well. Like most places if it’s their fault they’d fit you in anywhere they can around the time of the appointment or they’ll have a doctor stay later but they are so unprofessional! Can’t even say it’s just one office because it seems like they have issues at every single office. I’ve never had a doctor cancel on me ever not even once and they are going on 3-4 in a row!!

Update: Latisha called and was super nice and told me if I had any issues again to just call her which was way more comforting than someone who had no clue how to help and made me feel like it is what it is.

I have been a patient since they were known as Nevada Health and Wellness. The medical assistants, a couple of the front office reps, and Dr. Mathews make visits pleasant. However, lately, it is work trying to get someone on the phone.

Between AI customer service and an actual answering service once you bypass that, messages are returned maybe 60% of the time. It’s been about a month and I have had very little luck getting a prescription sorted out. It has been and continues to be extremely frustrating.

I also spent 45 minutes in the parking lot for a walk in lab visit, after finding the doors were locked during their advertised business hours. 2-3 other people showed up and waited before giving up and leaving much sooner than I did.

Rini, her medical assistant and the phlebotomist are all amazing. The reason for the low review is you can NEVER get ahold of anyone at this office. Today I called to get lab draw hours and was routed to an AI virtual assistant. That is better than no one answering, but the AI gave me completely wrong information. It said lab work was Mon, Wed and Thur from 8-12 and 1-4. I showed up with my son to have both our bloodwork done at 11:30, and the phlebotomist was at lunch. It was a complete waste of our time and now we have to go back tomorrow. If you are going to have AI answer your phones then give it accurate information. For anyone wondering the phlebotomist takes their lunch from 11:30-1 pm and they draw blood Mon-Fri.

I made a new patient appointment simply to establish a PCP. I wasn't in need of any care on this visit so the rating is based entirely on my arrival. I was booked an 8am appointment and told to arrive 30 minutes early for the usual new patient paperwork. I arrived a little more than 30 minutes early and stood at the locked door for 10 minutes before going back to sit in my car. While sitting in my car, another patient pulled up and they went to the door. Found it locked as well. They waited about 5 minutes before someone let them in. I safely assumed the office was open now and went to the door. It seemed stuck so I pushed hard on it. I think it only opened because the receptionist opened it. Already irritated because I was told to be there at 7:30am and no one was there to meet me, I was then scolded about forcing the door. I was told I was going to break it. She went on to explain that it is on an unlock timer for 7:50am. Apparently I was somehow supposed to know this. 🤨 I just saw 2 people walk in just before me. I assumed the office was now open and the door was unlocked. Not to mention I was told twice to arrive 20 minutes ago. After going back and forth a few times, her trying to excuse her behavior and me trying to get her to understand I couldn't have known the door was locked and not due to auto unlock for another couple minutes (or whatever), I sat down to fill out the paperwork. Lastly, the paperwork requires a signature that you received the Privacy Policy (as they all do require a signature) but I was not given the Privacy Policy. I asked for it so I could sign the paperwork. The same receptionist did not know what that was or where to get it. To her credit, she searched it out on her computer and printed me a copy. I know people are in the habit of just signing whatever is put in front of them. But I wonder how long she has been in her position that no one has ever informed her of the Privacy Policy that they ask each patient to sign receipt of?? In the end she apologized for the rough beginning which is why I gave 2⭐. The back office staff was pleasant. I left noticing the 5 star customer service rating they proudly display above their door. I thought "hmmm, well see..."

My first visit to this clinic and Dr. Catherine Nguyen Ward today was excellent. The wait time was acceptable before I was seen comparing with Intermountain. The front office staff was very professional; the receptionist cared about each patient and didn't rush anyone. The nurse who took my vitals was also a very young lady and truly professional.
The doctor, hands down, was wonderful and professional. She listened to everything I said. Such respect for patients is rare today. I am waiting for a virtual follow-up appointment and will update my review if needed. I needed a blood test, but the lab was closed between 11:30 and 1:00. When I returned to the doctor's office, it was still bustling like a beehive, with everyone efficiently doing their job. I was in the waiting room, and the doctor saw patients on time, without delay. The phlebotomist was also amazing; she had such a gentle touch. I'm a difficult patient to draw blood from, but she succeeded on the first try. In a nutshell, this office is great. And as a bonus close to my house.

Worst customer service ever. So I have insurance through my work and I called to schedule an appointment to see a doctor. The man who answered the phone (I believe his name was Gus) puts me on hold and came back on the line telling me he spoke to a co-worker and they do not take my insurance. I explained that I got the information for that facility from the insurance website and asked him to please call to verify the insurance. He replied that he did not need to call as a co-worker told him the insurance was not accepted. I again told him that the my insurance was accepted as that facility was listed on the insurance website and his co-worker was wrong. I again asked him to please call the number number provided on the back of my insurance card and they would be able to confirm the insurance was good. He refused again and said he was not going to call anyone because there was no need. This individual needs serious training or termination. He should not be assisting patients if he is unwilling to do his job to make calls to verify insurance and to outright dismiss a patient is unacceptable. After that call ended I called the insurance company and confirmed that Valley Oaks was indeed part of the program and does take my insurance and they would have someone reach out to that facility to discuss and educate them. Shameful way to treat people, just shameful.

This was my third office visit with Rini Mathews. She is quite personable and knowledgeable. She reviewed all of my lab work with me, and answered all questions I had.
Office staff stated that they are currently still accepting new patients.

This was my first visit to Dr. Tan. We are getting to know each other. I’m getting the usual referrals and check ups. Seems like a smart and kind man, so I’m optimistic! It was easy to check in and they have 4 people working the front desk (which is necessary these days because the simplest things can be complicated.) everyone was nice and it was fast, I didn’t have to wait.

I came to Valley Oaks following my PCP Rini Mathews. She is the most caring, through and patient driven provider I have ever met. With her is patient first. She took care of my father while he was alive and after seeing her dedication and how she treated him, I switched over to her. I will continue to follow her wherever she goes. She’s a one prescription type of Dr, meaning she mostly resolves the condition with minimal medications. She’s always been spot on with any of my treatments. I absolutely adore her as my physician she is very professional and kind with her patients. Very seldom seen anymore. Valley Oaks team are very kind and friendly group of girls. Al in all is a winning combination.

It's not professional. I already had a schedule, and when I arrived, they said the doctor was not there and that I needed to reschedule for next year. Even though it's not my fault, the doctor did not say anything. It's very unprofessional and wastes patient time.

It was my first visit to seeDr. Mark Tan. I was looking for a new position and he was referred by my insurance company and anytime an insurance company refers you to see any kind of doctor. It’s not always a good sign. Dr. Mark Tan was different from the moment that I entered the office, the waiting room was welcoming and inviting the office. Staff was very congenial and pleasant and made sure I had all of my needs taken care of at the office. The weight was extremely short to be able to get into see the doctor. Once they took me back, they took my vitals and asked me for any other information that I might want to share with the doctor or if I had any questions or topics I would like to discuss with the doctor. Once Dr. Tim came into the room I felt very at ease and as if I was speaking to someone that I had known for a very long time. he was very caring, courteous, kind, and compassionate and did an excellent job with beginning to manage my care. If there were 10 stars he’d get an 11.

I love this doctor's office & my doctor. I'm older & this is the best doctor I have ever had. Rini Mathews is very thorough & listens. Her recommendations/diagnosis have always been correct. I never feel rushed to get all my questions answered. The office staff is efficient & friendly. I never wait very long in the waiting room.

If Rini Matthews is the provider assigned to you I highly recommend getting a new one. She has overall lack of compassion, no empathy, and does not follow up on test results positive or negative. It is impossible to get ahold of the office via phone and the portal does not let you send a message either so if you need actual medical care/assistance you cant reach them. I ended up having to call my primary to have anything done.

Kind and competent doctors and staff. I typically see Dr. Vyas-Lahar, who is very thorough. I most recently had a good experience with Dr. Tan and was grateful to be seen by another covering physician within the practice who was also wonderful. I like that it’s easy to coordinate care through the patient portal and that I have access to referrals and test results. Thank you, Valley Oaks.

Everyone at this office is awesome. They are efficient, friendly and I would recommend them to anyone. They even have gone out of their way to switch prescriptions for me when my insurance didn’t cover the medication. Would deff recommend.
