Have you ever been ignored and treated rudely at a dentist's office? I have, twice.

Moved from Henderson to North Las Vegas so I needed a new dentist. On my first visit, after approaching the receptionist, I waited while one person was taking care of another patient and another person was simply sitting at her computer chatting with a co-worker. I thought maybe it was a one-off so I simply waited before I was given the new patient info to fill out. But still, since they had the form on a clipboard already, why wouldn't the second person, simply check me in and give me the forms to fill out, rather than make me wait--a very long time before I could even fill out the paperwork? She could have done so in less than one minute.

Came back for a follow-up appointment and admittedly, I made a mistake about the appointment time and showed up about one hour early--my mistake. But again, the same thing. This time a young Asian lady was at the receptionist's desk and was chatting away with a co-worker. She was not rude but in a monotone told me to have a seat and she would get back to me. Again, what is wrong with these people?

Finally, after waiting way too long she took a break from her chat with her co-worker and casually called me up. It took less than a minute to pull me up in the computer to tell me I my appointment was later. She was correct. I was wrong. But why did she make me wait all that time before pulling me up in her computer. Definitely more focused on chatting with her co-worker than her patients.

Don't they know the most important people in their orbit is their patients? Don't they know the basics of customer service and that the first thing they should do is take care of their patients? It takes less than a minute to check someone in and then they can get back to gossiping with their co-workers. Without their patients they would not have a job.

Before I left, she reminded me my appointment was in one hour. I told her to cancel it. I will not be coming back to this place. Chatting with their co-workers is a much higher priority, than making their patients feel welcome.

Post script: Apparently, they only reply to positive reviews. Avoid, they do not straddle the line that separates healthcare from conducting business. They clearly are more interested in making money than providing first class care to their patients.

This is definitely not your typical dental practice. Dr. Yap is absolutely amazing and very personable. She explains all of the procedures to you prior to just digging into your mouth. She is a wealth of information and all of her staff have been incredible to me! I had a dental emergency and required extensive and painful work for an abscess, and they were able to get me in within 12 hours and get the procedure done. The pain was unbearable. Although I was not able to tolerate the anesthetic, Dr. Yap utilized multiple modalities to ensure that I was comfortable. All of the staff are very personable and remembers me every time I go in. This is a great practice! If I could give them 10 stars I would! Thank you Bliss team, for always being so nice and helpful! I am a forever patient here 😊

I made an appointment for a cleaning confirmed twice, came in and they said I’m not getting a cleaning I’m getting 3 fillings, so I go to the back for 3 fillings, I had Dr yap, and she did not numb my bottom teeth right, she had to numb me 7 times, and it still hurt, and she said you’re fine I’m almost done. Then she kept choking me with the wooden stick and I had to make her stop, and push it out with my tongue 4 times because it kept going down my throat and she just left it there. She also left the room for 5 minutes with my mouth open with a guard in and didn’t say anything, I was so confused. Then while she was doing my fillings she stabbed under my tongue and I had her stop and said something just stabbed me and she acted confused, also when I had braces I got 4 cavities filled and now I have a back bracket on that my ortho never took off, and she said we’re gonna try to do our best but that’s in my way so we’ll see. And kept hurting me and I kept moving back and she kept saying you’re fine we’re almost done, very rudely, then she kept choking me with my tongue and hurting my tongue by smashing it very hard while being very aggressive, and I had her take out the mouth guard because she was pinching me constantly and not caring and just talking to her assistant and she got upset and was like I’ll just take this out then. She kept saying ugh and sighing like I was doing something wrong, and then at the end she finished and said very rudely you’re done and just left the room. I will never go to her again, she was rude , aggressive, and not reassuring or professional at all, I don’t understand how she works as a dentist. This is the worst experience I have ever had in my life.But the other staff was amazing , just Dr yap that was horrible.

Had my first and last visit with them today! The person taking the X-rays was HORRIBLE! X-rays typically take about 15 minutes this was a whole 45 minutes ordeal with multiple attempts to get the images. And I didn’t appreciate being gagged. Her bedside manner was not the best either. I guess it was taking so long someone else had to come in and take over. Additionally, I was never notified that I wouldn’t be able to get my cleaning done at my first appointment. I was then told today I would have to get my cleanings done in 2 parts. No one has time for multiple dental appointments just for a basic cleaning. Will be going back to my old office and will never be stepping foot in this place again. Big waste of time!!

I have a bad tooth, made that clear upon getting the appointment. I went to this place since it’s close to my residence and it’s good for Medicaid. I wanted the tooth gone or fixed. I can’t eat anything cold without extreme pain. The room I was shown didn’t have any working equipment, except the X-ray camera. After they looked at the X-ray of the tooth I was told the office manager would be in to discuss options and co-pay. Which I thought was odd since I’m on Medicaid which is 100%. After about 15 mins they came in told me that Medicaid doesn’t pay for adults to get filling and that I’d have to pay 240.00 to get a filling (since have talked to the insurance company and they said that was not true) or that they would refer me to an oral surgeon to have it pulled. I guess they can’t pull a tooth. 3 weeks later I still have a bum tooth and won’t see the oral surgeon until next week.

I’m really disappointed with how this office handled my appointment inquiry. I called to set up a visit, and they took my insurance info, saying they’d call back after verifying it. That call never came. When I followed up, they only quoted me $372 deep cleaning, which I had done previously, but never mentioned that my insurance covers a standard cleaning. I had to find that out myself. If I hadn’t checked, I might have assumed I had no coverage at all. When I told them I couldn’t afford that and would need to set another time, they still didn’t mention my insurance-covered option. It feels dishonest to only quote the most expensive option without providing full information. Transparency is important, and this experience made me lose trust in their office. That being said, once you get past the front desk issues, the doctors themselves are great, and I would recommend them—but unfortunately, I won’t be returning

This is my second review since my first magically disappeared. This is now the condensed version. Caucasian receptionist is rude with no warmth. The woman that cleaned my teeth was great. Doctor Yap is terrible. I was told I could address my concerns when the doctor came to exam me. She spent all of 40 seconds with me. She has zero bed side manner. I was brushed aside as if I didn't matter. My husband has seen her before and he felt the same way. To make matters worse, when he was incapacitated on narcotics this office proceeded to sell him things he didn't need and for whatever reason stole his prescription for a light sedation. I will never come here again and I will make sure my entire family doesn't either. It'd also gross how they have print outs all over their office that if you leave a good review you can get a free drink. Disgusting. This woman shouldn't be allowed to practice dentistry.

I was recommended to Dr. Yap at Bliss Dental and I had my initial visit today for a consultation of 2 possible procedures. I met the Dr. who exhibited the bed-side manner that I have been looking for...so sweet, so gentle, so reassuring; but, professional and knowledgeable while offering options for my dental care. I had an unexpected issue with elevated blood pressure and the Dr. herself (not an assistant) attended to me and my situation with so much patience and understanding in an attempt to conclude for both of us at least the completion of one of those procedures...and she succeeded! The dentist here has amazing tableside manners. She is so kind, gentle, and overall a great personality. She's a delight as is her team.

I do need an implant or bridge put in and was quoted over $5,000 out of pocket. I know dental work is expensive and pretty much a luxury but the pricing was insane. I did get a second opinion from another dentist in town who quoted me like $1,600 less.
I emailed Bliss Dental if they were willing to price match it if I sent it over so that I could have it done with my regular dentist who I do truly like. They never got back to me or answered me so I took that as a no.

They don't offer in-house payment plans which I know is pretty common in the world of dentists but running my credit to one of their partners, who are known to have bad reviews, is just not something I want to do.

My main reason for the 2 star review is that whenever I go in for my routine check-ups, the dentist sees you after the hygienist does the cleaning. Very standard. This past time I was in, I overheard the lovely hygienst tell the dentist "no issues" before she came in to see me.

The dentist has asked me several times already if I would be interested in whitening a slightly grayesh molar in the back and if I feel self conscious about it. She also offered another vanity fix on another molar. I said no, I was fine.

I find that kind of insulting because I've never brought this up because it's never been a concern for me. I put in a lot of time and care into my teeth so although definitely not perfect, I don't regularly have big issues and aesthetically, my teeth look just fine to the normal eye. In fact, I told my husband the cosmetic fixes she recommended and my husband got real close to my mouth and asked, "you have slight graying?!?!" My husband, a man who sees me pretty much 24 hours a day every day for over a decade had no idea I even had these small cosmetic flaws.

I just don't like that it seems like if your teeth are fine, it's like the dentist will try to scrape the bottom of the barrel for ANYTHING to sell you on.

In my opinion, teeth will always need work and regular maintenance which means a dentist will always make a profit off you and your insurance. People will need to see their dentist for the rest of their lives (if priviliged enough to). So, if you're trying to convince me every time I come in to pay for tiny, cosmetic fixes that no one can notice on me, that I never even worried about or brought up myself, that I have already said no on, then I can't trust you to do my big dental work for the high prices since it seems like cash-grab attempts to me.

I also feel like if people have cosmetic concerns for their teeth, they will very freely come in to discuss it with their dentist. But to try to sell me on a super tiny cosmetic flaw every time I come in seems so cheap to me.

Again, they are lovely and have delightful personalities so you will be happy here if cost isn't an issue. But in this economy, I need to find an equally good dentist that I can financially trust so I had my last visit at Bliss Dental last week and will be finding a new dentist.

UPDATE: Bliss Dental did reach out to speak about my review. I will pass as I'm already in search of a new dentist but I do appreciate and greatly respect the attempts to communicate with patients. As I said, you will be happy with this place....They're just not a financial fit for me.

I recommend going to Bliss Dental, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor and hygienist took the time to go over my oral health with me including my X-rays and pictures. They have advanced technology. When I was getting my teeth cleaned, the hygienist took her time and did a great job. She made sure I was comfortable. Overall I give Bliss Dental 5/5 stars ☺️

I went today for my routine cleaning, the hygienist was extremely friendly and fast I barely feel any pain when she was cleaning my teeth, I felt like I knew her for a very long time, they don't put any type of pressure when they want to offer different treatment they just ask you and they don't convince you. the office is so clean the receptionist is so awesome. I won't change my dentist anymore. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍

Everyone was friendly and I felt well taken care of here. Normally I have bad experiences at dentist offices. I have a small mouth and need them to use smaller instruments during X-rays. I also gag, but they had a fun way to distract me by lifting my leg up during the X-ray. It did the trick. I even had a deep cleaning and didn’t feel any pain. I loved coming here and look forward to future visits.

I brought my son to Pearl Vision Flamingo location to get examined and upon entering we were greeted and then shortly taken back to have some initial exams done before seeing Dr. Amy H. The assistant that helped us with my sons exams was very sweet and kind, she was very patient and explained everything they would do step by step.
We met with Dr.Amy, she also was very kind and professional and after some assessments knew right away how to start my son on a path to help correct his vision with some adjusting of his lenses and suggesting to change his contact lenses to bifocal lenses which I had never heard of. It was a great experience and I would definitely keep coming back.

My 3 girls have gone here twice. I should have learned from my first encounter. While many would like the quick in and out, I don't appreciate it. We're talking dental services for kids. Waiting time after check in is quick. But my kids make it to the chair and out inside of 5, maybe 7 mins. Let's be clear here... What are you really checking and cleaning inside of 5 minutes. And with my second youngest, they are always referring me elsewhere for "possible" cavities as they say they don't have the ability to service that at their location. That in turn costs me $40 out of pocket for ADDITIONAL x-rays because the additional place doesn't except Bliss Dentals x-rays because they say they're always blurry.

While Affordable Dental for Kids is a bit further, they have always offered exceptional and very detailed experiences. I think it's time I make the drive and go back there.
