Did surgery on my knee. Never really healed correctly. When I tried to go back I was directed to a website to make an appointment. Did so, only to have some one call and say I could only have that appointment if I was a new patient. Since I was an established patient I would have to reschedule for 4 weeks later. Put an established patient behind a new patient. Time to find someone new. I have had great results with other Drs at Desert Orthopedic but this one isn't good. I should have backed out before the surgery when they sent me running across town to get my primary cares permission for the original surgery only to have the primary care be very upset that they would want permission on short notice without doing the actual testing they wanted him to sign off on. When push came to shove Hanson did the surgery without the testing and without the primary cares okay. All I can say is good luck if you choose him.

If I could give zero stars, I would. He performed my original surgery on my left hip, and years later I had to return for issues with the same hip. This time, I saw his PA. Clearly, the first surgery wasn’t done well because I was back for the same problem. During the visit, his PA accused me of drug-seeking, even though I had a labral tear. I was in severe pain while she moved my leg during the exam. She asked me “How many pills do you want?”

Frankly, his PA is not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to patient care. If she isn’t going to listen to patients and instead make false assumptions, she shouldn’t be working in healthcare. I specifically wanted to see the DOCTOR, not a PA. So, watch how your appointments are scheduled and confirm who you’ll actually see.

He didn’t fix my hip correctly the first time, so I went elsewhere. The new provider treated me with respect and actually helped me—unlike his PA. Since the PA works under the Dr. he gets blame too. He should worry less about being a professional team doctor and help people or quit working on patients in his office.

My son Jason just had his shoulder labral repaired and tacked on. Dr Chad Hansen is the absolutely the best orthopedic doctor in Nevada! Amazing bedside manners, very humble, compassionate, and knows his stuff! Surgery very successful and son is on the road to recovery! Son was nervous at the surgery center but they made him feel at ease. Everyone was nice at the surgery center! The nurse that took him in and also the post op nurse were amazing! Prior to surgery he was seen at desert orthopedic by Dr Hansen and also his PA Meg and medical assistant Kelsey! They are all amazing! So kind and have the best bedside manners! They are caring and kind! If I could give them 100 stars I would! I recommend them to anyone who needs orthopedic care! For physical therapy my son goes to desert orthopedic physical therapy which is the same company. Physical therapist is amazing and knows his stuff! Can't ask for a better physical therapist! Very patient and experienced and knows his stuff! He explains everything thoroughly and clearly. Thank you Dr. Hansen and team for taking great care of my son! I'm so grateful for everything you guys helped my son through and continue to do so!!!!!

My daughter, recently had arthroscopy for a discoid meniscus with Dr.Chad Hanson.

Dr. Hanson is a kind, caring doctor that makes you, as the patient, feel important and not rushed. He explains everything to you in laymen's terms and is quite thorough. I was ready to prepare for surgery and Dr. Hanson reassured me I don’t have to go down that path. The appointment was detailed, I could ask all the questions I wanted, I understood what was going on with my body and am ready to follow the treatment plan prescribed. He really listened to my concerns and I feel better knowing what’s going on with my issue. I’m glad I was referred to him and I will do the same if asked.

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Hanson. I treated with him for a shoulder injury and a hamstring tear. He provided me wonderful medical care for both issues. My hamstring required surgery and Dr. Hanson did an incredible job. Dr. Hanson's bedside manner was awesome and his staff was always so responsive to all of my needs.

I evaluated a woman who just completed rehabilitation for her right TKA went great BUT she is seeking out alternates that would prevent having to endure left TKA because the post-op pain wasn't controlled. Please plan ahead for appropriate pain management, rehab will be much better and she will be much stronger, faster and absolutely love the ortho team. FIRST..Do no harm.. .
