Terrible experience. Was given a same day appointment @340. Arrived in office at 3:42 due to needing to wait for a wheelchair and the office staff told me I needed to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment - which was never disclosed. Filled out new patient paperwork via email and the office staff claims they never got it but was able to verify my information. now the dr won’t see me. The office “lead” Cathy had no sense of customer service or interest in helping continued to roll her eyes which every question I asked. VERY Rude and disrespectful

I can't say enough good things about the staff at DOC. Seen Dr King yesterday for my right toe and left toe. Dr King took his time to explain to me what I was looking at on my xrays yesterday. Then explained further in detail what he was going to do to solve my big toe arthritis issue. I was extremely grateful yesterday and that Dr King listened to me and took his time with me. Dr. Matthew Fouse completed a meniscectomy on my R knee on 09/10 and he and the staff are amazing. I was able to get in for a pre-op appointment and a surgery appointment very quick and efficient. When I arrived at the surgery center, the front desk was amazing in letting me know all the information I had prior to my surgery. When I went in to get ready, the surgery staff who would be in with Dr. Fouse introduced themselves to me and helped me feel good going in. After surgery, my knee has been better than ever thanks to him and his staff. Dr. Fouses' assistant Nick was awesome with answering any questions and concerns that I had after my surgery no matter the time of day.

While I’ve had some care here, rating this practice is meaningless because it’s virtually impossible to get an appointment. I got a referral from my PCP in July for a foot consult and was told by the practice that they have no appointments through the end of the year. I asked about January 2027 and was told that they’re not booking them yet. Talk about a Catch-22!

Now I have serious hip pain and I don’t even have a referral yet. This is so discouraging. I miss my Northern California Kaiser Permanente experience more than I can express. They doggedly kept up their care until a problem was resolved. In Las Vegas, which has a factory model, you get shunted back and forth from one doctor or visit to another like a shuttlecock. Even if you’re persistent and assertive, like I am.

For the most part the visit was positive. A little confusion checking in, but that was resolved relatively quickly. Wait time was generally acceptable. I’m a physician myself and I’m a little sensitive about patients waiting but for the most part, it was Acceptable,about 20 minutes.
My experience with Dr. King was excellent. He was thorough professional, and did not seem to be rushed . He explained my condition and offered me a number of options for improvement. I would definitely Recommend DOC and Dr. King specifically.

I have gone to Desert Orthopedic a few times as well as a few family members. We all have had exceptional service there. They are very organized and do their best to get you in and out in a timely matter and honor your appointment time.
I have went to Dr Russell Nevins, MD most of the times I have needed an orthopedic. I really like him and his honesty as well as he pleasant to you and treats you with respect and doesn’t talk down to you like a lot of Dr’s anymore.
Recently I went in for problems with my knees. He explained what was wrong after doing some X-rays. Then he stated he was trying to get his colleague to come in but wasn’t able to as it wasn’t his expertise. He stated I needed more of a sports Dr which I respected then guessing and leading me down the wrong path.

I was a first time patient at DOC. The waiting room was large with wide comfortable chairs. I was pleased to see some higher chairs for those of us with bad knees. The front desk was friendly. You meet with a staff member who goes over your information and fills it in on the laptop for you. I was taken back at my appointment time. Everyone introduced themselves I felt welcomed there. All staff explained what they were about to do. I waited less than for Dr Nevin Wallin to come in. He introduced himself and gave me a hearty handshake. He was personal, friendly, informative and very patient with my questions. His assistant gave me a printed sheet with information on the topics we covered. I was impressed with Dr Wallin. He truly listened and answered all my questions and was very willing to refer me to outside sources/ doctors, if needed. This was a very positive experience.

Very fit 69yo who resistance trains 4 days a week Injured a knee.
Contacted Desert Orthopaedic Center and the Staff was able to locate an available appointment asap. They took X-Rays of my knee and shortly there after I was seen by Dr. Russell Nevins MD.
Dr. Nevins performed an examination and in looking at the X-Ray explained what was going on with my knee. Dr. Nevins gave me sound resistance training advice as to prevent the straining of my knee in the future. Highly recommend the Desert Orthopaedic Center Doctors, Nurses and Staff.

Horrible Customer Service / No Accountability
Arrived 30 minutes early for my scheduled appointment that I received an email confirmation on both day and time, to be told the email was wrong and that they were unable to accommodate me. The location is on the complete opposite side of town and there was no acknowledgment or offer to provide solutions. Their team is so efficient, I've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for my scheduled appointments. For my broken ankle injury, their x-ray technicians were so helpful when making you comfortable for the x-rays, especially when the body part is injured. The doctors provide great information to prepare you for a procedure, giving you lots of good and bad expectations and care options. The on-site surgery center is very impressive - clean and an amazing team of professionals to help you feel relaxed and ease your anxiousness or nerves prior to the event. The nurses are amazing along with the surgery team, so gentle with their techniques and really make the surgery process so streamlined but personal at the same time. I have had several knee surgeries starting with two reconstructive surgeries, one in 1976 and another in 1978 due to traumatic football injury! Over the next 40 plus years there were some follow up surgeries due to all the debris build up due to little cushioning. The last five years have been extremely painful. From the first point of contact after registering on line, to check in, to the person walking me into X-ray, to the X-ray technician and physicians assistant, I was treated by professional, friendly staff! The facilities are state of the art and very clean. When Dr. Nevins came into the room, I met someone that truly listened to me. We had a very detailed and effective discussion and I never felt rushed. We formulated a mitigation plan and will discuss long term solutions after preliminary treatments and assessments. I received a painless cortisone treatment from yet another professional assistant and am experiencing some much needed relief as we move forward with long term solutions. I feel like I have a partnership with this team. I’m not just a number.

The office and staff were terrific but I needed a copy of my medical records and X-rays. To either retrieve my records or have them sent to another provider I have to pay. I have to pay to get my medical records a sent to another doctor and I have to pay again to get my x-rays sent. I paid for my appointment and my x-rays but apparently I’m not entitled to them unless I pay again. Nothing like nickel and dime your patients to make an extra buck.

I had an appointment and was waiting for 3 hours in the waiting lobby and after they finally called me in, I had to wait another hour for the doctor and then the assistant came and said the PA will be seeing ke because doctor is busy!!😳😳😳 4 hours waiting and the doctor I scheduled the appointment with doesn’t have time to see me!!

Due to poor management on their part, a procedure that was practically urgent has been unnecessarily delayed. Michael Trang PA-C has been administering gel injections in my knees for a couple of years. I’ve gotten the injections for several years and until Michael started doing them the procedure was painful. Michael is a magician who performs the injections with very little pain. The gel helps a lot and because Michael does the injections almost painlessly I do not dread getting them.

I came in with pain affecting my forearm, bicep, tricep, and shoulder, along with numbness and tingling extending from my shoulder to my fingers. As a bartender, this has significantly impacted my ability to work. I had taken the last three weeks off to rest, which is the only thing that has provided any relief.

Before I had even spoken with the doctor, I was directed toward getting X-rays. When I was informed that the total cost would be approximately $400 for the appointment and imaging, I asked what the X-ray was specifically intended to evaluate. I was not given a clear explanation and instead felt met with attitude. As a cash-paying patient, this lack of communication was concerning, especially since a brief explanation could have helped me make a more informed decision and potentially avoid unnecessary cost.

When I did see the doctor, the evaluation felt very narrowly focused on the forearm and did not fully take into account the broader pattern of symptoms or potential involvement of the shoulder, neck, or nerves. Despite this, the doctor declined to provide any work restrictions and stated that he did not believe I was doing any permanent damage.

If the working diagnosis is tendonitis, I found it concerning to be told that continuing to work through the pain would not cause any issues. From a patient perspective—especially given the severity of my symptoms and the presence of numbness and tingling—it’s difficult to reconcile that advice with the expectation to continue repetitive, physically demanding work. I would have appreciated more thoughtful guidance on activity modification and recovery rather than a blanket reassurance.

While I understand that perspective, it did not reflect the reality of my situation. Returning to work without restrictions would mean working through significant pain, including numbness and tingling, which affects my ability to function and my overall quality of life. Being told that it was simply “up to me” to return to work did not feel like a realistic or supportive recommendation given the physical demands of my job. this forces need to highly risk doubling and tripling the length of my recovery by continuing to work OR risk my employer letting me go permanently.

I understand that specialists work within a specific scope, but I would have appreciated a more comprehensive assessment, clearer communication, and consideration of both functional limitations and cost before moving forward with care. This may be the result of a broken health case system but the dismissive attitude of the Doctor didn’t seem like he cared or was willing to provide any help or solutions outside of suggesting i visit the office its own PT. Hmmmmm. wonder why. $$

If you want to have a “band-aid” fix then this is the place for you. I waited for over a hour and half to be seen and then my problem was not fixed, instead I was given a cortizone shot. I understand a little bit of a wait time but this on top of not fully addressing my issue was disappointing to say the least. Thank you Dr. Winder.

They need to stop talking about finances at the front desk loudly in front of other patients!
I love this place the DR’s are amazing but the front desk staff has no class or diplomacy training at all. There is no privacy when speaking to you and they talk like they are in a cafeteria. Loud and openly.

The office was clearly very busy, but everyone was still kind and professional. The doctor Michael Lee was friendly, smiling, and empathetic during my visit. I especially want to mention the assistant, who I believe is named Maria, she was very professional, kind, and willing to help. She made the experience much better. Overall, I felt well treated and cared for.

The office sends texts and emails for appointment reminders and wants you to come in 30 min early for paperwork, however they don’t call you up to finish the paperwork until your appointment time
I feel that’s a waste of time to come in early just to sit there and wait .
Finally when called had X-rays done 1st.
Had the X-rays done then was told no wait for the doctor. I did have to
Wait 20 min in the room for the MA
Then the doctor did come in 5 min later appointment time was 1035 finally left at 1200.

Pretty shady place. Someone was allowed to use my care credit without me being present. I assumed I’d get a call to confirm authorization or have me come down to sign paperwork but no. The person used more than what we had agreed on and they went over my limit. I was also told the receptionist told them it would be interest free for 2 years but that’s a lie. I haven’t been able to see any of the paperwork so idk what was signed on my behalf. Even my bf can’t get vet care for our pets without me present. Just a really unfortunate and shady situation all around. I’m having to pay almost thousands now. And I do blame this place for accepting payment just like that.

I received 3 emails WARNING me of a $50 fine if I should cancel my appointment inside of 24 hours. I also had to sign a 4th warning at the check in desk.
My appointment was cancelled by D.O. the afternoon before my morning appointment inside of 24 hours. I have the same rude and greedy policy. I would like to know where and when I can pick up MY $50. No one at D.O. seemed to know that answer.

My name is Mengjing Lu . On 12/29/2025, I had my first major surgery—a total left knee replacement—performed by Dr. Nevins Russell, and I could not be more grateful for my decision.

On the first day of my surgery, I was able to walk over 200 steps with a walker with almost no pain. Just 10 days post-op my knee bending and straightening has already met recovery standards and walking feels stable and natural.

Dr. Nevins Russell is an outstanding surgeon—highly skilled, knowledgeable and deeply responsible. My sincere thanks also go to Dr. Viet, Dr. Hassan and the entire medical team. They are professional,compassionate and truly exceptional.

Dr. Nevins performed my total hip replacement surgery, and the whole process was amazing. The way he and his team make sure you know what to expect before, during and after the procedure was awesome. I had my surgery about 6 weeks ago and I no longer need the walker or a cane. I am walking without any devices. The key is make sure you walk often and do the physical therapy. He will be doing my knee surgery too. Good luck to anyone going to have this surgery.

Having just moved to Las Vegas, I was highly recommended to this practice. The office staff was so accommodating and friendly from the appointment call to registration. The Intake staff and X-ray department was professional and attentive. Dr King was very knowledgeable to what was going on with my feet and had excellent understanding of my concerns.
