Dr. Stefanova was the last hospitalist to care for our son Miles. She came onto his team a week and a half before he died. At this point we were praying for a miracle. We wanted Dr. Stefanova to know that our son Miles died at the age of 23 on 11/1/24 from colon cancer without ever knowing he had cancer in the first place. A private autopsy showed that Miles died of metastatic adenocarcinoma with signet ring cells. The cancer had spread to EVERY organ in his abdomen. We want Dr. Stefanova to always remember our son Miles and his story. We hope she learns from our son's death so that this never happens to another family again. We are devastated and heart broken that he is gone all because doctors disregarded symptoms because of his age. We would not recommend this doctor or facility to anyone. Dr. Stefanova wrote the discharge note following his death. She was not anywhere around when our son died. No doctor that knew us was. It was a nurse who we had gotten to know over the last couple weeks and a palliative care doctor that we had never met in the room with us when our son died. We hope that all doctors involved in our son's medical care are held accountable for the choices they made that resulted in his death. We would not recommend any doctor involved in our son's care.
