My wife & I both see Dr. Poertner and we love him! He is very knowledgeable and very good at his profession. My wife has struggled with type 2 diabetes for almost 20 years. She started seeing Dr. Poertner in 2025. On her first visit her A1C was in the 11s. Now its consistently in the 5s and she feels better than she's felt in years. In addition, he's also a nice guy and a good person. He's very thorough, but also very patient. We never feel rushed during appointments and he does an excellent job of explaining things so we understand. I scheduled a new patient appointment with Dr. Poertner for April 7, 2026. This appointment was scheduled way back in September 2025. The April 7th appt was his first new patient appt. I specifically wanted to establish care with him, so I booked the appointment. Fast forward to March 31, 2026, I received a text message this morning at 8:01am asking that I confirm my appointment, which I did. Then at 10:33am I received a other text saying that Dr. Poertner is no longer accepting new patients. I called the clinic and they said sorry for the inconvenience. While they did offer to reschedule me with another provider, I was no longer interested in rescheduling with their group. After SEVEN months and a week before my appointment, in the same day I get a text notification asking to confirm my appointment, they did this to me. So upsetting and disappointing to waste SEVEN months to see Dr. Poertner.

I tried to establish care with Dr. Poertner over a year ago. I was pushed back till this year today. Now I’m being told the Dr won’t be available again today and I’ll have to reschedule. This is absolutely unreal. Over a year just to establish care? Go anywhere but here. This office is so unprofessional and can’t even tell me the next time I can reschedule with the doctor. Scheduled a new patient appointment with Dr. Poertner in June. The soonest he had available was the end of October, so I scheduled the the appointment with expectation of a wait. Was texted 9/22 from the facility asking to call to reschedule. When I called I was told that Dr. Poertner was not taking any additional new patients for the year and they were looking to reschedule in 2026. Rather than honoring his commitment, I was asked to wait ~6 months out from when I originally called to schedule. Since this would be the second reschedule from their side, I just don't have faith that the office will flake again and don't appreciate how they value their customer's time. Wishing them them best and hope all good things for their current patients, but do not want to support a business that treats people this way.

I have been waiting since July for an appt in November. I called 2 days ago to confirm the appt. They confirmed the appt. I got a call toady saying they need to cancel and the quickest they could get me in was March. That is 8 months just to get an appt with him. I explained that it was unacceptable but they did not care and did nothing.

Drove to our appointments today and apparently Jonet didn’t schedule both my husband and myself for our appointments. We booked these a year ago. We both showed up today and they wouldn’t see us both. Very very frustrating driving across town for an appointment and then they don’t work with us because of their mistake!!!!!!!
