Cancer is bad enough, but what an absolute nightmare this office is. Started okay with Dr. Morar and Dr. Youseff, but of course all good providers leave this office.
I had the displeasure of doing business with the providers to follow for years with my father.
Mukherjee said herself, the left does not communicate with the right.
It has been a full-time job for the last 3-4 years going behind this office staff to make sure administrators do their job adequately.
Seen Dr. Mukherjee numerous times over the years and half of those visits she SWORE she had never met us before! And I audio recorded every single appointment for my own notes!
I HAD TO LITERALLY CRY TO HER ABOUT HOW FRUSTRATED I FELT ABOUT THE SITUATION FOR HER TO REMEMBER US!!!!! AND THEN SHE DID IT AGAIN A MONTH LATER!!!!! I would not trust this woman professionally or otherwise.
She ordered chemotherapy, medications, numerous labs, and submit multiple referrals for my father yet she swore she never saw us!
I had to recite her words from previous appointments VERBATIM and she still denied having ever seen us! Once she realized how wrong she was, she sat down next to me, apologized profusely, and made multiple excuses about how it was the notes in my dads chart that showed my dad still being listed under the old provider.
My father and I were absolutely flabbergasted that she would INSIST that she never met us. Clearly she is overwhelmed with so many patients that she doesn’t even consider us human anymore.
It is alarmingly concerning that an oncology specialist cannot distinguish or recognize her own notes or a patient she had met on NUMEROUS OCCASIONS.
She would try to gaslight us and she would BLATANTLY LIE about more things than I can even list.
Don’t even get my started on the office staff. I can’t think of a group of more useless individuals. Be prepared to become a medical assistant, receptionist, insurance specialist, and practically your own damn oncologist when dealing with this disaster area!
The oncology institute is absolute and total nightmare.
The only good oncologists leave the practice.
My advice is go ANYWHERE else. If you have to change your insurance to do so, I highly highly recommend doing so.

The workers there were, nice and very attentive to me. After seeing the doctor, I came home to make decisions of what process I have to make concerning my chemotherapy. I specially want to thank Junna for all the encouragements She gave me when the medication was keeping me down. I just wanted to quit. But she kept edging me on, and if wasn’t for her. I don’t think I would’ve made it through. Thank you, Junna.

This place has gone down hill!!!The front staff was fine but Dr. Jose Valladares has the worst service absolutely no empathy does not take the time to explain anything and if you ask any question, its like you are giving him a chore …I am not even the patient and am outraged at the way that he treated me and my mother in law which is who I bring to her appointments.

I wanted to give (- star rating) w/ this location & clinic. It's a 2nd time they re-schedule appt w/out informing their patients. Today is MLK day, they schedule appts to a lot of patients & their door is CLOSED when we get there! Sunce the 1st time its already negative, hence husband said give a chance. NEVER AGAIN, NOT a Professional clinic gow would you run a business like that?

I receive a higher standard of care when I take my car in for an oil change than I have received as an oncology patient from this office.
My only initial appointment with Dr. Mukherjee was scheduled for New Year’s Eve, requiring me to travel from another state and cancel holiday plans. Upon arrival, I was informed—without any prior notice—that my appointment had been canceled. The staff claimed a message had been left; I showed them my phone log, which confirmed no call, voicemail, or text from this office. When I asked why a text was not sent—despite the fact that this practice actively uses a patient texting system—there was no response.
I requested to see the physician since I was present at my scheduled time and had made significant efforts to attend. I was told she had already left. When I asked why my appointment had been canceled, I was told the office did not have treatment plans or notes from my prior oncologist. This was perplexing, as I had clearly explained—multiple times, including during scheduling—that I am not undergoing active treatment and am being followed for monitoring after a double mastectomy. This information appeared to be entirely lost within the office.
As an informed patient, I arrived prepared with complete pathology reports from all surgeries and current laboratory results. These primary medical records are not supplemental—they are foundational. The medical assistant’s inability to recognize their value was both concerning and indicative of a deeper operational failure.
Today was my rescheduled appointment. In an effort to prevent yet another arbitrary obstruction to care, I attempted to confirm the appointment. I have now been on hold for forty minutes.
This office demonstrates a profound lack of coordination, accountability, and respect for patients’ time and circumstances. The right hand does not know what the left is doing—and patients bear the cost of that dysfunction. Once again, I receive more competent, organized, and respectful treatment when I bring my car in for routine maintenance than when I seek oncology care from this practice.

I really wanted to trust this place to start my treatments. Unfortunately, it has been a nightmare from the beginning. They told me I have a referral with a surgeon but when I called the surgeon they had no referrals, documents, or lab results sent to them. When I called them to let them know they need to send the referral and other documents to the surgeon that I was referred to the lady on the line had no idea that these days all doctors need referrals. She made me find the phone number, fax number and the information of the doctor that their own office referred me to. So unprofessional and clueless. such a shame that our medical concerns should be managed by these types of people.

I set up appointment for Prolia shot. Got there on a Wednesday and they wanted me to come back on Monday for the shot. They never notified me that it wouldn’t be available the same day as the appointment. This is ridiculous. Do they just want my insurance to pay for two visits instead of one? I’m there. My appointment was for that day. I want the shot the same day as my appointment. I’m due another shot in six months. That gives me six months to find a different place.

Horrible office. They are not good at keeping patients informed. You waste time coming to their office. They claim to attempt to let you know if they have a message for you but they will only call you no voicemail. Staff seems lazy and uninformed. Dr's probably are as well, they will dismiss you if you are going in for preventative care. only want to see patients that are actively in chemo or actively dying of cancer. They dont give you any resources. This office justifies why las vegas is the worst city for healthcare

This is a very late review because I don't like giving bad reviews but I feel the need to add my comments. In February of 2024 I took my spouse to TOI for treatment. We were assigned Dr. Valladares. Not only was he unprepared, for and during our first visit, but he was still vague and unprepared during our second visit three weeks later. He didn't have all the paperwork he needed, although the doctors we went to for her other appointments prior to the follow-up visit with him had the results from her hospital stay and biopsy, and knew what was going on with her. He gave vague answers and his response was, "I pray for you" at the end of the ten minute office visit. When I left the office I immediately called and got a referral for a different oncologist. That was the best move I could have made. Now, a year and a half later, the insurance provider we're with is contracting out their oncology services to TOI next month. I will not be taking my spouse back to this place. I will find an insurance provider that will let me stay with Comprehensive Cancer Center. The oncologists there are amazing, so is the staff. And I know they first and foremost have their patients best interest at heart.

Small waiting room, many patients have to stand and wait for seating, My appointment is at 9:30 a.m. I waited over an hour and 15 minutes to see the doctor for approximately 7 minutes. I was scheduled for lab work when brought to the lab. They did not have me in the system . The lab is small with limited seating maybe 12 chairs This office here has too many patients and not enough room to accommodate them. And another thing they do not serve water juice, snacks any of those things in their lab and the prices are not cheap there I do not recommend going there. (Overcrowd) For now this is the only place I can go for iron treatments in Las Vegas that takes my insurance I will be looking for a new insurance company in November that's effective January 1st. 2026.

The young lady that did my iron infusion took excellent care of me. Even gave me iv fluids to help me bring my blood pressure back up. I didn't realize it but I was severely dehydrated due to stomach nausea the two days prior. It prevented me from eating and I could barely keep any fluids down. She was exceptional with her kind voice and concern over me. She even checked my blood pressure before I left so that I felt safe driving directly home.

The worse front office staff I have ever seen. No follow up on anything, lost or not found reports given to the doctor. You call and put through a million phone games but yet when you go in they are all sitting around talking, eating, fixing their make up. No one answers phones. Very short and some what rude when questioning anything. They act like patients are dumb and know nothing about their own care. When getting checked in they don't even ask about your medications from other doctors or get up to date info. MOST OF YOUR PATIENTS ARE DYING AND FIGHTING FOR OUR LIFE! Risk assessments go ignored. I like the doctor but now looking for a new center. Have complained about this twice and nothing changes.

Dr Mukherjee has been the worst Dr I've ever seen...they don't call me back.I'm a complicated case, there's always issues...plus I have lupus and Addisons Disease.edema and lymphadema ,nueropathy pain and she prescribed 30 pills for 30 days take as needed I took every 6 hours like always prescribed well I ran out in 2 weeks, she won't call me back ,they have not worked on my referrals..it's abandoned feeling and suffering from cancer effects..I'm being judged..I feel even more helpless throughout this cancer journey..don't go to this office.no compassion ..and I worked for Dr Gollard and an emergency room..I know of patience and compassion.im very upset and reported this to my insurance...my other physician friends say this is inhumane..😔

So far this will get a 1 star until I receive the proper attention and possible care I deserve, or I will kindly ask my primary to move me to a totally different Hemo/Oncologist office. Ther first visit I understand is a consultation to ask questions and for the Doctors to answer my concerns. Most offices in the medical field with new patients spend an average of 30 minutes to an hour for new patients, for existing patients normal time frame is 15-30. I have worked in the healthcare field for 20 years myself. My patients will always get the best bedside manners and customer service out of me. Along with the fact I also have received my associate's in health science for admin assistant and working on my bachelor's for healthcare management. My first visit was in total a 10 min consult with a dismissal to get scans of my chest and abdomen, also a bone marrow biopsy. The problem with the scan started with the information from the doctors request to my insurance for authorization, which my insurance denied due to the lack of notation and reasons for why the scans were being asked for AND MEDICAL NESSESSITY. This was to be done STAT after a fight with the insurance and notes in question, after the bone biopsy I was informed by the office assistant manager "Sheronda" that Dr Valladarez told her to let me know I no longer needed to do the scans and he would follow up with me at my follow up appointment. I was proactive and did the full body scan which is not what the dr wanted to see. He then walked in and asked me why I DID I NOT DO the scans he asked for. I explained what happened with his office assistant manager. Dr Valladarez literally spent 2 mins with me and scolded me for not having the other scans done. He then asked the "MA" the same question he asked me of who told me that and that was heard by me on the way out as if I was lying or something of sort. I called the office manager Mr. Larry and I told him I would still get the scans done and would like to see a different provider afterwards. Mr. Larry said that would be just fine and to call him after I did that so that he could get me scheduled. Also wanted to note that the MA asked me upon check in why was i there and when I showed her my legs she made the face of disgust to me. I did not go to the cancer center back in Texas because I was scared, however years later My body has went into an attack and inflammation. I would have thought out of all Ologist that Hemo/Oncology would have super compassion for patients because it is a scary thing having to face these scares. The lack of empathy, sympathy and bed side manners here is that of A place that is there just for the money. and made me feel like i was wasting their time. I never wanted to be in a cancer center, but my body and blood work has said otherwise. I was never even allowed to ask questions or recommend where I think I might need to go next. My puzzle has made me feel like I am a walking case study and thankfully prayer has helped me. I pray this next visit for the scans of my chest and organs show no sign of lesions or tumors so I can close out or get the care I deserve and to not be treated like I'm a disease or I've disgusted the medical staff with my legs that has already made my own self, self-conscious. YOU GET PAID TO BE COMPASSIONATE AND CARING IN THIS FEILD AND IF YOU CAN NOT HOLD UP TO THAT VALUE, HONOR AND RESPECT, PLEASE DO NOT WORK IN THIS FEILD!

Dr Rita is fantastic. I am taking off one star because you need to fix your damned phone system! There is no excuse to not be able to get a hold of somebody especially when we're dealing with cancer. And your staff seems to be well aware of it and no one seems to want to do anything about it. I don't know who's handling your damn phone system but they should be fired and you should bring somebody in that knows what they're doing to fix it! I hope I was blunt enough to get your attention.

Can I give this place ZERO stars? This place is terrible. The office decor is gloomy at best; the front desk people are rude and put out by patients coming in. They don't return phone calls for weeks on end, even to let you know your Oncologist doesn't even work there any longer!! They aren't helpful in having you get all of your tests and scans done before coming in, they would rather you come in after each one even if it's all due at the same time. I came in to find out if they were in business any longer. As if Oncology patients would ever be wanting to be doing any of this.

My visit with Dr. Vallagares provided me with a very thorough view of my procedures and made me feel so much more at ease regarding my prognosis. CUDOS to this new staff and doctor.

This “doctor” seemed to hear absolutely nothing I said and offered meaningless gibberish in response. He gave me a strange lab order to get rid of me and that was it. This passes for medical care in Las Vegas.

I found Dr.Valladares, to be very kind.He has a way of making you feel like you are his only patient, he takes time to explain your concerns, as for my treatment, I can't complain as they are very efficient and make you feel at home. But I believe you could use some additional help at your front desk. 😉

The front desk does not answer calls or do call backs when they said they would. My OB and other specialist are unable to reach this office so they asked me to try. No luck to get anyone to pick up the phones. I am due for delivery and will have to make the 1 hr track to their office to get my medications sorted out. It's too bad to leave this review since I do like Dr Parikh and nurses but front desk operation is a nightmare.

I usually drive to the location because no one answers the phone on the answering service. (This is not the fault of the folks that work there. It's their contracted answering serve provider's issue) Still, it impacts the overall experience.

The doctor was good and when you need treatment the nurses are very nice and professional but the office management is awful. You try to contact the office and no one responds. No one follows up with you after treatment to see how did you react. I had an allergic reaction after an iron infusion. It happened when I got home. I tried to reach the office via text first and because it was after hours no one responded. This is the respond I received when I sent the text message: “Thank you for reaching out to The Oncology Institute for assistance. You have reached us after hours. If this is an emergency please dial 911. To page your provider, please contact our clinic and our after-hours service will assist you.” Needless to say I called and the system simply hang up on me. There is no way to reach the provider.
They are in serious need of more people and/or a new system for appointments and for after hours service.

Dr Ammar Yousif is an attentive, knowledgeable and kind doctor. He gives eye contact and answers any questions you have about your health. Although, he has other patients, I felt like I was the only one because he didn’t rush me like many of the doctors do nowadays and I left w understanding and knowledge about my health.
I recommend him to anyone who is in need of an oncologist and/or a hematologist. He’s a rare doctor. The doctor assistant-she is also a gem.
