Extremely poor management.. appointment rescheduled (by them) twice and on the day of, still running 90 minutes behind. This is gross mismanagement. Only hope the surgical rooms are properly managed.

First the good, the nurses were nice and the front desk was friendly and efficient. But the experience was terrible . My husband is recovering from leukemia and has had countless procedures, surgeries, etc in the last 3 years and we have never experienced anything close to the post op procedures followed by green valley surgery center. I knew something was wrong when the nurse came out and told me to pull my car around. She just kept repeating that my husband was in severe pain. She said the doctor was not available to consult about why he was in such pain because she was in another surgery . When they wheeled him out , I was shocked . He was slumped over and non responsive to any questions that I asked him . I asked the nurse if there was anything they could do to help him , she shrugged and said they gave him multiple pain shots which didn’t appear to help with the pain but just made him incoherent . We got home at 10:30 am and finally by 3pm he started coming out of it . He has no memory of being wheeled out to the car or the drive home or how I had to get him from the car to the bed . Completely irresponsible of the surgery center to release someone in that condition. My advice to anyone going here is to demand to see your loved one before they wheel them out to the car to make sure they are ready to leave in a safe manner. The doctor finally called me and said she had no idea what caused him to be in such pain because it wasn’t normal for the surgery that he had. She said the surgery center should have let her know before releasing him in that condition .

My experience at this surgery center exceeded my expectations! The waiting area was spotless, light and comfortable. All employees, both at intake and in the surgery area, were kind, considerate and efficient. No complaints whatsoever!

ASC is even farther than Dr. Schorr's E. Flamingo office & very far from the referred NW office.1st YAG visit went smoothly, on time, ASC clean, all RN's with name badges, Brooke my RN stellar. Forms signed before appt., arrival, & in back.

2nd YAG arrived 20 min before appt time 1300. Waited to check in. Taken back after 1300, all 3 RNs cared for this time, Dr asked another patient if he was last victim, then went into closed room. I was taken into YAG room after 1330, was told Dr finishing a procedure, but another patient on a gurney was rolled into that room. I wasn't treated until after 1415 & didn't leave until after 1430. OSHA concern as Dr. Wearing socks only in an ASC.

This was my first time being treated at a “surgery center” for an invasive procedure where general anesthesia was being used (I was having an eye removed) Maybe this is the new “normal” in our for profit healthcare system. If you don’t mind being rushed and hurried throughout the entire process and you don’t mind being part of an overall procedure where you can’t help but feel like you’re in a factory where patients get their surgery, who barely wake from the anesthesia and then are literally escorted within minutes of the surgery’s completion to your prearranged ride home, then this is the place for you (not me!). I felt like I was in a “Bugs Bunny” cartoon where specimens were being spit out one after another onto a conveyor belt!

The sign-in process was typical. No hiccups or issues. The staff at the reception area was attentive and pleasant.

My experience went downhill when I was called to go to the surgical area.
1) As I entered the area, I was abruptly told to remove all my personal belongings and to place them in a locker. I was not given the key and no inventory was taken of what I placed into the locker. (Taking an inventory w/ a sign off or at least putting them into a sealed bag that only I could reopen later wouldn’t be conducive to the “efficient” system of processing as many patients and their surgeries as possible!)
2) As I was asked to lie down onto the “recliner” that I would be operated on, I couldn’t help but think one of the pillows being used was being used in succession (patient after patient). I can only trust the case on that pillow was changed each time (it looked gray).
3) As I was asked to lie back, a swarm of PAs, nurses and the anesthesiologist hovered over me. The Dr. Popped in in the middle of all this to say hello and check my eye. The anesthesiologist was prepping me to receive his meds, a blue cap was placed over my head, another person poked above the eye that was being removed, another person was taking my blood pressure (which was 160/110). It caused concern. They took it again but I heard a nurse state, “we’re going ahead anyway”. Mind you, all this happened within 5 minutes of me being called to the back and I started breathing in a mask that started to put me under.
4) My ride was told to be ready for a call to pick me up in 2 hours (2.5 max). He rec’d a call ONE HOUR after I went into the surgery area! He hadn’t even finished his breakfast! He came back to the center in 5 minutes. Within 2 minutes, I was being escorted to his car with my personal belongings being carried on the green folder that I kept my paperwork in. It was being used as a tray of sorts to ferry my items. Unfortunately, a titanium ring w/ 40+ years of sentimental value was not included (I just found this out 5 days later when I was recuperated enough to get dressed and go out into the world missing one eye. I will be making a claim.
5) I was not given any extra gauze. Nor was I given some kind of eye protection device (to keep me from rubbing it in my sleep - which I did the following night!). I was told I would be leaving with an ice pack, nope!
6) Was I really ready to be discharged after an hour of starting the procedure. It’s not like I had a tooth removed! I was disoriented, groggy, I was in and out of consciousness for the entire 20 min ride home. Having worked in the medical field (non medical positions) in post operative settings, I really don’t understand how any facility is comfortable sending a patient home within 45 minutes of being out under general anesthesia for an invasive procedure where the eye was removed.

Like I mentioned at the beginning, if being treated as a cog in an assembly line where patients are “spit out” one after another in an efficient manner is the result of our for profit healthcare system, then I guess I better get with the times. However, something tells me too many corners were cut in the name of “profit”.

Worst surgery center I have ever been to. Nurses are too busy gossiping to pay attention to patients. They have you arrive really early, get you set up in a recliner and then make you wait for hours. They overbill your insurance also. I had to appeal their bills to my insurance.

I talked with Beverly on the phone on 5-15-2023 to verify the schedule time on 5-17-2023 of my wife's eyelid lift surgery to correct conditions limiting her vision in both eyes. My wife, Michele, completed paperwork mailed to her ahead of time and submitted it to Jessica, who was very helpful processing it and collecting insurance and identification information.

We arrived at 8:40am early for a 9:30am scheduled arrival time. With everything completed early, they took my wife back to prepare for surgery at 9:20am. Dr. P. Lloyd Hildebrand MD, of New Eyes did the eyelid lift surgery on both eyes with assistance from Green Valley personnel. After surgery was completed, my wife saw an immediate improvement in her vision. After surgery and recovery, Kevin and Misty brought my wife out of the building at 11:30am and carefully helped her get into my truck for the ride home. Follow-up appointments are at New Eyes with the first appointment on 5-25-2023.

Everyone at the Green Valley Surgery Center was very helpful, professional and personable. Dr. Hildebrand of New Eyes is a great surgeon. We recommend this place for any eye surgeries. Ken

No problems with the staff or center but they screwed up my insurance out of pocket charge and even though I had the paperwork to prove it, I had to deal with some under 30 idiot who had blinders on and couldnt think or make decisions. I had to pull teeth to get one of the people in charge and it didnt take that person long to find the mistake. All ok but I really hate this under 30 generation of jerks. Wow I sound like my ww2 parents when we were that age lolllololol

Couldn't get any more professional and compassionate than my experience on 9-10. Attention to detail from beginning to end separates this surgery center from everything and everyone- including hospitals. I recommend this center without hesitation.

ridiculous I have to call more than three times to talk to billing never get an answer never get a call back. After I leave three voicemails today is probably the fifth time I’m calling now ! So aggravating I have all kinds of stuff going on I can’t keep worrying about this. I should be able to talk to someone and Not have to keep finding time to call back.
